I'm curious to know how you can predict the altitude when anti-ice is to be switched on during decent (B744, FORECAST Page). I'm no weather expert, so I'm stumped with this. I assume you're somehow supposed to pre-calculate/predict the tops of the highest cloud layer, and that would normally be the NAI on altitude to be entered in the FORECAST page. But...1. I *think* METAR reports do not report cloud layers above FL180, especially when there are already 3 layers listed below FL180. I'm not sure if this is correct? I have noticed that there seems to be an improvement on the whole flightdeck area from spot view for the 747x from the recent turning for finals post. It appears that a bug has been fixed that was present in the 2004 version which made the far side, side flightdeck windows display infront of the actual front windscreen and centre pillar from certain 3 quarter angles, this seems to have gone in the new version but what i was wondering if it was not too late to make a small tweak to the view from out side of the glare shield which i feel appears to be far to small and low enabling you to see the whole upper torsos of the pilots , where as in reality you can realy from my ob…

Hi I am thinking of buying the PMDG 737-600/700 software. On the PMDG website it says (under compatibility) it can be used with FS2002 and FS2004. When you hit the "Buy Now" button the next screen says it can only be used with FS2004. Seeing I have FS2002 can anybody please tell me if it is compatible with FS2002? Also file size is 70MB, I only have dial up, therefore does anybody know where I can purchase it on a CD (providing I can use it on FS2002).Thank you.Gary.

Hi,I have two problems with PMDG 737 600/700/800/900 NG [updates 1.3 and 1.1 + model update]:1. When I am, for example on 34R at KSEA, and I set FMC for KSEA to KSFO with KMORE1 SID {AIRAC 0807}, I have basic disagree between last position of the aircraft and my present position. On ND my aircraft is sitting somewhere far from KSEA. The same problem with all models, reinstall without effect.2. I cannot engage AP A or B after TO, I still hear alarm sound two times. I press i.e. HDG select + FLCH or LNAV + VNAN, then I try to engage AP and it is not possible. I dont know why, all preflight settings are done, I never met this problem with any other aircraft [addon of course]…

I was installing a new united airline livery for the 1900d and every time I do that it crashes my 1900d installation. I hope that the pmdg guys read this because I think there may be an issue with the file. Hi,I am trying to find the culprit for the OOM at LHR we've all been talking about lately. Installed Flightsim Manager and I am horrified how many errors there are in all sorts of aircraft. PMDG B744 come up with just two, and 73x have a couple, too. It's a sad month for South African Airlines, who have now officially grounded all their Boeing 747 type aircraft, and retrenching 80% of it's flight engineering staff.This means SAA will no longer be flying 747's anymore, in terms of their modernization program. Over the last 5 years, SAA has been gradually replacing it's older Boeing fleet with a brand-new Airbus fleet. The 747 has been replaced with A340-600 models. Many older 737's (200/300/400 and 500 series) were gradually replaced a few years back with new 737-800NG models serving the mid-range/regional routes. Oh Revered Flyers of PMDG 747-400,I need some help and finer flying advice on using VNAV. This topic has probably been beaten to death and talked out but I tried what I read before and nothing worked.So here goes...I'm in cruise at FL310 and am starting descent BEFORE the top of descent point on my ND. I dial in 25000 on the alt select, open the FMC VNAV descent page and select DES NOW. The aircraft starts to descend but then levels off at 29xxx and does NOT continue to descend. Hey guys and gals. I finally bought myself this gorgeous plane I have been promising myself for ages! (737 800/900 standalone)All works lovely, except the load manager.I start the load-manager up (FS9 NOT running) and when it comes up, I cannot move the sliders at all, or enter any weights or fuel by typing. In fact, the only things I can click on that work are "save" and "exit"I have tried a full un-install and re-install but I still cannot move those sliders! Can anyone help? It's really frustrating (not to mention the passengers are starting to complain!!) ;-)Thanks Nik
