I can't remember how to activate the "screw" above and between the F/D lever and the A/T ARM levers in order to initiate the take off roll.Consequently I control the throttle manually. Please.......... how do I set up so that the engines react to the "screw"?Cliff

Evening all,After having not flown the 744 for a while i took her for a test ride today. All was well apart from a TCAS problem - I must have had about 50-60 AI aircraft around me but only those within roughly a 1mile radius of my aircraft were showing up on the ND. Ive made sure the "Show all traffic" is ON - It is, and ive reinstalled FSUIPC (Registered v3.75) but no luck.Any help appreciated,Cheers,Nathanial

To PMDG Staff.I started printing the Manual and on pages 0-15,016, "Save Panel State Menu:", the panel shows the 747-400 Type Rating saved panels.That will lead 747X Captains to believe that these lessons will work in the 747X. Until you write new lessons for the 747X, it would be best to revise these pages showing some 747X panels instead of FS9 Lessons. OK, I know that you will rewrite the lessons for the 747Xwhen time is available.While we are on this subject, how about changing the Downloads/Documentation, of the current 747-400 Lessons, to identify them as FS9 only.Some of us RTFM.Kindest regardsBill Taylor

Gents,I understand that the FS9 update coming witht the FSX version of the queen is a bonus for your customers. But can please someone from PMDG calrify which of the updates which are mentioned in the FS9 update readme file are implemented?As far as I can see the options to shutdown the copilot side screens, the option to change the RA callouts & approaching minimums, the ability to change the fuel by writing instead of using the cursors are not inplemented at the FS9.By reading the readme I understand that these are implemented.ThxChris

I put SHOW_BRAKE_MESSAGE=0 in the FSX.CFG and it seems to break the parking brake logic within the aircraft.When I have that in the cfg, the annoying FS message is gone, but so is the PARK BRAKE SET message and the warning callout and also the 2D click spot on the Throttle no longer works.This one of those "Microsoft did it wrong" things we have to live with? I really hate seeing that red text message at the bottom of the screen.Ray

Hi,I have a problem to maintain the indicated speed on my FMC.Whenever I level off (FL330 in my case) and Thrust limit changes to CRZ, it seems that N1 is set for 101.7 as max. This is not sufficient to maintain the CRZ settings which was inidicated in my FMC VNAV page (CRZ ALT = FL330, SEL SPD = .842, OPT alt = 341).In these settings I'm loosing speed slowly and the only way I could maintain speed at about .808 Mach was by selecting the CON thrust limit (or turning off AT and maintain higher N1 of about 109 or so).If FMC is recommending the Optimal alt and speed, why the thrust limit is not sufficient to maintain speed at that (or lower) altitude?Never had a problem lik…

Hi PMDGTomorrow will be the 5th day the 747-400 FSX doesn't run because dll.xml problem now also the Load manager of the 747-400/400F and 737 NG for FS2004 doesn't work. Whats going on with this, really, strange software????I'm tired with all this problems. Solve me please the Load manager for 737 NG and 747/400 PAX and F on FS2004. Becaus FS9 still runs, but I can't start the load manager for any FS9 PMDG aircraft. And for the 747-400 FSX refund me the money on my credit card.Help please soonRegards Marcel

Hello,I had not used my PMDG (737/747) for sometime when i yesterday noticed that my 747 was not at any time on course, it was constantly roughly 15 degress of course in LNAV mode, even between short sectors.This obvoisly has a technical rather than natural epxlanation but i cant figure out what. Please read the following.1. En route between KIAD and EGLL and around KEWR i noticed this.2. I then stoped the sim and placed my 747 on various runways, such as KEWR, ESSA, EGKK and the same thing happens. It has to be the 747-400X for FSX.Also- you NEED to be running the installer "as Administrator" and the same with FSX - they NEED to be running "as administrator" or you'll have no end of troubles.

Created a flight plan with RouteFinder EGLL-KSFO today. For North Atlantic sector the plan was ---SHA-BURAK-DOGAL-54N020W-54N030W-54N040W-53N050W-HECKK-YAY---. Had quite a lot of difficulty in determining the format for latlon waypoints but found that e.g. 54N20 was accepted by CDU for 54N020W, etc. On take off, I was repeatedly warned of insufficient fuel, but, what the heck, this is a test! So took-off successfully.Then I noticed that leg was showing over 3000 nms from DOGAL to 54N020W so used REF NAV DATA to determine where FMC thought 54N20 is. It thinks that it is at N54 0.0 W119 60.0 (somewhere in Alberta, Canada). 53N50 (my last latlon before HECKK showed as N52 13…

Using the quiet adjustment to turn down the loud engine sounds works fine on all outside views. But it has almost no influence to the very loud engine sounds in the cockpit view which is very disturbing.Am I missing something?Robert

When using the FSX version of load manager and loading full cargo onto the cargo 744, a zero fuel weight of 479,576 lbs is produced.When using the FS9 version of load manager, a full cargo for the cargo 744, a zero fuel weight of 634,976 lbs is produced.Whats going on ?Fergus

Hello PMDG your 400x is really a queen and a dream!But I have mentioned a Problem! I want to simulate a cold and dark cockpit situation. Therefore I loaded the 400x cold and dark panel state. Everything is fine but I noticed that the Engines are still runing like before. So I switched them off!After setting up the OVHD Panel with your operating manual I started the engines. Now the EICAS display shows that N1 and so on is increasing but there was no sound of starting Engines. Immediately I switched outside ahead of the wing and there was NO engine running altough the EICAS reveals that they should run! Please help me I tried everything but it won't workI don't know how to…

Your 747 FSX has apparently porked my FSX installation. I read the FAQ and posts about this and I tried to open the DLL.XML as suggested but it will not open in Notebook or XML editor.Please don't tell me that I have to reinstall FSX, Acceration + all of the addons that I have on it now.:-fume I have all of your previous releases and have never had any problems.Need help!!!!!!!!!Mike

I plan on getting a nice new 8800 GTS (or ultra) card for X-mas (if my wife will let me ) but until then I was wondering if someone could point me in a direction to help my performance, just so I can enjoy this beautiful plane until then...Right now I get about 6-8 FPS with the 744X on the ground and about 15 in the air.The Default 737 gets 18 FPS on ground and about 20 in the air.Default Cessna gives me about 15-20 on the ground and 25-30 FPS in the air.I was wondering if this is on par with my system or if there is something I could do. I ask this not as a criticism, but purely out of curiosity.I noticed that in the FSX version, the dome light is only available when at least one engine is running. This was not the case in the FS9 version. I presume that this change is simply a step toward improving realism, but I would like this confirmed form someone on the team, if possible (just to make sure that it's not just me). If this is realistic, could someone explain why the dome light would be made unavailable when the aircraft is running off ground power or APU power. I understand why it would not be available when running on battery power, but I would have thought the APU/groud power generator could han…

HI ALL, I need help with FSX pmdg b747 when entering speed and altitude constriants. Once I have contructed a flight plan within the FMC. I'm getting an invalid entry on the FMC. For example: I type in altitude /36000 in the scratch pad and then point it to the waypoint I like to select and replies with an invalid entry...I have tried using speed and altitude.eg xxx/xxxxx or xxx/flxxx and still doesn't work...What am I doing wrong??????munga1
