Hi guys,It's only a minor thing but to be true to the spirit of simulation, the outboard ailerons did not move when flap are up during preflight control checks.In real 747 400, I think they do move during control checks even when the flaps are not selected.What do you reckon? PMDG?

I have been unable to complete a flight with the PMDG 747X under autopilot control. It has been a very frustrating experience. I have used the FS9 version for several years and have had no problems at all. I have installed the latest version of the 747X after uninstalling the initial release and deleting the simobjects folders. I have input a flight plan into the FMC and performed the initialization and setup. Sometimes when the autopilot is engaged it begins proper VNAV and LNAV tracking and sometimes it does not. Hello simmers.when i take off and connect my Autopilot, it disconnects with the following message:"AP DISCONNECT excessive control column deflection"FMC is proper programmed and no other messages displayed.What did i do wrong and how can i connect my AP again?Please explain this for me as a newbie. I am using FS9 and PMDG 744 CD Version, I am looking to see if anybody could recommend an ACARS add on utilty for FS9, one that doesn't require you to have an Internet Connection.I am looking for one that I can access through the PMDG CDU ACARS page.Appreciate any help as to were I could start.Thank you.

Hi,Most likely a dummy question:Approaching and would like to do a "manual" ILS approach, ie. not following procedures or using what has been (otherwise correctly) input to the FMC.How can I set the ILS frequency on NAV 1 manually? I believe I've found where to set in on the radio stack, but it is not adjustable (inactive push buttons).Thx,aro

Hello,at first I would like to mention, that this bird is a really excellent one. Awesome work, PMDG :-)But I've a few questions about this airplane:-I deactivated the Virtual Cockpit via the Load Manager, but everytime I press A in the FSX, I'm sitting in the VC which is completely loaded-When shutting down/starting the engines, the fan blades have a wrong behaviour. In the FS9 version, the engines start correctly, but in FSX they don't. They're spinning fast and stop suddenly. Last weekend we did 2 longhaul flights using the 747-400 Pax version,the route was KLAX-YSSY & YSSY-FACTWe were using Active Sky....and with the headwinds we just were not going to make it with our onboard fuel....we used the Load Manager and reduced the payload....and had max fuel on departure at both airports....we are talking 14-16 hours and the distance is within the range...but the time in the air is the problem....is there any way you can fly these sort of hours with the PMDG 747s???? I'm flying IRL from Glasgow to Gatwick next week and thought I'd fly it first in the 737NG. I put the route into Routefinder and got this:EGPF SID DCS UN615 HON UN859 KIDLI STAR EGKK and in UK Route got this:-DCS UN615 LAKEY DCT KEPAD UA34 TELBA A34 KIDLI WILLO3B EGKKSo, two routes more or less the same (although not sure why there is a difference - unless they are using different AIRAC cycles), my question is:-Surely for a runway 26 landing at Gatwick, you wouldn't be routed west of London and Gatwick with an anticlockwise flight right around the west and South of Gatwick. I purchased PMDG-747 and with out problem installed and made some training flights.Today, I was experiencing some major problems. Kewr - KTOL flight was very smooth, but the problems developed at the last moment when was cleared to land. MY CH-Yoke and Pedals froze.( later on I flew with LDS 767 and my yoke/pedals functioned with out any problems, I also made a calibration test on all the numbers) 747 Plane was on AP , ILS freq appeared on the screen, I clicked several times LOC and APP mode and F/O verified,but no connection lights appeared and LOC/APP mode didn't function. To date I have been unable to start the FSX 400F from C&D. I have checked my switches many times, re-installed and tried several diferent options from full C&D to closing down just one engine whilst at the gate and then attempting a restart.It appears that when the starter switch is pulled the valve feeding bleed air into the engine does not open - even with 30+ bleed air in the duct, when I pull the starter the light does not come on, there is no airflow shown on the ECS page of the lower EICAS and no engine rotation.Note this only applies to the 400F - the 400 pax is fine and follows the procedures in the manuals exactly.I have tried PM Ops and a search here wi…

Hi guys,Just a quick question regarding the FSX acceleration pack. I have noted that the 744X is compatible with the pack, but my question relates to the installation sequence.I already have the 744X loaded with SP1 installed. Can I just install the acceleration pack or do I need to remove the 744X first and then re-install?

Just curious, how can I determine which version is installed. As soon as I saw the post for the newest version, I downloaded it and all the liveries again. After completely removing the 747 and liveries, I installed the package and all liveries again. Before approach (in FS9), I select the APPROACH REF page and select the flaps/speed for landing, and it inserts the REF in green on the speed tape. Then as I descend toward the approach point, I see UP in green and then the flaps sequentially are annunciated on the PFD tape as I select the next flap setting. After selecting flaps 20, however, there are no more flap annunciations on the tape during approach, there's just REF. Am I missing the little green annunciation for flaps 25 and/or 30? Jonathan

I have been flying the 736-37 for a few years on and off. After always using the auto pilot to flying the final ILS approach, I have gotten bored of just sitting there and letting it fly all the way down. So, the other night I took the 737 up for a some ILS approaches to hand fly. I started off by just using the AP maintain the localizer and airspeed while I controled the glide slope. The questions is, when I get to around the last mile or so, should I manually disconnect the auto throttle and CMD A button for the auto pilot, or leave the auto throttle on? When I land and start to take off again for another go around while the tires are on the ground I get an annoing beep…

The list of Flight Plans included with the PMDG package is a useful, great idea.However there are many Plans in the list that are unfamiliar to me by reading their airport codes only.The only way to find out is to take each Plan one by one, to identify the relevant airports and then make a separate written list with entries such as "LAXSFO001 = Los Angeles to San Francisco"It's a list that I suspect is too long for many of us to deal with and consequently aren't benefitting from it as much as you and we would like.May I ask you to consider adding the airport names to each Plan?Cliff

Right...long time surfer through here.Been watching the PMDG line for years.Took the leap into the FSX PMDG 744.Wonderful product, my compliments. /suck up mode off. ;-)I have FSX/SP1/Acceration with My traffic 5.1 which runs fine just prior to installing the PMDG.FSX starts up then gets to the AIRAC runway loading then FSX just shuts off with no errors. Just disappears. I have tried the dll.xml fix.Ideas please?Thanx.Chris Honke

If I install FSInn again so that I can fly on VATSIM, the TCAS seems to stop functioning both in VATSIM and FSX Multiplayer. (I have 'show all traffic' enabled.) It will start working again in FSX Multiplayer if I uninstall it and tweak my dll.xml file. Can PMDG tell me if they are trying to fix this issue and I will leave FSInn uninstalled (as it is now) until a fix is released?Are PMDG also able to fix another issue I have discovered? If somebody flies an add-on aircraft in FSX Multiplayer, (and maybe VATSIM but I cannot confirm at present - FSInn is uninstalled) which you have installed, they will not appear on TCAS (including the 747X)? I have had to re-purchase the PMDG 747-400F as I seemed to had corrupt files....parts of the panel were missing....and my extended download had expired.....I deleted the old "F" from my system,(I should have left the desktop icon) downloaded and installed the new one.....but could not locate the "Load Manager" I did a complete search on my system....and all I found was the the Load Manager for the "Pax" 747-400(which I have a desktop icon)....no 747-400F...any help....as I plan doing some long haul flights and need to config the cargo load....and carry more fuel....which brings me to another problem I have encounted using the "Pax" version...you are pushing it to fly from…

In the 2D cockpit the scrollwheel can be used to change various settings quickly (eg, altitude / heading/ speed settings on the MCP). But in the virtual cockpit it has no effect. Is this by design?
