I have read the various posts about this issue and have corrected my dll.xml file (see attached). I still get the fatal error where FSX needs to start over when I select the PMDG 747 and now the LDS 767 gives a fatal error along with the message to reinstall it. Default planes work ok. I installed this on my Acer laptop (Intel Centrino Duo T2300, 1.66GHz, 2 GB RAM, ATI x1400 512 MB, Windows XP Home) and the install went perfectly. However, I tried to install the 747 on my PC (HP Intel P4 3.2 GHz HT, 1 GB Ram, nVidia 6800GT, Windows XP Media Center Edition) to see which computer would run the sim better and I can't get past the fatal errors on this computer.The only dif…

The entry door L1 opens inward instead of outward, very strange. Is this an installation problem or system configuration. I/m using FSX Windows XP SP2, NVIDIA 7950Gt video card. Also the texture on the inside of the doors on the 747-400 are bright white. They are there briefly when switching from full screen to windowed view. VRTodd

HiI want to start flying the FS9 updated version while my FSX is not yet installed. The installer of the 747-400X will not run because it can not find the FSX. How can I update my FS9 Queen with no FSX installed?

I have now flown sevearl flights with the new "Queen" and everything has gone exectionally well. Using Vista 64 as the OS, with a 6700 Cor 2 Duo chip, 7800gtx card 4BG 6700 memory and TrackIR. I get good frame rates (better than in FS9) and the sim is smooth and enjoyable. No OOM reports.There is, however, one problem. In the pedestal view non of the click spots are operable. They are showing, as the cursor changes to a hand, but I cannot operate any swithches, buttons or knobs. Further the CDU is only operable from the Captain,s or Third Officer positions, in all other views the click spots either do not show, or are inoperable.Have I missed something, or if not, is ther…

I am presently using Vista Ultimate as the operating system, but when I have download the new FSX PDMG 747 programme, this is fine, but after loading it up and getting ready to fly, when I start FSX up and select any of the PDMG 747 aircraft, the programme sits or hang for a while and then restarts continually.Suggestions please to this problem.

I am curious about how many pilots are operating the F models.I have had many issues with the freight model.One such issue is getting the cargo doors to open.First, I have read the manual (chapter 13, section 10) and realize that I need to:1) map a key combination for the animation/door action I would like.2) I must have APU GEN 2 or EXT PWR 2 on "AVAIL"I do these things and do not see the doors animate at all. I have tried NOSE DOOR by mapping CTRL + "~" and I have tried NOSE LOADER by mapping SHIFT = "~" and I see no action.FSX/ACC/SP2 crashes for me after every use of the Freighter so maybe that is is. I strongly suggest every 744X owner who uses FSUIPC 4.xx to check if the "Extend battery life" option of FSUIPC (Miscellaneous Tab) is enabled. If it's not checkmarked, do so. For me the value is set to indefinitely (0) Don't know if other values will work also.Some minor problems like- IRS DC EICAS messages- Main Gear doors didn't close- Lights not functioning- ....are solved with this option enabled.Regards,Joerg Alvermann

Is there a different paintkit available for the 400X, most of current one seems to work except engines template is all wrong.At the least could you post a layered PSD for engines for now.

OK, I'm feeling like an idiot. I cannot get the CRTs to fire up. They remain blank and black. I can start all four engines and put in a flight plan and no joy. I reinstalled (inadvertantly I might add) the entire package, no joy. I know it's just something real simple I'm not doing. Have IRS set to "instant" and the CRTs actually configured to LCD. Is that the problem? I might add that if I don't import the "cold and dark" panel state, the CRTs are lit, albeit only on the captains side but in C & D state, I can't get 'em to budge! HiIve just purchased and installed the FSX version of the 747 but i cannot get the flightplans to install. Ive tried uninstalling, and installing or modifying the installation with the check box 'install flightplans' checked but everytime i end up with the 'readme.txt' file in the flightplans folder which says"This folder is where you should place any Flight Plans that you wish to use with the PMDG 747-400.We have included many for your use and you may save them from the FMC as described in the manual.The ones we have created for you can be extracted by running the 747-400 installer again!"There is no other files in the folder, is anyone else having this problem?

I have long ben awaiting the 747X. However, sadly, when I moved over to the UK I could not bring my stationary and now I am using a laptop.Therefore I would like to ask as to what kind of performance FPS-wise I could expect, or whether I should just not bother getting the PMDG.I am currently running a Intel T2080 (Dual core @ 1,73 GHz), 2 GB of RAM and Windows Vista Preimum. I know that there are some issues with Vista, and that XP is recommened, but I don't have much choice at the moment. Having only ever really used the default aircraft I am a bit confused by the auto-pilot system used on the PMDG747-FSX.At the moment I cannot figure out how to use the HDG Hold part of it. I have the A/P and ALT hold engaged and that works fine, however the HDG Hold switch is always illuminated and I cannot switch it off. Also when I want to use it and I adjust the HDG (its 000 by default), the aircraft does not respond even though the switch is illuminated.Edit: On another note, how do I get the flight path as shown in the flight planner to show in the PFD?ThansDan

Hi !My Problems are that the 747 Load Editor and Aircraft Animations.When i set up the load with The Load editor, is doesn't take any effect to the load of my 747 in FSX. I have flown the 747-400x only a few times already and i have noticed a lot of problems with it compared to the FS9 version and im very disappointed. First well start with the cold and dark startup with engines running everytime. Second is the the tcas dont work, neither offline or online(i do have the newest FSUIPC). Third is the Navaids indentifying randomly, some do majority dont. Forth and a MAJOR issue is the plane homes to the next waypoint. I had a 60 kt crosswind at FL310, my initial heading to the waypoint was 002 by the time i reached the waypoint my heading to the waypoint was 075. Hi,Only had a few moments last night to check out the 744X. Man, the factory paint-jobs look so real! Nice job!One thing I did notice was all the passenger interior-door textures were missing. I double checked for all the latest livery versions prior to installing all of them, immediately following the installation of the Queen-X.With all 10 pax doors open, the interior textures seem to be missing as a bright-white color was displayed for the interior of all 10 doors. This looked really strange, especially at dusk, becuase any open-door looked like a bright-white block when folded open against the much darker fusalage behind it.I do not know if this is a one-time live…

HiAfter severl times flight with new PMDG744X, I find myself have a little bit questions about break temperature.I fly 747-400 FS9 verison for a long time, and during the landing I always using autobreak 2, and never get the message of "BREAK TEMP" after plane stop. But this time in 744X, I always got "BREAK TEMP" message on my EICAS. I am wondering if this is abnormal...Second is IRS DC messages, I have no idea why I got this message even I have my 2 APU GEN on, the only way I could slove this is to swith my "standby power" switcher to BAT then back to AUTO. I am currently flying both the PMDG 737 & 747 and I always overshoot my descent profile. I enter the wind in the forecast page, apply drag when prompted by the FMC and reset MCP altitude to the FAF altitude. I do not fly with the FS9 ATC so I do not initiate the descent before or after the T/D prompt. Any help would be appreciated.Mike Gadman

Hey,Just a quick post to let you guys know that, I think the new sound set is absolutely tops. The rumble is amazing, looking at the aircraft all fired up and ready to taxi it really does look and boy.. does it sound like the real thing. The FS9 version was good but I really think this is a massive improvement even on that. The thunder is amazing from the RR engines (mainly fly BA you see).Just thought I'd let you know!CheersCraig

Hello PMDG , allAfter some flights i saw some oscillatingsmostly in VNac decent.This most goes around from 200-500 feetYou see the elevator slowly goes up and down all the timeUsing FSX - Win XP and no weather Engine other than from FSX.And allways the normal weater conditions , no specials.Loading my fuel allways with the loading modul from PMDB optionsand my Payload is set around 80000 lbsHave seen this in Alt Cruise aswell but mutch smaller.I mean the Queen is oscillating allways a little bit up and down.Any one else seeing this issue ??Is this normal ?? Hi PMDG,I bought the B747 FSX and can download the file okay, but when I go to extract it, I get an error about the file being corrupted.Has anyone else had this issue?I've used both winzip and winrar but not luck?Note, I've downloaded the file 3 times now with the same results?Thanks,Ed Grabel
