Hi all.Have just finished my first global circumnavigation in the Queen.Routing was Dakar - Fortaleza - Santiago - Perth - Capetown - Dakar.Lightly loaded up with wealthy eco-tourists on the Santiago-Perth run, decided to try the polar route which passes pretty close to S90W180, so figured it would be fun to overfly the pole.(This was done on great circle GPS routes).Approaching this milestone address at about 40NM everything started to go wrong. The FMC reported 'IRS Split Function', a new one for me, and shortly thereafter we flew into an invisible wall. All sounds and seems to be running OK, except you don't go anywhere at all. This must be the edge of the world in FS9…

I am running the 747 which works quite nicely :-). Now I am considering adding the 737 aswell. I know that the installation order is 737 and then 747.Can I leave my 747 installation as is, install 737 and then re-install 747 or do I need to un-install 747 first?What happens with liveries for the 747? Do I need to re-install?/Lars

I just bought the 737ng (600-700)for FS9 and I love it. I have tried installing the add on liveries from the PMDG website and the installer keeps messing up.I direct it to the main FS9 folder to install the livery and it does good until the end and a error pops up saying the installer can not open the aircraft.cfg to edit it, and the installer closes.I have notified PMDG and they said the FS9 root folder should be the place I direct it to, but I tried the specific PMDG folders (700 winglets, etc) but it does not work. I figured I would ask here while I wait for PMDG to respond.I tried this with numerous livery installers and it did not work.These all all direct from PMDG …

I having some problems while in flight, while in cruise i seem to lose airspeed (or wont hold airspeed that set in FMC for that desire flight level example 84.3 at FL340 ) the Vnav switches off and FL CH comes on why does this happen i seem to program the FMC correctly and i use FS Build for planning routes and active sky for my weather any help or advice would be gratefulMichael Troy

Hi AllCould somebody who uses the ch pro analogue padels please tell me how to make them work with the Microsoft sidewinder 3d joystick-the original about 10years old.I have connected everything as per instructions; I have downloaded the latest analogue driver from ch website.In the calibrate box I can calibrate the padels but the joystick does not calibrate-only the slider and the 4 movements are possible -none of the buttons work.When I started a flight the 744 pmdg was veering to left/right on the runway.The power slider does not work and the forward/back and sideways function of the joystick do not work properly-I get wild jerky movements.In ch manual it says you need…

Been loving the 747 series from you guys for a while now and wanted to take my flying to the next level getting to know all the nooks and cranny's.So I recently picked up Mike Ray's real world 747-400 checkride manual from Aerosoft Canada (at a whopping $54 CDN!).All I can say is WOW (and worth every penny)! Captains!Im having trouble and wonder if you have some recommendations. I am taking off and my strategy is to fly the initial part of the take off manual only with auto thrust engaged. Then at app. 3000 FT, I switch to FL CH mode to reach the initial altitute. Thereafter I engage VNAV and LNAV to follow the FMC route. The issue is that while climbing on FL CH mode, the speed mode is not changing from TO2 to CLB. It will stay in TO2 mode even after I have engaged VNAV. As a consequence it is almost impossible to reach cruise altitute because the commanded SPD mode stays at TO2. Only when I press the THR button on the MCP, will the spead mode change to CLB. I have two hard drives one has is has a FAT32 format (i run win 98 on this one) and the other is the NTFS file system (Win XP and my FS system resides on this one). My page file is currently located on the NTFS drive and I suffer from OOMs, would the page file work if I put it on the drive with the FAT32 file system? Thanks!!Richard

Hi,Just bought the 747 (download and I have a couple of questions that are bugging me at the moment.The aircraft works fine on a quick test bimble BUT, on the ground I can't seem to be able to change any of the settings on the MCP. eg. hedding bug to rumway direction, speed, altitude.Also, the fuel load editor is not on the start/programs menu (no entry for PMDG)so I can't access the manual.Thanks for any replies

This is about the only niggle I have with the 744 and it applies to both versions.I always see a mad dive to recover the first 500-1000 ft deviation.(Usually in the region of 3000-3500fpm) Thereafter once the deviation has reduced below 200ft the descent rate slows to a more acceptable 2000-2300fpm I religously set the winds aloft in the forcast page and this happens regardless of whether I have any gates progrommed or not.I seem to remember somewhere an SOP saying 1000fpm above FL300 thereafter as required. Is this anything anyone recognises? it would imply that setting a Manual ROD is the way to go ?David MilesAirbus

Issue: 744 FMC "Step" button (LEGS Page/LSK-6R) does not work on FP activated in RTE-2 pages.Scenario: Now finishing (187nm from T/D) on a multi-leg, multi-continental trip with the 744, I decided to preload this last leg (EDDF -> KATL) in the RTE-2 pages on the FMC prior to landing at my last layover, EDDF. Then during pre-flight at EDDF, I simply activated RTE-2 with the loaded FP and all seemed to work just as well as it always had with a FP in the RTE-1 pages.But, while in-flight on this last leg, I began planning my ILS arrival into KATL (DEP/ARR -> ACT RTE2 ARR), I noticed that the "step" function of the FMC (in PLN mode) does not nothing, it won't budge. …

Hello Boeing crews.This days I am starting my PMDG-747 experience after almost nine months flying the exceptional PMDG-737.I have two questions.1.- It seems the 737 saves flightplans in a *.RTE format while the 747 saves them in a *.RT2 format, and they look not being compatible. Any explanation or solution ?2.- I have not been able to change between BARO and RADIO minimums. When I click on the word "MINS" in the EFIS panel nothing happens, the selection remains always in BARO.Thanks in advance.Jose Luis

Hello,first of all I must say that the PMDG 747 is a great plane. Before I was used to fly the famous PS1.3, however it has just become to obsolte and now the PMDG reaches (almost) the level of PS 1.3. Anyway, here's my problem: I have loaded the Lufthansa livery. During touchdown a crash is suddenly detected and the 'game is over'. This is really annoing after some hours of flying...You can assume that all variables are in the green (such as gear, flaps etc). The crash happens even when landing in autoland mode. I turned off the detect crash mode in FS9, then I can land the queen but I feel that the plane is bumping up and down. Its totally strange. Hello all! I am doing a private repaint for the 744 and can't seem to figure out what is going on with the belly texture. I've ruled out a problem with the alpha channel, and I can't see of any thing else that would be throwing this off. Does anyone have a clue what is going on? I've read carefully several topics concerning ILS autotune but still have the following problem/question:After selecting the ILS RWY on the DEP/ARR page and activate etc... the ILS-freq is SOMETIMES not tuned automatically. ILS-MLS shows PARK on the NAV/RAD page.If I select other RWYs, change the route, even another airport, it won't help: ILS-MLS remains on PARK! Tune the ILS manually is no problem but I like to know whats causing the FMC to refuse SOMETIMES autotuning the frequency.I've the FEELING that autotune works ok if I program the approach in a early stage of the flight. Once the ILS is correctly autotuned, it continues to work correct during the flight.Herman

Hello,I'm a new user of PMDG744.I tried to make a flight from KLAX-RKSI(South Korea) using the North Pacific route.However, the system crashes between 5~7 hours when I pass the Alaska and enter the Russian airspace on G212.When I tried this flight without SquawkBox, i could make the trip, however, with Sqkbox the same crash occured.Using the newest FSUIPC 3.71.
