PMDG General Forum

Hi all,I really need your help: I can't fly the pmdg's anymore, neither the 737 nor the 747. When I choose one of those acft, 2D panel, the fps goes down to 3fps and stays stuck at this value. I do not face this pblm with other acft (non pmdg). This pblm is new, it suddenly appeared for few days.On top of that, I realised that while in a pmdg cockpit, the only choice available in my "modules" menu is fsuipc; the squawkbok application is not displayed anymore; if I change acft type, squwakbox is back again in the modules menu...Could you please help me, as I really would like to avoid uninstall/reinstall..Thank you in advance.Jean-Marc //

Good morning 737 crews !After 4 months flying the NG, reading the manuals and the available tutorials, I have two unsolved questions:1).- Which is the correct autothrottle disconnect procedure in a non-autoland precision approach ?I normally do this:At minimums I disengage the autopilot.At 50 ft I start the flare, disconnect AT and retard the throttles to idle.Is it correct ?And the second question:2).- What is FPV (flight path vector) indicator in the PFD used for ?I have read about it in the manuals and in Tim Metzinger's tutorials but I don't get to understand it.Thanks in advance. Hi (again),Although I am almost sure I've seen threads with similar titles,the fporum search engine couldnt locate them for me, therefore I post the question again: on several occasions, the virtual cockpit of the 744s at some point simply disappear.Hitting 'S' will switch directly to spot view, no more virtual cockpit. No matter even if I go and choose the VC view in FS views options.I pretty much think it is Active Camera related, which I use, but is there any trick to get the VC back? Everything else works correctly, except the VC who vanished.Tried to pause the sim, several other things(like activating/deactivating the VC from the PMDG options menu) but to no avail.I'…

Hey All,Today for the first time I was badly surprised with the 744F fuel burn on an RJAA-PANC cargo flight.I held a real flight plan, on which the average winds was 20 knots tail wind, and average altitude temperature.I matched everyhting as on the flight plan, zero fuel weight plus the ramp fuel gave me the exact same MTOW as on the flightplan. In a word,everything set ok.At the begining of the flight, the FMC prediction PROG page gave me a fuel over destination way lower than what was on the flightplan. I didnt use real weather, just the default westbound 25knots winds, which gave me the same average winds as on the flightplan.The FMC was right, once landed, I could on…

Hi everyone, just encountered a wierd situation on approach to VHHH. I took the simulator off pause at the TOD and for about 5000 feet the descent went fine, then all of a sudden the plane levelled out above the descent path and the airspeed rocketed up and would have overspeeded if i hadn't intervened. I took it off V nav and used V/S , speed select and speedbrakes until the aircraft got back on track, when i reconnected V Nav. This proceeded to happen again and i lost the autothrottle ( no thrust annucniation on the left top the PFD) i rearmed the autothrottle but to no avail. I had to use manual throttle control all the way to the runway. I had no constraints entered i…

When i go to the PMDG website to download Liveries i click download so it works then the installer opens and runs fine then it says the install was sucsessful but when i open the game it is not there please tell me there is a fix for this as i want to fly different airlines help , thanks Steven

A question to the PMDG team and the PMDG team only!Are you eventually going to upgrade to a better forum..a forum of your own like an Invison one or are you always going to remain intact within the Avsim forums?I ask this question because this forum is one i try to use quite regular and it holds some great resources thoughout the posts.My main point is i find this forum a real pain in the a$$ to navigate around & to search around and i always am befuddled by the massive threads in HTML that go on and on. What is the best flap setting for the shortest t/o roll for a heavy weight? At 150,000 gw I struggled to make it off the ground using a 12000 foot r/w, and had very poor climb performance using flaps 15.

With the NG failures menu does anyone know if you click the random checkbox and for example it selects 60 minutes...does that mean the failure will occur at exactly 60 minutes or within 60 minutes?

OK so PMDG have said they are not going to enable the 737NG to move over to FSX as they are designing a new version for FSX. Fair enough considering that it was first developed for FS2002 (but #### annoying for me as I only got the 800/900 last year!)However, could I ask, please, that this time around we have the complete NG range - 600 to 900 - in one go and not have to purchase two items of software as the last time?Iain Smith

OK guys i really need some help on this, i have been stressing my self over this for a while now. When i start up FS2004 and i get into one of those PMDG planes the only sound i here is the standyby clicking noice. when i move the flaps i can hear the sound for that and so on. But the only thing i dont hear is the engine sound. I dont know why i have reinstalled it like 5 different times. Can someone help me with that ASAP

is there some reason why, my fsnav doesnt work with the 747, and if there is how do i fix this, thanks in advance ;)

Hey fellow PMDG fans !What a problem. I just took delivery of a new Sony 23" widescreen LCD.Running res at 1920 x 1200.But is anyone in similar situation getting the N1 indicators drooping into the N2 area and trouble seeing 5 digit altitudes on the "tape" area??Must be the "stretch" factor. Otherwise all looks VERY good and on approach the view is Kick BUTT!!!Any fixes?? Does PMDG have a widescreen panel version??ThanksBrianNo specs as my systems bites...except for the monitor.

Whenever i fly the PMDG 737 or 747 the frames suddenly drop when i move the mouse from the VC. If i disable transform and lighting this doesnt happen, but i get 10 less frames without T&L enabled. The default planes don't do this. Could it be that my graphics card is shader 1.1?

Hello ChapsI'm using Felice Valante's 747 Fuel Planner and FSnav to calculate my flight plans and fuel loads, however after 30 mins of flight time - on or around achieving cruise level - the FMC displays a message saying "MAX ALT FLXXX". In some instances, engine number 3 has then shut down and I have had to re-start it.At the same time, the Autothrottle dis-engages and SPD/THR or THR REF disappears from the AFDS. At first I couldn't figure out how to re-engage the throttle but have discovered that this can be done by pressing the VNAV button on the MCP until SPD appears in the AFDS.For example, today I was flying from KLAX to PHNL with 120,120lbs ZFW and 163,400 lbs st…

Hello,i need some help. I have the Logitech force 3D pro joystick and the PMDG 747. But both together don't work in a perfect way. For example, after takeoff, passing roughly 1000ft, i engage the autopilot with LNAV and VNAV. Well and my joystick starts to move a little bit forward ( nose down ). And while he is moving forward the autopilot turns off automatically, and i have to fly manually. So i pushed the autopilot "Engage" button again....and again the nose moves slightly down ( like the forece feedback joystick)...and again the autopilot turns off automatically itself.
