Hello fellow airmen.I have a problem with my PMDG 737-700 during preparation for a flight. I have PMDG 737-600/700 and 800/900 installed along with the 800/900 model patch (optional). When use the overhead panel in virtual cockpit the panel lights automatically turns on when I turn on the logo and position light switch. When I try to turn the panel light switch off, while the logo and position lights are on, the overhead panel gets messed up. It looks like merge between the 737-700 and the 737-800 overhead panel, i think. This only happens in virtual cockpit and not in 2D cockpit. If I turn on the logo and position light switch in 2D mode, with the panel switch off, the pa…

I have been having lots of dramas with the 747 since I installed it.At first it seemed to be AOK but after a number of successful flights it started going crazy part way through a flight. All sorts of things would happen like first a Cabin Altitude Alert for which I could not find a reason then the PFD and NAV displays in the Capt 2D cockpit would blank but they would still be apparently functioning in their pop-up modes. All would seem to be working when I switch to F/O but when I switched back to the Capt panel it was totally blank! Then....wait for it.....the alarm horn started and engines 1 and 4 dropped back to idle and just about every amber light on the upper pa…

I'm sorry i have to bring it up again. But i was searching the forum for the question for a 747-400f fuel planner! I knew this question came up a hundred times. So that isn't my question. The thing is you always get the answer from pmdg. The FMC is the best fuel planner there is. I agree with that but...and here is the question. How come they say the FMC is a good fuel planner but you can't enter the winds. the reaction also is you have to enter the winds in the legs page. Then when i read the manual i come up with this"this function is currently not modeled in the 747-400"Am I missing something or is the FMC not the best fuel planner there is. Because when i'm flying long …

LOL, I hope the PMDG version of the MD-11 Load-Manager works better than the one this guy used. Obviously they were loading something as the front cargo hold is open. Will PMDG simulate this as well?:-eekDoes anyone know what actually happened here?http://www.airliners.net/open.file/1050472/L/

It's interesting that while we're waiting for PMDG to finish the MD-11, the basis of the MD-11, the DC-10, will soon have its last flight for Northwest. I saw it on the news wires at work that on Monday, the last Northwest DC-10 flight will land, and then they become history. Those old tri-jets are becoming so rare, though I guess FedEx and some foreign airlines still use the MD-11. But you hardly ever see 727s any more, and L-1011s are just about gone. A few years ago, Delta retired the last L-1011. I took a flight in 1999 in an L-1011 from Fort Lauderdale to Atlanta, and in 2000 took one from Atlanta to Salt Lake City.

I have had a minor problem. It hasn't been too big, but a tad annoying. The descent calculated by the FMC is not long enough, and the plane won't descend faster than 1000 fpm. The reason that it doesn't end in catastrophic failure and me not reaching my destination is that I turn arond in a circle to compensate for the altitude at which I am not at.And, when I try to set the Descent to a PATH descent before the T/D, the FMC switches to a SPD descent after the T/D.In a nutshell, there is not enough space in between the T/D and my destination, and the FMC expects me to drop like a rock, but I can't if the AP won't allow for a descent faster than 1000 fpm. What am I doing …

Available in either AVSIM FS2004-Flight Plans or NavData libraries, latest addition to my collection includes all turbojet departures, arrivals and approaches. SIDs and STARs are provided both as published for use with ATC providing vectors, and with routing to departure gates or arrivals to final approach fixes for those who prefer their own navigation. Complete FAA Preferred routes for KCLT are included and incorporated into the departures. SID and STAR Charts are included in the header of the file to support procedure selection.

I have a question whenever i make a flight and i take off i hit auto pilot and everything is fine except that instead of the plane flying at a IAS speed of 250 before 10000 feet it always stays at IAS 260 wouldnt that be a problem in the real world? am i doing something wrong

Back to FS9 after a couple months with FSX (no FSX compatible squawkbox--and no PMDG (the very BEST). For airline flying, can't beat FS9 with PMDG and Squawkbox3.1.Since coming back it deems that PMDG/AIRAC (navdata)loading takes longer to load than I've seen before on the FS9 menu screen (the PMDG moving slider box loading navdata). As I recall, initial load up times were pretty fast--is this a result of the new navdata--over 100000 fixes loading up etc? Is there a way to speed it up?Thanks in advance.RakeAMD FX-60Nvidia 7950 GX2 (1GB) video4GB ultra low latency DDR RAMRaptor 150GB HDDell 24" wide

I need some guidance in understanding the ACT ECON CRZ page in the FMC.In my current flight, the planned altitude is 330In the ALT ECON CRZ page it states:CRZ ALTFL 330STEP TOFL370STEP SIZEICAOOPTFL301MAXFL344Why does it say STEP TO FL370, when MAX is 344? Is that the maximum altitude it should reach after a sufficient burn, if so, how can I program it to automatically creep up to that altitude as the plane lightens?

Hi, I have just encountered a problem with the fuel page of the 747 FMC. I set up a flight from NZAA to KLAX and set the fuel to well over 2/3 full and entered 50.0 as my reserve. I constantly got an Insufficent fuel message. I then set the tanks to COMPLETELY FULL and the reserve to 99.9 and still got the same message repeatedly. What am i doing wrong? I have given up after 3 hours of trying to fix the problem.

First off, all of the inflight mistakes made were mine. Over the years I have had a number of payware big jets and I have learned to fly them in almost any environment. I have always been able to take information and skills learned on one aircraft and transfer them to the next. Not this time. Although much of the 747-400 FMC/CDU functions similair to the 767-300ER and 737-300s that I own, there is enough differences between the 3 software packages to make this aircraft a completely new learning experience. Somewhere along the flight I did something to the FMC/autopilot system. As I approached KSEA I was unable to tune the ILS approach into the CDU NAV/RAD. I needed to…

Hi gents. Im a real world c40(737-700) pilot and i love the 737 by pmdg. the only problem i have is that in the flare the ground effect is too high from what im used too in the real jet. In the real jet i can raise her up to 6 degrees on the pitch and she will continue to sink and touch softly. is there any way to go inside and tone down the ground effect a little

Hey, just wondering if someone could help me on this. I am quite new to the 737NG which will most likely explain my ignorance but I cant figure out why I keep getting this FMC message. Flew from EHAM to EDDM and tried to descend via LNAV/VNAV. VNAV kept disengaging and LV CHG kept activating over and over again although I was on the correct descent path and as far as I could tell my speed was close to the calculated FMC value. Ended up high on the approach onto 26L and had to abort, grrrrrrrrrrr!!!Thanks for any info Regards: Zsolt

Thei is a prepurchase question.Looked over all the FAQ's etc. It would appear one has to know exactly the name of the Co Route to pull it up and activate, which is to say there is no way to pull up a list in the FMC like other companies implement and then choose one and activate it.There was mention that PMDG was going to develop a utility to do this.Has this occurred?if not is there some practical way to print all of the possible routes to know how to pull them in easily? Thanks,Greg

I have heard many great things about the 747-400, but for me flying with ATC, either the native FS9 version or Radar Contact is an extremely important part of the environment. So I wonder what the philosophy is behind releasing the 747 with no link to ATC [ ie incompatible flight plans and cannot import FS 9 flight plans] beyond being forced to buy an expensive ($USD 40) third party flight planner to export the files in two different formats to synch up with ATC.I guess I kind of resent having to purchase the flight planner add on which brings the outlay to $100 to enjoy this airplane. But maybe I am missing something.Greg

I just downloaded and installed the latest AIRAC (0613) from Navdata. This morning, i went to fly from EGLL to KJFK and noticed that i had no data on my FMS for EGLL - no runways, SIDS or STARS. But i had data for KJFK. Anyone know how i can get my EGLL data back? Thanks.Anthony
