I have been enjoying the 744X for a couple of days now, and I can only say Wow! Yes there are a few litlte hiccups, but they will all be solved in due time.This is the first complex addon I have tried in FSX, and I must say that it really makes one notice the new features of FSX all over again. I find it is changing that very way I interact with the plane, in small subtle ways. For example, I love being able to smoothly zoom in and out in the VC instead of jumping by set increments. I also likie being able to move back into the upper deck without using any other commercial addons. Another thing that got my attention in this plane more than others, is the head latency…

Can anybody explain to me why the Ground air/power option doesnt exist in my General/Options/Various menu. According to the Aircraft operating manual, page 0-29 it should be there. I cant use external power in the sim.

After years of flying complex add-ons with my huge XPS rig, I finally got the dreaded Out of Memory in the midst of a pre-approach into EGLL in the PMDG 744. Never happened before, ever--sorry it did happen in the CoolSky MD-80 which I no longer fly because of that. Prior to running out of memory, stress was evident in the form of numerous micro stutters around EGLL and London with AI traffic, etc. At 4000' and IAS 220, POOM! an OOM suddenly appears and that's it.What happened today that hasn't happened on 500 prior flights and what should I look to adjust in the sim or on my PC?Thanks!Jonathan

HiWhen I go to outside view and monitor flaps I see pylons come down but no flaps?, cockpit flap indicator works ok. Any one else see this or just my copy.percy.

I tried purchasing 744 FSX using Discover and it gave me some sort of Error 6 currency error. I'm afraid to try again because it might result in a double charge and probably won't work anyway. I don't see anything on my account but there are errors there for other purchases so I don't trust it.I will not use PAYPAL. I've never had problems doing it this way before so what is the problem.Mike

Hi there,I am seriously considering purchasing a CDU from Engravity. I know they have 2 models and I have a few questions for one of the techies at PMDG:1 - Will the relevant software be written to allow the 737 CDU to operate with the upcoming 737NG2 for FSX? I only want to buy one if it works with the new 737 for FSX? While I am on this subject will the CPFlight MCP (which I already have) work with the new 737? I appreciate that it is early in development however!!2 - If I bought the 747 CDU would that be able to operate with the 737? If so what would the limitations be - I appreciate there will be some otherwise I am sure they would not have made 2 models!?Many thanks …

Hi,It seems that the Jetways are not completely aligned with the L1 door whenever I'm at the gate.I assume that FSX has a mechanism to find out where the door is but it looks like that in PMDG model, the Jetway top cover (the part that is reclined above the door) is actually reclining into the aircraft. See attached image.

Hi I own the FS9 and found this bird really fantastic, I will certainly buy the upgrade but I was curious to know what is the new improve.On the release topic there are list of new stuff and change, but there is no screen shot.So if someone could tell me or post the 2D radio panel and the load manager to see if there is some improvement.My problem is with the freq, I am unable to read them, with the load manager I was hope to be able to put value by typing directly it's seems that you can do that now with the fuel entry.I use FSUIPC a lot for setup my yoke, with the new version it's seems they have remove dependency; what is exactly the effect of such decision.Does still …

Perhaps I am missing something obvious, but there seems to be an error in the load manager for the 744F.It only allows me to take on a maximum of 105,690 lbs of cargo. This is even less than the Pax version can carry! By comparison,the FS9 version of the -400F allows a max of 268,290 lbs of cargo. I am very confused. Please help me sort out what's going on.Andrew

I'm performing my test flight right now and I've noticed few differences from the B744 on FS9...1. During take-off roll, using the TO/GA button (the screw in the MCP) the aircraft accelerated so quickly that the readback for V1, Vr, V2 was in less than 0.5 seconds between them... I never seen the B744 accelarated that quickly in FS9 (and I had a much higher frame rate with the FS9).2. During the climb using VNAV, the aircraft ignored the restriction of 250/10000 entered and accelarated to overspeed. Even when I forced to maintain 250 below 10,000 - the fpm rate was sometimes as high as 4,500 or 5,000 - again this was somewhat not realistic. FS9 was more smooth and used to…

I start a flight from KPSP after shutting down all the unnecessary services. In the Task manager I see 1.55Gig out of the Total 2Gigs I have.I go to the 2D view to get the FMC and what not and now the memory has gone to 1.75I am flying over Megascnery X So Cal to arrive at KLAX. I approach to KLAX to land.. I am all set and then Pop! It has busted the 2Gig and CTD.Anyone else running into this issue? What the heck happened to Virtual memory concept at the OS level?Any ideas how to avoid this in XP?Manny

I have finally got round to purchasing the B744X and have recieved my confirmation and am attempting to download from the confirmation link and nothing is happening??I have downloaded other files without any problems,I'm using a download manager, does this cause problems with PMDG files??Regards,James

I am aware from a search that the 744X is not currently compatible with the Engravity CDU, but will be sometime soon.Will users who have already purchased the driver for the FS9 version of the 747 have to pay for it again, or will it be a free update for us?

I'm trying to run 747-400X on my Vista system, but I'm getting some strange problems. The gauges are corrupted, all lights are on, the displays are blank, the nose gear is pointed off at 90 degrees, the body gear is retracted but the wing gear is down. None of the control surfaces move.Restarting FSX doesn't fix the problem. Neither does rebooting the system.I guessed that it's a a possible problem in fsx.cfg and dll.xml but according to the 747-400X FAQ document on your website, they are correct on my system. On approaching John Kennedy ILS 15R I received the "Nav Invalid" message and was consequently unable to land with the help of the APP button.When I checked on the FSX map I found no listing for Runway 15R at KJFK despite the FMC on our new 747X offering 15R as an option. MS is now shifting its focus to FS11. As I understand it from Phil Taylor's blog (see 4th October), we should expect to lose backwards compatibility EVEN for FSX add-ons. However, FSX add-ons will survive into FS11 if they are "pure" FSX generated content, although even these may have to be re-"exported" for FS11 through FS11's own SDK.Obviously no one can possibly predict whether the 747X will work under FS11. But I am intrigued to know whether the 747X would at least pass that particular test? Or does it still have elements left over from earlier editions, which (it seems) might frustrate an easy re-"export" for FS11?RgdsTim Morshead

Hello all, Firstly, great simulation, even though my PC struggles with it I think that as new hardware matures it will give one excellent experience.Now on to my question; I have noticed that whatever I do on the PMDG menu, or for that matter any other addon menu within FS, the settings are never changed [Have tried to get performance enhancements byt adjusting refresh rates/FO display on/off].
