WEll i have tried to make a cold and dark start. i remmember making one for the 737ng with no problem but it seems like im running into alot of issues with the 747everytime i start the cold and dark file i just made the packs are always set to normal even though i turned them off and the fule is set to on even though i turned them off to. i tried usuing a cessna turning everything off except for the avionics then choosing the pmdg 747 and everything is fine so i save it as soon as i pick a flight and it loads up geuss whats on you guessed it the packs are set to normal and the fule buttons is on ans for a kicker sometimes the engines are on go figuer. Hey fellow PMDG Simmers. Last night I flew from VHHH-EDDF in the queen. I woke up just in time to organize my descent into EDDF, but I noticed that EDDF's SIDS and STARS were not in the FMC. The weather was poor to say the least so a visual landing was out of the question although i tried without success. Is this a fault in the FMC or do I need to update my Navigraph software in able to select approaches into EDDF from the PMDG FMC? Thank you. P.S- Thanks for the fantastic 747-400.

So Boeing is (re-) launching its flagship, a newand modified version of the 747-400. Does anyoneknow sources where to find information aboutthis new plane and what will be the changes in the cockpit and instruments? I know this is quite OT, but anyway, the 747 is ourhobby and we should know what is happening in thefuture (hopefully PMDG will model the 747-8 by 2010 :-))Cheers,Alex

Hi all. Have had to change my version of windows (XP)and just finished installing fs2004 and pmdg 737ng.My problem is that all aircraft including the 737ng seem to run perfect, but they all accelerate and decelerate very slowly. The clock second hand also only moves at about half speed! I tried selecting the simulation rate to x2 and things were better. But this is not normal.Any ideas anyone??All worked fine before.Gfx card is nvidia 7600gs1GB ramxp1800+ amd processorwin XPThanks

Hi,When I fly off-line using the 737/6/7/8/9, I get great frame rates, above 30, even near complex terrain and action.Is there anything I can do to get better on-line frame rates, i get a lot of stuttering, especially when taxiing. It's not too bad, but it ain't smooth.

A couple of things:1) Sometimes while programming the FMC, I am unable to get any Dep or App runways or SIDS/STARS to show up on the FMC. This can happen at various stages of flight. On the ground before activating flight plan or in the air while programming FMC for destination runway. I am using the newest AIRAC from navigraph.com. It doesn;t happen all of the time, but enough to bother me.2) On approach to land at an ILS runway, I usually tend to let the AP get the plane lined up for approach and then I will hand fly the last part of the descent and landing, usually at or above DH. I usually override the AP by moving the joystick. Once that is done, I notice that …

I am a long time pmdg user i will not fly anything unless pmdg made it but i have had some problems. About 6 months ago out of nowhere i started having problems with the landing gear. whenever i hit auto pilot my gears would come down. no matter what i tried i could not fix it i do also have fsuipc and i know how to set it up. that was not the issue i deleted it and reinstalled it but nothing i even uninstalled all the pmdg software using the removal tool from pmdg. so i gave up after trying to fix the problem for 2 weeks. i did try all the forums but noone could help me get the problem fixed....well 6 months later i decided to give it a try again. i brought a new had dr…

Hi all,I have searched the forum to find an answer to this problem but I have been unable to find a topic regarding my particular problem. At any rate, recently I have been receiving a flying tip pop up window while using the 747. It basically says that I have insufficient fuel for the tank selected. Press CTRL X to add more fuel or something to that effect. Even though I go through the process of loading fuel through the PMDG options menu,select apply,etc., and have the correct fuel loaded with no FMC error messages, I still get this pop up window. It's quite annoying. Also, I have flying tips disabled within FS9 settings and still get this message. This has not happened…

How do you know the active runway of your destination airport? Normally in real life aviation the crew is able to print out such information from their ARCAS system and starts planning their approach 2 hours before landing. In FS9 the ATIS can be received only when approaching the airport, which does not give enough time to plan. Any ideas?Thanks.Alex

On nearly every occasion I've tried to use VNAV to plan a descent I find that the FMC shows the "drag required" and VNAV disconnects unless I add speedbrakes and/or take the gear down. My question: Why doesn't the descent algorithm start the descent earlier if drag is required? In particular I've noticed this happens a lot when getting close to 10,000' and the 250 speed restriction. It's almost as if the VNAV algorithm doesn't factor in time & distance to decelerate to 250.I usually turn off VNAV when it starts giving me trouble and control the descent myself using V/S.What's going on here, does the real thing behave this way or did I do something wrong?

Hi, I know this might be a lame question for some of you but is there a way to operate the nose gear steering seperately from the control surfaces on the 747 ?I could be wrong but it seems a bit unrealistic to me when using the joystick to turn the aircraft on the ground and all the control surfaces move as well as if I were airborne and banking.Cheers: Zsolt

I purchased and downloaded the 747 and the 737 (with both sets of 737s). After some difficulty (I am not really computer literate) I downloaded the British Airways livery. Both of the planes are now British Airways appearing when going to the spot view. However ATC refuses to refer to them as "Speedbird". I went to the config areas of both and speed bird (I have tried changing it to all variations of the word such as SPEEDBIRD etc.) Paul at PMDG suggests voice pack but failed to advise on how one does that. Further, I am unable to taxi the 747 as it refuses to recognize my rudder pedal efforts. I do not have this trouble with any of my other aircraft so I know it is not t…

Hello all, Just accquired the NG and I must say she is a beauty. Does anyone know if she comes with a pushback utility and if not where can I get one? I am aware of AES but that only works at certain airports. Also is there a way to switch back and forth from the traditional ND and PFD (744) displays to the "condensed" displays found in the NG?I also have the same livery installer problem as mentioned in an earlier post, downloaded the registry tool and the results were good, so any advice on that? I've got the CPFlight MCP and have almost got it working correctly with the PMDG 737NG. To get it to work correctly, you have to change key assignments from the PMDG menu. For whatever reason, when I change the key assignments, it's not saving them. I change them and then click OK, followed by close after I have chyanged all the ones I neeed to change. But it's not saving them when I go back into it. What's going wrong??????

Hello,the PMDG handbook supplied with the 747 is superb. However, I am missing a description of holding patterns in the FMC section. Im not even sure if it is simulated. Is it able to simulate correctly the different holding patterns (such as tear-drop entry, parallel entry etc)?Thanks.Alex

:-)Hi allIs it possible to use FS Navigator to load flight plans into the FMC of the 747-400 ?Also, I am new to the 744 and have always navigated up until now using VOR's ( always flown old aircaft ). I have a problem with all 737 and 747 aircraft variants from PMDG. For some reason, I can not trim the aircraft manually, and the autopilot can not engage (probably as a result of the trim issue). I've successfuly used both airplanes in the past, and the only difference that I can think of now, is the fact that by solving a code problem for FSUIPC, I have that thing fully registered. What happens with the 747 is as follows: when airborne I hold the ANU trim button, and the thing fluctates around 4.5, and never moves to any position. The aircraft is fully trimable on the ground, but goes back to the default 4.5 units ANU after takeoff. AP can not be engaged.On the other ha…

Hi guys, i have PMDG 747 and 737NG 747 runs well and great plane, when im on the ground in 737NG the ground textures change from black to normal and then black to normal anything causing this i looked around and apartently it isnt a pmdg issue it could be memory i have a good computer, and 747 runs fine

First off I hope everyone is having a Happy and Peaceful Christmas.My query is, I already have the 1900D and am looking at getting the 1900C now.I see there's new guages in the 1900C, but if I install this will it update the 1900D panel aswell, or are they just for the 1900C?Thanks for any info and enjoy your day of joy (hopefully).
