Hi Guys,I am quite new to the superb 747-400 from PMDG but I am enjoying working my way through the type rating lessons, I wonder if any of you can help me with a small problem, how do you activate the thrust reversers ? , when I am using the VC to try to activte them it just moves the throttles and I cannot see a key command to use.Hope you can help.

The PMDG 747-400 is most enjoyable, especially in combination with FS2Crew for the PMDG 747 and Radar Contact 4. The type rating course material also adds to this enjoyment as well as being very helpful. And then I purchased the excellent DVD from ITVV showing the very detailed Virgin Airlines 747-400 flight from Heathrow to San Francisco after which I really began to appreciate how wonderful the PMDG 747-400 model is. Of course the most fun still remains to fly the old Hong Kon Kai Tek approach to Runway 13 with the PMDG 747-400.I am looking forward to an equally excellent MD-11 which apparently FS2Crew will be modeling once it is out.Mike

I need help to reset my FMC in the PMDG 737-400. He does not know on what location he is. The location is stuck on N4715.5 E 011210 which is LOWI in Austria. I can program from here to any airport. On other locations he stays on LOWI location. On page 2 is the actuell location which cannot transfered to the airport on which I am .!! Have no explanation to this. Is ist possible to overinstall the disk so it will restore itself. I am not a computer wizzard. Who knows an solution ???:-zhelp

HelloI fly on network and the volume of the engine sound of my 747 PMDG is too high and sometimes it's difficult to hear some controllers. I want to reduce the volume but i try the OPTIONS/SETTINGS/SOUND (engine cursor to the left) options of FS and it doesn't match.May i reduce the volume in an other way ?ThxGilles.LFMN

Hi,I'm really fond of flying this very balanced and versatile airplane. I have a question about the range that is mentionned in the manual: 527 nm with max fuel or, worse, 316 nm with max payload.I can't figure out where this number is coming from. The max fuel is 4500 lbs; at app 750 lbs/hr fuel consumption for fast cruise, the range would be somewhere between 1250 and 1750 depending on weather.At economy cruise the range would be between 1750 and 2250 nm.This includes taxi, t/o, climb, cruise climb, cruise, descent, landing, reserve, alternate airport.Can anyone here explain? I have over the last 2 years tried to figure out a way to solve my EHAM problem in FS9. Since i bought the simulator, i have never been able to fly into EHAM (my most favorite airport) because the runways were not right. Last week i saw a posting on this site referencing Peter Bos's AFCAD file. I downloaded it and installed it. Now all the runways are in their proper place and evrything seems fine...But....i am still unable to pickup the ILS or GS signals for any of the runways even though they are listed on the FMS and when chosen the runway is displayed properly...there is just no ILS or GS signal. How can i fix this problem? Thanks.Anthony

Hi there allI was wondering if anyone had any knowledge of such a procedure - I haven't ever seen it outside of Australia. Perhaps it is an Australian thing? When I'm flying I arm VNAV the FMC is programed but when I reach the first altitube it just disconnects and when I try to connect it it wont light up.Any idea why?Kenneth

Hi Folks, I recently configured a new system and need a new key for ActiveCamera (purchased in 2005). Using the 400F VC is very awkward without it! The problem is that I haven't heard anything back from anticyclone for weeks (emailed multiple times). Has anyone been in contact with them recently? Are there any other alternatives besides ActiveCamera that compare? Thanks, Scott

My FMC does not recognize where he is ! I press FMC- then position and the position is wrong I am on N51307Eoo3439 and he shows N47155E011210. I cannot click on Dep. or Arrival. It seems that I have been on the last position online. Any Idea what I can do to default this ?

First time poster, pmdg lover.I use the load manager to load up the aircraft. And after i get everything ready i let the FMC do the math work and find my V speeds. lately they have been a good bit off. Someone has recommended checking the trim, where do i check, change this? Any other idea's why the FMc is off?

Hi all,I have one question concerning flaps speeds.I compared flap manoeuvring speeds in B737-300(PIC) and in B737-600(PMDG) with the SAME LDG WT(53.4 tons)And it seems to be rather different.I compared FMC computed speeds with tables from AOM for 737-300 and 737-600.In 300, fl. I have purchased the 744 and I have tried everything to get the IRS to align. The manual says to move the IRS selectors to off, then to NAV, then to Align. Wait for the counters to count down to zero, then move them back to NAV. I then get counters for the IRS L,C and R 7+Min and they do not count down from there. What am I doing wrong?

Well.. I thought I'd post my experiences with an engine fire.. I simulated an engine fire (partly to try out the emergency part of radar contact).. I got control.. brought the aircraft down gently in the descent.. Then it was pretty bad weather at my diverted air field.. raining.. windy.. OOOOO it's hard work!!!I managed to get down to a sensible level 3000 feet.. and was trying to get the FMC to accept my new airfield for landing.. I am not sure where you enter in the FMC your alternate air field.. I saw how you could change the destination in the PROG page, but on the ARR DEP page I couldn't see how I could change it... ??? Is there any new documentation that goes over ACARS function in the FMC? I have FMC user doc version 1.4 and it says it's a future enhancement.Also, I was wondering if someone could tell me how to load saved flight plans into the FMC. You can create the plans at www.simroutes.com and download the flight plan in a format for the PMDG 737NG.Thanks in advance,Terry

Hello, this is only to transmit you a very positive experience:I run FS9 in a humble Acer Centrino laptop with an Intel integrated video card. A very simple system as you can see, but I always have had an acceptable performance. I have my FPS locked at 16 (enough for the eyes), and the only things that brings them down (to about 11) are some complex sceneries.I have been running the PMDG-737/800/900 without problems.Only after installing THE QUEEN last week I noticed that when changing to outside views ("S" key), it took perhaps 2 seconds to "paint" the aircraft (of course I use DXT3 textures).Let me say that I do not use the V/C, my screen and my system are not prepared…
