I've been attempting, without good results, to program the CH throttle quadrant to the 737NG 600/700. No problem with the button assignments, but only with the axis assigments for the 2 throttles, reversers and flaps. When assigning the 2 throttles to their own axis, they don't move at the same rate, e.g. when looking at the throttle window in the sim and both levers are in the same position, my CHTQ will have the levers about 1/2" or more difference in their positions, one ahead of the other by that amount. Now I've tried to calibrate them, but that doesn't have any effect.Second problem is with the flaps which I've assigned to the far right axis. I can't get smooth moveme…

Hi folks,I work for a VA, and we have a special FlightLogger software that monitors the flights, and scores the pilot skill. The program records moments when the pilot pushes light switches for example. The superb PMDG747 is an incompatible one with this program. The reason is the beacon light. It seems the PMDG beacon switch does not use the inbuilt FS light system, but it is own variables. I tried to add my own Beacon Lights switch from the default 777 panel, but it seems the PMDG panel blocks that inbuilt variable and keeps the light switched off. Because the inserted gauge went always OFF after clicking on it.The question is why the panel blocks the default Beacon Swi…

I was just watching a documetary on UAL 232 that crashed about 17 years ago. It got me thinking about the failures on the 747 but these could be used on all PMDG aircraft. One thought is to have the option to have a fan disk failure inflight. Either have a single blade shear off or a whole disk completely fly apart. One a more realistic note, perhaps an option to have failures occur at random could be done. I mean having a box checked saying random failures and have that stay in any flight. That way you really would never know whats coming. Then again, it would also be a good idea to have it generate failures in a way that would be random yet predictable in terms o…

Ok.. first off.. I've beed doing this training loop that I got told about from PS1.3A... Basically pick a single strip airfield.. get yourself set up.. Put a marker at the threshold where you start and a beam at 90 degrees to that out on your FMC.. Program in your take off data but leave autopilot F/D and A/T off.. Flaps 10.. flight straight ahead till 500 feet.. make a 90 degree turn to the left.. then continue climb to 1700 feet, then turn left again 90 degrees.. maintain flap 10 speed + 10.. while flying on the downwind leg.. set the FMC for landing.. get the speed VREF.. Then upon crossing the beam start the clock... at 30 seconds select flaps 20 gear down.. and at 40…

Can the 744 clock be used in the 737 planes? Since the chrometer doesn't stay with the sim acceleration 2x 4x, but stays with the computer clock. The 744 works fine. So could I just replace it in the panel.cfg?

I've done a search, but have found no real answer to my problem. I can't get the nosewheel of the 747 to track freely after touchdown and rollout. While on the ILS approach, I've disengaged the FD prior to touchdown, and disconnected the AP while on rollout. Even so, the nosewheel is very sensitive in taxi and I have to fight to keep the aircraft centered on the taxi line. Any idea what I might be doing wrong and how to correct this. Help is appreciated!!! Thanks. BTW, this is in FS9.

Hi all, reading the normal procedures/checklist of boeing 737 there is an instruction to set the engine start switches in the CONT position before the take-off (being part of the "before T/O procedure").The same istruction is also present in the "landing procedure". COnsequntly, I suppose that during the climb/cruise phases, the switch is moved in the OFF position. Neverthless, in the climb and cruise normal procedures I can't find any reference of turning off the engine starters. So my dubt is if my supposition could be wrong. If not, when we have to move to OFF the switches?Thank you in advance for any reply. Bye,

Hello MarkusYou recently wrote an article for the Swiss aviation magazine "Aerorevue" about using FS in commercial aviation training. In your article you posted a screenshot of the PMDG MD-11 showing its failure capabilities.I wanted you to ask if you could post the screenshot here as well since it is officially published anyway.I believe a lot of people will be delighted to see what this bird can do...Thanks and keep up the good work...CheersMartin

Hello,I was reading through a different forum regarding an 'upgrade' to a product for a Boeing jet, but one of the features that will not work in FSX with this jet is the wing flex. The developers said it had something to do with different code. This may sound like a silly question, but will FSX support flexing wings? Thanks,Darren

  22. Hi everyone..Basically.. I'm trying to learn as much about flying the 747-400 as I possibly can.. I'm a big enthusiast.. and I figure that the only way to really improve my own knowledge is to document what I know in a tutorial of my own design.. and then use the discussion and comments to better my understanding..My tutorial I've nearly finished now.. is very extensive.. covering planning.. fuel planning.. all pre-flight prep.. taxi tips.. take off in detail.. SIDS/STARs... Fuel Monitoring and control.. step climbs.. you know the whole deal.. right down to shutdown..But before I attempt to put anything on the PMDG OPs page.. there are a few things I wanted to clear up..1…

Will the forthcoming 737NGX be able to run in FS9 as well as FSX? The reason I ask is that I would like to see a FS9 version that can save flights and panel states, which I understand will be a feature of the FSX version. Thanks,Sandy

  24. Hi All ! I'm running FS2004 and FSNAV version 4.6 and the problem that I have is that when I'm in FSNAV and hit the AP Button FS2004 will not take command from FSNAV so the flight plan in FSNAV never gets ingaged. I'm using PMDG 737 NG 600/700 with the updated version. Is there any help you give me please ? Thanks Scott

Hi all, I am just wondering is GPWS Windshear warnings for 744 modeled? If no, what is the good indicator for windshear? I just did a landing in VHHH 07L and I set the wind to be 14025G35, at about 200' RA, the wind arrow in the ND shifted from 140 to 190, and I was trapped in tailwind condition but fortunately, I am still still managed to land the plane. However, is it a good sign of windshear?thanksben
