FS host & team speak could be used to help people who have just purchased the 747 & or 737 .Someone with experience handling the FMC on either aircraft could have a training session for example.Phill Irwin.

I'm sure that we all agree that the FMC is the best fuel planner out there, but on my last two flights (PHNL-YSSY/WSSS-EGLL), the FMC was off by quite a bit. On my flight from Singapore to London, it was off by more that 40,000 lbs! Not good concidering it said I would have ~56,000 left at T/O.So here's the question. Is there away to minimize the error in the FMC's Fuel Planner? Or is there a general rule to follow for loading fuel before a flight?Ryan GamurotLucky to live Hawai'ihttp://www.precisionmanuals.com/images/forum/supporter.jpg http://www.jdtllc.com/images/rcv4bannersupporter.jpg

Hi,I have been flying the PMDG 738 for 12 mths and the 744 for a few months and input my plans into the FMC regularly. When programming the routes into the FMC, I have found some airways are not being accepted. In this case, I am doing KEWR>OMDB, as follows:... HUO J63 STOMP J95 BUF J531 SSM NCA15 ORT J502 OTZ J123 OME DIR YUREE G212 TA G370 UEEE B155 UEMO A180 UIKK B151 RO A817 MIKET A91 UNWW G121 SR A366 KRG G96 DZG A370 DARVA B143B AFGAN W16 ASB A240 RIKOP A419 MAXMOI programmed all the way up to the G370 to go from TA to UEEE and the airway G370 promts "invalid entry". I checked FSNav and G370 will get from TA to UEEE (TA>UHMM>BA>INLIR>OMAVI>BAGUN>…

Hullo Aviators! The reason why this hobby thrills me so much is the possibilty of simulating the real world experience of any flight in real time!I try as much as possible to shadow a flight whenever I'm simming. I chose today the BAW179 out of Heathrow for JFK... since acc to my virtual airline log I'm currently in London. Just based on estimates I started off pushing back at 1315 NY time (where I am physically) after wrapping up checks... ... Flying over Shannon I tried to track the flight the AirNav tracker to check if it had picked up the flight, but not quite... I checked FlightAware.com and while detailed info wasnt available it showed the flight departing at 1830Z..…

Hi there,I have a little problem with my PMDG 747. I make my flightplan with an ILS approach in it. but, the problem is that, when I actually wind up at the airport, the ILS doesn't tune up for me, it stays even with the "PARK" mension in the NAV/RAD page. I thus, have to tune it manualy. Could someone please help me on that point, and get it to tune by itself?thanks!Mike Stewart

Hi.I was flying the tutorial by Holger Seilz (downloaded from AVSIM). It starts in a Cold & Dark situation and it completes a fly between Frankfurt, Germany and San Francisco, USA. It was good for about 3 hours. I don't know about you, but I have a life outside FS and I can't make a 12 hours fly :DSo I save the fly. Next day I load the fly but everything was wrong, so I decided to terminate it.Anyway, my next step was start the same tutorial flight, but with my own plan.I don't know what I changed in the 747 but now the MCP's heading don't responses to the mouse clicks, neither the MCP speed. The EICAS button in the panel selector opens a black screen and it don't cha…

Dear PMDG,I noticed in your forums and ops wiki that you try to respond to emails received at your [email protected] address within 24hrs. I sent an email to that address last Saturday (12/9/06) and have yet to receive a reply. I figure my email hit your spam filter or something (or vice versa). I'm posting to let someone know that I have re-sent that email so please keep an eye for something from [email protected] (or please let me know of a different email address to utilize). The email was reference download links. Thanks very much for your time. Most Respectfully,

Hi:Thanks again for a FANTASTIC product! I have searched for a BD World Cargo 400F paint, and cannot locate one. At last check BA operated 8 747 cargo a/c. Although they may be 200 and 300 series, it would be nice to have a Speedbird version :) Is a paint in the works, or may I suggest one? Thanks!Carl F. Hi folks,Would like to know if the fuel config annunciation is modelled on the fuel quantity guage? With more than 800KG of fuel but less than 2300KG of fuel in center tank the procedure is to turn the pumps off for Take Off, giving a fuel config warning. This does not show up. If not modelled would it be done in the FSX version?Couple of other questions:1. If practicing a CAT II approach, I set 100ft minima on the radio altimeter. At the same time I set a CAT I minima on the baro altimeter bug (EFIS/MAP version) if need to downgrade during the approach. But the display only shows the selected setting on the EFIS control panel. In other words, if I have selected radio, th…

Hey guys, I've been flying the 747-400 for a little while now and love it. I have a friend who recently bought the Level D 767 and also a training DVD put out by another company. I've had a look at the DVD and I am so impressed. Its over 5 hours of explanations and procedures. Something like that would have been great for the PMDG 747 when I started. There are still things about the aircraft that I'm still learning. Would PMDG ever think about doing something like that?

Hello ...I wonder if it is possible to set max feet per minute descent so in drastic change of winds the plane do not go into 400 feet per minute at FL300 when in VNAV mode.Or when descending ...Is it possible to have a max-rate od descending "feet per minute" let say .. "2000" or 2500 while in VNAV mode. And one more silly question ...Information about the weather conditions for descent ... I use them from ASV-weather add-on. But I can certainly modify it just by watching the wind direction and speed?Best regards

I'm trying to reinstall my 747 and it asks for a password? where can I find this? I have the receipts and confirmation emails so I have the order ID. Would my password be my customer id?note: I'm not asking for someone to give it to me, merely where to look for it in the emails I received after purchasing it.thanks,Andrew

I fly the 737 with FS2Crew. lately I've noticed that on long flights, when I put the plane on AP and get away from my pc, on several occasions I've returned and found the plane on or near the ground. Everything on the panel is the same except the AP is off! The plane lost control and dove down.I can't figure out why this happens sometimes.EytanLLHA

Hi all !Will start by saying that I might be out of line here.....I don't want to offend anyone, just to tip about an improvement (as I see it)Downloaded the Cathay Pacific Cargo bare metal livery the other day.(For 747-400 paxversion) It beautiful ! Just like most of your other acft !But there was one thing that bugged me a little.... I think the "metal" parts of the hull is too white and looks painted.Would it be possible to get more of the "metal" look in the livery ?I compared it with another Cathay livery for the 742 and I think the PMDG livery can be improved....I don't have the skills to do it myself, so who am I to bark about it ?Whell, as I said, just want, as po…

Any chance of the following cargo liveries being painted:http://www.airliners.net/open.file/1143239/L/http://www.airliners.net/open.file/1069645/L/I realize that these are -200's and not -400's but the livery is still cool.I would do the bare metal one myself - if I could get a good bare metal base...............Thanks!!!Fred

Hello there,I have a couple of questions about navigating the Beech 1900c from Amsterdam (EHAM) to New York (KLGA)in a couple of flights via Great Britain, the Faroe Islands, Greenland and Canada.I do not want to use the FS9 GPS system. Seems like a nice challenge. Here are my questions...1. If I want to depart from EHAM I'll have to use a SID, for this flight I chose one that ends at BERGI above the north sea. Now from there all the connecting airways to Britain consist of waypoints/intersections. I can't use those (or can I?) so in stead I want to fly direct to the OTR beacon accross the sea, this leg however is not an airway. Can I file this? I mean, in real life, would…

Since I'm off on a much needed break I wanted to wish you all a great holiday season and all the best for 2007! LGAV-WSSS-YSSY (and back), the Sin-Syd leg in a 744 :-hah, so in seat 61A it's a FAR cry from my usual (virtual) perch at the business end of the aircraft! At least the next time I'm pushing those virtual throttles forward in front of my monitor and mumbling "takeoff thrust set" I'll know what it _really_ sounds like :7 Cheers'n beers!:-beerchug Tony

Hi all!Unfortunaly I'm kinda to dumb to make it on my own, but I really like flying planes with corporate design ("private jets") in FS. I haven't seen one for the PMDG 747 so far (maybe because it would be totally fictional). Does any one know one? Or maybe someone of your talents out there could make some and post it in the net? Would be tremendous!!!Best regardsParkhardt
