hi,having problems with the aircraft options in FSX after re-installing using the updated version. none of the options i make seem to take any effect and are just discarded when i click "ok". trying to change CRT to LCD and enable ground power for example. anyone else come across this?adam

What I look for in my simming is the ability to crank my sliders to the max and still have extremely fluid simming. To this end I am stil using FS9. I have a pretty descent system that allows me to do that at most airports in FS9, however at some of the more complex (payware & freeware) ones i still see some stuttering due to extremely low frames. For eg, I did a KDFW-EDDF turn with the 744, I was able to hand fly the ILS to EDDF (aerosoft) but i would like to get the sim running just a notch smoother. Captains-I had blogged about this as I had come across the problem back in June while the 747-400X was in beta testing... I am reposting it here as it might help a couple of you who are facing issues with FSX not asking to trust our PMDG DLLs regardless of what you do.I also added it to our Wiki library under "FSX Trust DLL Policy" in case you feel like looking it up there...(Thanks to Steve Patrick at Spat's Weblog for this)A few users are reporting that Flight Simulator X will not ask them to trust the PMDG DLLs (and will subsequently crash when loading the PMDG 747-400X). Hello Simmers,My experience with 747x under FSX(Sp1) Windows XP and Vista(32) on short hauls.I saw some strange behaviours!!Systems: XP(sp2) and Vista both equiped with Core 2 Duo E6700, 2gb memory and ATI 1900 videocard.1) After take off the plane climb very fast (quick accelaration) it takes only one-third/half of the runway and even the landing the plane needs only a minimum of the runway. It looks like if the plane is empty. The load of the plane is ZFW = 540000lbs and 100000lbs of fuel. I check all the settings. Payload and Fuel figures looks the same as in the loadmanager. FMC has the correct settings. Test the loadmanager with FSX running and without and saw no dif…

Hi, does the FMC somewhere give out a runway length value needed for takeoff based on the weight of the aircraft? Im asking because i tried to take off with a MTOW from El Alto just to test out if i would get any warnings, yet this did not happen...Thanks, Igor

When loading a saved mid-flight situation, I find that I can restore everything as it was except my 2D cockpit. 3D cockpit works OK. Try as I might, I cannot get the 2D cockpit panel to show. Just the view out of the windshield and a blank bottom half of the screen. The Overhead panel restores beautifully to my second screen, no problems.There is no way that I can fly EGLL-KSFO in a single session, so this is a show-stopper.Help!Cheers, Richard

I fly the update version of 744X, but every time when I land my plane, I find autobreak doesn't work, even I selected it to 2 or 3 position, it will automatic swich to disarm postion as soon as the main gears touch down.I am using CH Pro Pedals with Hotas Cougar joystick, so I wonder if this is caused by my CH pedals coordinate with FSX or it is a bug from 744X?

What is the best flight planner to use with the 747x. I am looking for a planner that adds both alt and airspeed to the 747X FMC. Dave

Hi,I have a flight plan created with FSBuild 2.2 which I load into the 747 FMC. I've just completed a few flights in the 737NG and have been reminded after you have mastered the complexities of the aircraft's system what a pleasure it is to fly did some mannual approaches and it's an absolute joy, the Landihng mode view is great.I have previously had Windows XP 64 Bit Pro and could not get the CD based version to install.I am now contemplating a Vista machine with Vista 64 bit edition. Will I also face the same installation issues with the 737 on fs9? or does a work around exist.Thanks in advanceRoy Hinds

Hi,The load manager for the 747-400 FSX does not save the load information for the next time after I hit the "save to file" button.It does change the load/fuel for the current flight - but if I exit FSX and then reload it, the payload goes back to the original default load.I have uninstalled, reinstalled and run the repair option for the 747-400.I am also one of the users having the problem with the A/P not lining up on the runway during an ILS approach. The ILS heading is off by the deviation amount and the A/C doesn;t track the magenta line in the ND. I have been fighting for almost a week now with a very strange issue. Here is the history and I will try to be as complete as possible. I purchased 747X and installed it. When it would not run, I checked the PMDG support pages and found the info regarding the dll.xml files. At the time of install of the 747x I had the following add on aircraft installed: 737PIC, ERJPIC, Citation X, 777 PIC, Australian Sim Glass AIR 3, and Captain Sim 757. There were plenty of oportunities for any one of these planes to screw up the dll.xml. I followed the suggestion of the support page, uninstalled 737 PIC/747X and reinstalled them 747 firt. 747 fired up and worked great. However …

Hi all,I installed and have more or less been flying the sim. No flights finished yet, all CTD'd just at or after TOD (sorry, Crashed To Desktop, Top of Descent). I'll get those figured out. However, my real question is, where are the other liveries for the 747X? All that installed were the PMDG house livery. Dear all,I have my FSX 747 running fine. However, I still use my FS9 as my main sim. Since buying the FSX version and the update for FS9 , the FS9 version has stopped working!FS9 runs as normal, all other add ons are working, however with the 747 it starts to load, airac data etc then just a blank screen - after 2 mins then FS instructs that there has been a problem annd to start again.It was working fine until the FSX patch that came with the new a/c. I have no problems with the FSX version...ThanksAndrew

I have today, just download the 747-400 for FS9 and whilst installing, I discover a 'RunTime Error' which always stops at Sid-StarsKLGB.When I press OK it terminates.Anyone know of a fix please.BTW I have loaded the 747-400 without the Sid/Stars and it works normally. I normally have my TCAS so that it displays all the traffic in my area. I checked in the menu and that option is still enabled but only conflicting traffic shows. Also, I can't uncheck the option to limit TCAS to display a certain number of aircraft (which I tried to do in hopes it would fix everything). Hi,I've just purchased the B1900C. When I click the download link it downloads a single .exe file called pmdg_express_B1900C.exe. When I run the file it quickly flashes up a DOS style window and then, nothing happens. Is there something simple I'm missing or is there a problem with the file?Regards,Jonathan Skogstad

Is it please possible to change the behaviour of the load manager to respect the selection of the weight in PMDG Options?At present it defaults to Lbs even though the sim is set for Kg so sometimes when I forget I get caught short.Or maybe save the selection somewhere.Have also noticed that always start a new flight with how much was left over from the previous flight and not how much the saved file says and forced to run the load manager each time.John Veldthuishttp://www.virtualpilots.org/signatures/vpa475.png

Hi,What kind of performance improvements are the -400X owners seeing on their newly updated FS9 -400?The change list mentions optimizations to lessen the load on the system, does this manifest itself in frame rates or smoothness?
