HiI just completed my first flight with the 744F. The model was Singapore Airlines Cargo, which uses the PW4062 engines. I noticed a few differences from the 744 in performance, which I found rather strange.1) The aircraft was fully loaded to just under the MTOW (TOW was 871.519lbs). In spite of that I hardly needed to touch the throttles before the plane was racing down the taxiway as if it was empty; it really felt like it was empty. This didn't seem to be the case with the 744. So I figured that either there was a strange bug or the PW4062 engines are hella powerful. Personally I don't believe them to be as powerful as I experienced them. I had to use the brakes a lot …

  4. As well as an excellent article on a Helsinki-Bangkok MD-11 flight (Finnair) with lots of interesting details on the operation of this beautiful bird. Some good real world knowledge from a current pax operator of the MD-11 (maybe the last pax operator left??), also relative to PMDG.The article on the PMDG B744F is excellent, written by Jane-Rachel Whittaker, who writes about actually flying these birds commercially in real life. I was impressed when she mentioned that even the individual nuances of each engine type is modelled correctly, after she spent long hours studying the engine data. On page 64, in an article "Flight Simulation".Bruce.

  5. Hello,I just tried to do an exact fuel planning according to the "Cruise and Fuel Planning" manual. Could it be that there is a mistake with adding the adjustment fuel on page 2-14 of the manual (Passenger version of the aircraft)? The planned landing weight of the example flight from KSFO to KIAD is 544100lbs, which is 69100lbs above the Table description weight of 475000lbs mentioned above the table on page 2-7.On page 2-7 is written: "For every 10000lbs deviation above (below) 475000lbs, add (subtract) fuel burnout correction shown in "Adjust" row on bottom of the tabel"In the example below that text they use a trip with 4800nm at FL410 and a planned landing weight of 5…

Interesting post isnt it? My framerates are great all over the US. Even to Hawaii but the only two times I have gone over to Paris from Newark, the frames are alittle slow taxiing around in Newark only. Maybe because of the larger crunching of numbers...I dont know. Anyone have any clues? Thanks, Alex

I was just wondering about the 747 fleets. I know an update will be avalible soon after the release of FSX, but just out of shear curiosity, could you say what the update will include? I mean, will there be a new model included or new panels? Or is it a secret?Ryan Gamurothttp://www.precisionmanuals.com/images/forum/supporter.jpg

hey all, came across this press release just a short while ago...I was always under the impression that Airbus treated the FS community and developers with disdain and had little interest in working with developers like PMDG and others when it came to flight simulations...this release makes me think that Airbus is re-thinking there way of doing things...any comments on wha looks like a promisng new relationship....?"Flight One Software is excited to announce an official partnership with Airbus Military (AMSL) for the replication of the A400M military transport aircraft to be used in Microsoft's Flight Simulator.Following the success of the manufacturer-endorsed ATR 72-500…

Hello everyone, I own a copy of the PMDG 747-400 PAX and have successfuly used it for a while now, recently, I bought a brand new Dual Core Processor Computer, and installed the 747 software on it. Everything works perfectly, and the detail is way more excellent, the problem is when I load the aircraft and I am sitting on the runway, all engines and systems fully operational, after about 10 seconds or so all the CRT screens go black, only the FMC screen still works. I did have this problem in the past on the old computer but it corrected itself on it's own. Any ideas?

Hi all,I have the program called FS Screen. I tried to upload a screen shot of my FS view but when I did, it said that my file was too large. I've seen many of you upload these files. The size of the file I'm trying to upload is 2.25Bb. So, I think what I need to do is to reduce the size of the file from 2.25Mb to 150Kb. So how do I go about doing that or how do you upload these flight simulator files? Thanks, Ken.

I am probably doing something stupid, but I need your help in figuring it out.I have been enjoying the Queen for many months, but I recently bought a new computer, and just goth through instaling FS2004 and the 744/744F on to it. On my first flight, somthing really wierd happened. The autoflight system seesm to be uncoupled from the airplane, when it is active. After preflighting the bird and programming the FMC as I have many times before, I set off for the runway and all all seemed good. During takeoff, however, I noticed that the flight director crosshair did not rise for rotation, but instead remained pegged at the horizon. As I climbed, the crosshair actually sank…

Dear all,Recently I discoverd my PMDG744 have several Autopilot VNAV problems. Please help.1. After takeoff and engaging the A/P at 1000ft, LNAV VNAV switch on, the vertical mode is VNAV SPD instead of the usual VNAV PTH mode. (I had FD, A/T, LNAV, VNAV armed before takeoff)2. Even though setting Speed trans 240/10000 in VNAV descend page, the plane was still at 260-270kts by 10000ft. Strangely, A/T mode kept on 'HOLD'. I was forced to use speedbrakes to slow down,,,3. After installing PMDG744F, i discovered the main ECIAS display was modified on the 744 Pax version. The place for the engine N1 was replaced by EPR display, and the N1 got smaller, just under the EPR display…

  17. Hi,I bought Active Camera today and am delighted with the product. Bought it actually for the only add-on aircraft I own, the PMDG 737NG series and the 744 and 744F.While exploring the programm today, FS crashed four times, and four times the .DLLs involved were different (only one out of four was linked to a PMDG .gau file). So my question is: is there any known issues with AC and PMDG ?I use fs9.0 unpatched and the respective latest Active Camera 2.1_0The crashes occur all the time in external view. Thanks,

Greeting Captains,I thought I'd share my recent visit to "Air Force One" now housed in a Special hangar at The Ronald Reagan Libray in Simi Valley. California. The Boeing 707, number 27000 was accepted into the Air Force on Aug 4, 1972 after 200 hours of testing and was first used as "Air Force One" by President Nixon in February 1973.President Reagan made his first trip aboard 27000 on Feb 22, 1981 from Andrews Air Force Base to Santa Barbara. On August 29, 2001, President George W. Bush became the 7th and last President to fly 27000 (Nixon, Ford, Carter, Reagan, H.W. Bush, Clinton, W. Bush) and the 10th to fly the Boeing 707 as Air Force One (Eisenhower, Kennedy, and Jo…

Hi there me again,I've just noticed that when I completely shut down my 737 to a cold and dark state after a flight and go into spot view, I can still hear the aircraft making a noise, like the engines are still running but it sounds quieter. I can't hear anything in the cockpit though, which is maybe why I haven't noticed it before. I turned off all AI to make sure it wasn't another aircraft confusing me and the sound was still there and I then turned off the engine sounds in the FS sound menu and the sound went away. So it is definitly some sort of engine sound. Is this a normal sound to hear?ThanksDaniel

Dear PMDG TeamI registered on your site, read over all your advertisements, touting the "Queen of the sky", added it to my shooping cart, and decided to use your paypal option to pay for the aircraft, after I payed $54.99, I clicked the "Return to Merchant Button"; which returned me to your site, where I found nothing! That was on the 8th of August.Well I wrote you all twice already, do you ever answer anyone who uses the contact method that you'll have on your own site? I have recieved no answer, I still have recieved no product, so what gives? Is your paypal service working? Or should I have used a credit card instead; if so, then why have a paypal option on your site?…

PMDG will be redoing the 737NG for FSX if I read that correctly and so I was curious if the layout of the VC will be reworked aswell. In this I mean will the placement of the eyepoint be more forward toward the correct seating position of the side windows. Currently we all kind of sit to far back and up against the rear cp window (somewhat) due to the way the VC graphics are done giving it more of a 2D feel. This is by no means critisim. Perspective and depth ain't easy to recreate. :)So I was wondering if the 737 and MD-11 (which is a very wide cp) VC in FSX will be more 3D? I noticed in the FSX demo, the CRJ VC has some nice depth/persective and the L/R seating position…

I received a PaintKit for someone that has the PMDG 800 so I can repaint it for him.I noticed that there is a file named PMDG_800_full_right.psd and a full_left.psd, which is great since I can see the whole fuselage, but there is also aPMDG_800_Fuse_Left_t.tga and a Fuse_Right_t.tga (no PSDs of that type). So I guess my question is, can we use the FULL version instead of the other version? I am not sure what files PMDG looks for, if it looks for one over the other or what it does if both exist?Since the .tga version doesn't have Layers like the .psd version, I'd rather use the .psd files since the layers are already in the file.Any info on this would be appreciated.
