Hi all,I fly the 737 NG's quite regularly and have become pretty good at operating it. My question is how long does it take for you to go from a cold and dark cockpit to fully being prepared for taxi. It usually takes me between 5 and 10 mins including programming the FMC. I feel that it may be slightly too quick and was just wondering if its this quick in real life.ThanksDaniel

Hi, I fly with a virtual airline called Unity.Due to my hardware, i find it difficult to land manually, so another pilot there decided to add an ILS to a runway, which originally didnt have one. He has done this using AFCAD or something with a similar name, he may of aslo added some scenary files.Just wondering do i need to do more editing so they will work with my PMDG 747? Or Can i just enter the ILS frequency manually on the NAV Radio page when close enough to the field? Will it allow me to perform an autoland?Thanks.

Hi,Although I've been looking for this both in the 747 courses by RSR and into the manual, I cant figure out how to set a waypoint into the FMC from a given runway.For instance, setting a point like few nautical miles ahead the runway, on the axis of that runway, when there isnt any navaids nor known waypoint which could help. Something like RWYXX/00 ?I know in approach mode when selecting a visual approach the FMC will put a fix like that at the desired distance, but what about for take-off mode?I read in the manual it's possible, yet it doesnt give the syntax for that.Thanks in advance.

hi, I've got all the latest updates installed (incl. 74F) but there just seems to be a little bug: when I press the RST button for the minimums on the EFIS nothing happens. any suggestions why?

I'm getting a new dual-core system, and I wanted to know whether it is possible to have FS2004 on one core, and PMDG on another, as I understand the SMDG models are a simulation within a simulation. If I set the processor Affinity on FS2004 to 1, does the PMDG models always load on the same affinity as FS2004, or does it always default to affinity 0 or is there a way I can set the affinity for the PMDG models directly also.Thanks for handling a teccie rather than a pilot based question.

Hello,I would like the possibility to fly the aircraft manually once the autopilot is set for Altitude.For other aircrafts in FS you just need to add the following lines in the aircrfat cfg file :use_no_default_pitch = 1use_no_default_bank = 1 That doesn't seem to work for PMDG aircrafts...Does anyone know what I could do ?Thanks a lot,

Well, as indicated by some of my previous posts, I have built myself a new PC, and now I have superb framerates at 1600x1200 at maximum detail levels. Lovely . . . well almost.I have a request of the PMDG folks. As promised I bought the 737-800/900 and 747-400F to go with my 737NG and 747QotS, and did a full reload as per the instructions given in a previous topic. However coulkd some please PLEASE write a "Livery Manager" for these products that automates the download and installation of PMDG mandated liveries . . . how many individual installers do you really need to run sequentially to get the full livery set, and for pete's sake, do they all need to appear in Add/Remo…

This evening I began trip from Newark, NJ to Paris. (Yes the 737-800 will make it). During the overnight atlantic crossing I noticed how illuminated the wings appeared. It was like the sun was shining on them at 12am. Also I have to wonder why the sky is blue at night, it should be PITCH black. It seems like the darkest fs2004 gets is about dusk. Extremly annoying if you ask me.Your thoughts when you get a chance.Alex

I am at the moment flying the TRC 4. Like the other three it's great and a tremendous help in improving my understanding of the 747 systems.However, I'm encountering a problem that's slowly driving me crazy.When I load up TRC4 part 1 for the first time, everything works fine. But when I reload this lesson,set the autobrake and take off again an alarm goes off just when I leave the runway. There's no message in the eicas or anywhere else, all the anunciations are correct, the speed is fine. This happens everytime I reload the lesson. I can switch the alarm off, of course, but I really would like to know if anyone has an idea why it's behaving like this.Martin

While enroute from EGLL to SFO flying the 744 I encountered the Aurora Borealis (Northern Lights) just a little west of Scotland. I was not aware that Microsoft had actually simulated this phenomenon. I have encluded a screenshot of this. The greenish glow can be seen at the very top of the window.

Hi. I'm having trouble flying the PMDG 737-700 into Madeira. I've had the same thing happen twice. On the VOR visual approach for runway 05, when I disengage the AP to make the visual turn onto final, I can't disengage A/T speed mode. The light goes out on the SPEED switch when I click it but the autothrottles keep trying to command climb power. I've tried switching off the flight director but that makes the SPEED button light up again. It seems the only way is to manually disarm the autothrottle. Madeira seems to be the only airport at which this happens. Anywhere else, I can disengage the AP and then disengage SPEED and land manually with no problem.Advice appre…

Hi I have the 737 Next Generation and I recently bought fs2crew but I uninstalled it. Following the uninstallation my 2d panels will not show up can someone help me should i just reinstall my 737? I found no uninstaller for it must i uninstall my pmdg 747 as well? Thanks for any help.Fred
