Just curious and day- (well, OK, night) dreaming...Has anybody hit the Mach-buffet-and-stall-regime simultaneously in the Queen in FS2004? Are there any instances in real life of coffin corner throwing a 744 out of the sky?Jonathan

Dear All:I am just finishing the reading the Radar Contact Manual. I fly the PMDG 737 series. I read the section in the manual about holding patterns. I am really comfortable in setting up a holding pattern in my FMC as long as it is based on a fix. I know how to do that. But in the RC manual on page 54, it says I may be asked to perform a hold at a preset DISTANCE from a fix (it says "cleared to the Memphis zero-five-five radial, four zero mile fix, hold northeast.") I know how to do a hold once I get to KMEM, but how do I program the FMC to perform the hold at 40 DME from KMEM? The FMC only seems to allow me to select the FIX (KMEM) the radial (055), the length of the p…

Hi everyone -I've been loving the PMDG 747s and I've been wondering for a while if it would be possible to replace the 400Fs engines with PW JT9Ds ? That way we could have a 200/400 hybrid.I'd love to know how to do this or see PMDG do it as it would be fantastic !Thanks guys.Nick Anderson

I have a question for 737 pilots(or any other a/c I guess): Is there a ratio to go by when calculating how much baggage passengers carry? I try to average 40lbs per passenger, but think that might be a bit low . . . The major carriers must take into account how much baggage their pax are going to bring - too much and the 737 couldn't do PHX-JFK too reliably, yes?

The only question is: what features of the new FS10 have immediatly influence on the 744 when upgrading to FSX+PMDG744new?If it's 1:1 the same product that wouldn't be that fasctinating to me. Why buying expensive killer-hardware to make the FSX run and finally have the same product (744) to fly with?regards,Volker

I have flown the 737NG for a while now using the 2D cockpit only and I never seem to find a use for the approach and landing screens. I have got so used to the 'Z' screen that I feel uncomfortable out of it. In particular I cannot see the engine indicators in the approach and landing screen which I find useful to glance at. I am wondering whether other people find as I do or am I missing something in these other screens. I use the mouse and keyboard and perhaps this may explain it. Anyway I would be interested in other people's views,Best wishes, John Morgan

The departures at LOWI/Innsbruck require one to climb on a localizer. However, after takeoff and when the LLZ has been captured, I believe the plane (737-800) thinks it's on approach. It switches from CLMB to G/A and e.g. the CLB and CRZ pages on the FMC are inaccessible. What am I doing wrong here?

I have posted a few times about how to smooth out the upper level winds, most of the responses said either FSUIPC or Activesky. I was wondering if anyone has any experiences with either and would like to share them. I love my framerates so I would like to try to keep them around where they are. Any info would be appreciated I am thinking about buying one or the other tomarrow morning when I wake up.Thanks, Alex

Hello there,It seems I have a new problem with this aircraft, I suddenly dont have enough thrust for a rotation. On line up I advanced the thrust levers to reach 40% N1 and check engine parameters, at this point I still hardly have any speed I then activate TO/GA but am unable to even lift off. A/T is armed, and the correct trim setting is done before hand. It has been working fine for months up until this point, I havto push my thrust lever right to the end to gain any speed. It doesnt seem to be the controller as it works fine with other aircraft and is properly calibrated, I am not receiving no warning alarms with regards to an incorrect take off configuration.Any help …

Hello to everyone. When handflying my PMDG-737 I almost always engage CWS mode. I have found it's a fantastic way for easy aircraft control. You just select a pitch-roll attitude with the yoke and CWS maintains it. But I have two questions for you 737 experts:1.- Is CWS mode something similar to that "autotrim-flybywire" system in Airbus aircraft ?2.- Is CWS mode normally used in the real world to handfly the 737 ?Thanks. Jose Luis.

I'd love to see a few more Express model turbo-props and possible small jets added to the line-up:Dornier 328(in my opinion the most beautiful turbo-prop in existence)Beechcraft 250 and 300CitationsGulfstreamsI honestly fly nothing but PMDG aircraft for FS, so the more of my favorites you guy put out the more options I'll have...oh yeah, and the more money I can give you! :) Its nice to have the speed and convience of a turbo-prop but the terristerial eye-candy available at flying at intermediate altitudes

We miss you and we all are sure looking forward to more of your type rating courses and hope to hear from you soon. Ken.

A couple of simple questionsJust wondered what you all use for normal procedures on the 737 800/900assume flight plan ( star and sid entered) in the fms1. at times i get a message says , efis and nav freq disagree. Does this mean , the tuned freq on nav 1 and the freq on the current leg of the fms ( even if lnav ) is disengaged.2.On approach I normally tune the ils on Nav 1 and the inital fix to vor 2 . but there is no course selector for nav 2,unless i missed it. I read a tutorial that says you should put the ils freq into both nav's but that is not completely realistic either.Peter [email protected]
