I seem to get the sounds of the cockpit, (Packs and rush of air inside the flight deck) on the outside of the aircraft in spot view?I don't hear the sounds I should be hearing and in 'flyby mode its still the same?Can anyone shed some light on this please?With my FS9 version the sounds are exactly right.

I am trying to program the FMC for a transatlantic flight from EHAM to CYYZ and have assigned 2 waypoints for the oceanic crossing. Unfortunatley, the FMC will not accept the long format or the short form entry in accordance with the instructions detailed in the PMDG 747-400 Aircraft Operating Manual (Ref: Section 12, pages 29-30). The FMC generates the error message: Not in Database. I understand this problem was identified when PMDG first released the FS9 version of the Queen several years ago.Please advise.Greg.

Every flight I have taken so far I see the EICAS warning message "Engine Rev Limit exceeded" for a split second when reaching selected speed.I don't see the msg mentioned in the manual and just wondered if this is normal?

I'm going nuts. Part of the sound reproduction from FS9 has stopped. Sometimes I can get it started again, but most of the time, the ATC and pilot voices are lost in a high static background.Here's what happened (I think). I installed FSX on my P4 2.5GHz Dell box (2G Ram, ATI Radeon 9550/x1050 256K Video Card, Creative SD Live! 24 bit sound card). Several more simple applications ran fine under FSX (i.e., the Cal Classic DC6), but when I installed the new PMDG 744 app, the performance wasn't what I expected. I have a problem with the 744X which happens frequently and reproduceably.Whenever I do something out-of-sim (like checking the map), V NAV disconnets, but this seems to be only a symptom rather than the problem itself. Right now, for example, I checked the map, then clicked CANCEL (no changes made). V NAV instantly disconnected (although it's still lit up), throttle was reduced to almost nothing and there was an FMC message saying MAX ALT 16500. I reactivated V NAV, and the throttle went up to 103.2 N1. We're keeping the cruise altitude of FL340, but at only .791 mach (not increasing at all) and around 4.8 degrees flare. OK, so last night, just messing around, not taking things so seriously as to calculate weight vs. landing distance etc. I flew from SKBO to SEQU in the 747X (Which I must say to PMDG is the most brilliantly designed aircraft ever made for FS ..THANKS)Anyhow, taking off from SKBO with 1/3 fuel thinking weight might be a consideration at higher altitudes and such I lined up on the ILS for 35 and with autobrakes set to max and flaps to 25 with an approach speed of 174. I am at a total loss here, I just did a re-format WinXP re-install, and after a full day of install, I installed my 737-600/700 (Only), and went to create a flight plan from KORD to KDEN, but when the aircraft loaded (pre-flighted ready to load navdata) and fly, I did not have any functions in the 2d PFD/MFD the only item clickable was the autobrake setting, am tired and frustrated, what have I done wrong, should I have installed the 800/900 version too, According to the manual rhe 600 installer is a standalone product, also other than this aircraft just the Level D 767 is the only other aftermarket installed. Hi Guys,I've been using the 747X for a few weeks. I have the update installed which fixed many issues for me. The one thing I can't seem to get any better is the 2D panel performance.I have disabled the VC via the load manager, and don't have plans to use it.In the 2D panel, I get a max of 9-11FPS while on the ground, and 13-14 while at FL200. Note that the Navigraph installer for the FSX 747-400X navdata is still putting the files in the wrong place. Simple fix is to move them from "Microsoft Flight Simulator XFMCWPNAVDATA" to "Microsoft Flight Simulator XPMDGNAVDATA" (6 files).Richard Stefan has a note posted on his forum that he is out of commission for awhile recovering from dental surgery. Perhaps he'll solve this minor problem next cycle.

Can someone please help ?I have a problem in engaging the autothrottle - sometimes it wouldn't engaged and I have to fly without it being engaged so one can imagine how cautious on has to be to keep speed.The next question is when one lands on a runway like LICD where there is no ILS approach what is the best way to land? Do excuse my question perhaps some of you consider this a silly question but I am still learning. Thanks

I have both B1900 versions, B737-6/7/8/9 and the B747 all for FS9. How can I tell which upgrades I have for theses a/c?

I keep getting a fuel disagree between the calculated amount and what is reading on the fuel page in the EICAS. Is there a way I can adjust it in the FMC. I am not able to adjust it on the PERF page.

As part of the FSX purchase, but not necessarily install of FSX. I'm gonna eat some crow and purchsase the 747X, provided no real issues are being reported by anyone who uses it in FS9. I do not run FSX and may not for a while.

Hi all,I get some stranges behavior with new 744X :Aligned at LFRS/RW03 for an IFR training. Route from LFRS to LSGG is inserted into the FMC but will not used since I want to perform comeback to LFRS.1) Takeoff is started, Auto Throttle is engaged. Altitude is set at 10000, speed 250kt.At 1000 ft : central CMD, FLCHG and Heading sel are engaged. Pb : the AP does not respect speed, nor altitude ! It continues increasing vertical speed to 4000 ft/min and don't care about stick shaker and stall ! :-eek At 10000 ft, it continues to climb altrough "altitud alert" callout ! :-hmmmHeading is ok and maintained as set.Whats wrong ??

Hello,I may have overlooked at this already, but does anybody know where the command key combinations are? Example Engage/Dis-engage A/T, TOGA, ETC. Where are these commands for the 744X located at? I'm trying to program them to my joystick. ThnxGus

Can anybody help me, please?When I start the PMDG747 (fs9) running, the floating EICAS works well, but when I start from Cold and Dark it won't commute among its views. Hi-Wondering what others are doing for NAVDATA updates. I follow 3 steps- first the Navigraph (payware) AIRAC, then PlanePath's SIDs/STARs for PMDG, then Dan Downs individual updates. Chris sent me some procedures for Europe/UK that were simply marvelous- lost his email somewhere in the transition to Vista.As far as the NaviGraph AIRAC, I generally update every 2nd or third cycle- seems more cost effective- unless I know there has been a change for routes I fly.Are there any other sources that I should be considering on a routine basis?TIA!Carl F. Hi, Sometime the FS9 menu bar disappears flying 744 in FS9, especially when flying in VC mode and switching from and to VC mode. When the problem begin, the screen ususally flashs for about a few seconds then the menu bar disappeared, and I can no longer get the menu bar back and lose all the option such as save (even if I press ;) or exit ( need to use ALT CTRL DEL and force it to stop). After I quit FS9, my computer start behaving strangthly. (e.g. Firefox doesnt start..) I also notice that it happen most frequently when I am using non high end graphic (8600GTS), and the problem happens less when using 8800GTS.Have any even had same problem with me?Many thanksben
