Hello!I usually fly short flights (100-300 nm) with my PMDG 737NG. And short flights needs low cruise levels. But for now, I'm only guessing my cruise level, so it's quite random. And also sometimes I use too low levels, so I'm at cruise for like 15 minutes, instead of cruising at a higher level. But is there a way to calculate my cruise level? I know I can look at the PERF INIT page, but it's sending me to way too high altitudes. I also need to know before I start Flight Simulator which level I'm going to cruise at since I'm using Radar Contact.-J

Hello all,I would like just a clarification. It's a pure curiosity of mine.I noticed that these two functions although active on the FMC, do not seem to accomplish what they are supposed to as I have understood from the manual. I had a climb costraint on a SID of FL150B. I was climbing thru FL100 and had FL350 set in the MCP altitude window since I was cleared to climb directly to my cruise altitude by ATC. So I pressed the climb DIR LSK on the FMC climb page and executed it when prompted, but the altitude costraint was not deleted and the aircraft attempted to level off at FL150 by that specific fix. I just wanted to know to what extent these 2 functions are simulated in…

Hello,I do not know how the clock operates in real enviroment but it resets itself to 0 when passing 100minutes?Is there some way that the clock-counter shows flight time in HH:MM format and is it like so in real life?Kind regards

Good afternoon to all B737 crew members:Here is the link to a very insteresting powerpoint presentation of the new B737 SOP (Standard Operation Procedures). You will see that many things have changed, even the PNF (pilot not flying) has changed his name to PM (pilot monitoring)...and many more. So, everybody back to school !! (that means less sleeptime...)http://www.b737.org.uk/newb737sops.ppsRegards. Jose Luis.

Hi,Can't find the answer. maybe someone (real Pilot) can share with me.1. Default unit weight in FMC, Kg's or lbs? can it be changed? how?2. Can we changed that unit in PMDG? i notice the unit only changed in the fuel tank display, not in FMC.3. How the load calculated in the real 737-800? example the ZFW, GTOW, fuel weight. how do all that calculation. pilot? or with weight sensor? sorry i don't have that knowledge.RegardsShaheedan

Is there some way to use the nav radios in the pmdg similar to most other aircraft. I know that I can set the nav freq manual , but there seems not to be a tradition course selector for the OBS . Is it possible to manipulte the crs so that one can determine and set the radial. Will it then show on the PFD.Peter

After departing Tel-Aviv in the 744 at 802K lbs for KJFK, I had to declare an emergency at FL260, on approaching the coast of Cyprus and diverted quickly for a landing at LCLK (Larnaca), Cyprus. I descended at around IAS 320 with full spoilers all the way down, averaging -4000 to -5000 fpm, overflying the field at about 10000 feet, descending further with spoilers out to 7000 feet MSL at IAS 240 and then extended flaps, did a circling approach descending on FLCH to 3000 MSL, and then performed an ILS autoland approach from 3000' MSL at 774K lbs, intercepting the Loc and then the GS perfectly, with an FMC Vref30 of 172 (!!) --to which I mistakenly added 10 knots of paddin…

Normally I have been using 2 buttons on my Yoke to inc/dec Trim but when flying the B744/B744F i have always found that trim was working "weird". Till now I have simply lived with it, but today I decided to do something with it since I thought it was some kind of keyboard conflight (those keys sending the Trim Inc/Dec), hence instead I setup an unused axis of my Yoke control the trim. For the "plain valilla" planes in MSFS this worked extreemly well, however for the B744 it still worked "weird". Looking at the "gauge" in the Throttle view I can also see how it worked. Moving my trim axis to its full extend, I had expected the "needle" in Trim-gauge moving according to, but…

I've noticed that all of a sudden on all my PMDG a/c (747/737NG) the engines are never running anymore when I choose any PMDG a/c. I've never started cold and dark, always with everthing running - I've not changed any settings so I have no idea why this is happening. This doesn't seem to be a problem with other a/c, although I've not really double checked all my other a/c.I've looked into the PMDG settings and the MSFS setting and I have not made any chages and have nothing turned off, like engines on startup or anything like that.If anyone can let me know why this is happening I would appreciate it, normally I follow the same procedure choosing an a/c. I always start MSFS…

Hi, 1. is there anyway when using the build in flightplaner in FS2004 to find out the SID/STARs and Runways for the flight? 2. When using an optional planer, is there a way to import it to FS so that the ATC in the game follows it?

I notice that the TO/GA 'click spot' which is present in the 2D cockpit view is not there in the virual cockpit view (Active Camera used, PMDG 747-400).Is this a bug or was it intentionally left out? I like to fly in the virtual cockpit exclusively, so just wondering if I'll need to switch to 2D view for hitting this click spot every time.

Hello everyoneI just got the 747-400 "Queen" last friday, I printed and studied as much and as many sections of the manual as I could, went into the PMDG folder in the FS root directory, to the 747 Load Manager; loaded my aircraft with Pax and Gas, went into the Flightplans folder and wrote down the title of one of those flight plans (CDGMUC001); then went into FS2004 and set up the flight, supplying as much info as I could into the FMC, made all my settings on the EFIS/Mode Control Panel; did my checks according to the "Normal Procedures" section of the manual. After recieving clearance from ATC, I taxied to runway 8L at Charles De Gualle, with the flight director of th…

Does anyone have a 747 flightplan that can be placed straight into the navdata folder for the Singapore - Amsterdam or Singapore - Heathrow or Singapore - Frankfurt sectors? I used Route finder to get basic plan but when i put the waypoints into the FMC my flightplan showed me bactracking all over the place. I checked the waypoints by Latitude and Longitude and I know that it is my fault but I just cannot get it to work without having 2000nm legs. Help anyone? The WSSSEDDF002 plan in the folder does not load when i enter it into the co-route nor does the 001 version. I really want to fly this leg.Gerry

I have Both PMDG 747-400 and 737-NG and with both I have problems with FS 2004 Dynamic (real time) weather feature. When I try to use it it says "Can't connect to Internet, check your internet settings" etc. But Internet works fine and If I use other aircrafts from POSKY and others the dynamic weather works fine. Has anyone else experienced this ?

I have a question about the VNAV.1.) once you properly setup the FMC and engage the VNAV does it automatically climb/decend you to your desired altitudes you specifed? Or do you still have to enter the altitudes in the autopilot while the VNAV automatically sets your cimb and decent rate speeds? Thanks,Ryan
