I've been trying to work up my knowledge on the PMDG 747-400X (Fantastic aircraft!) and I am now trying to figure out routes. I know the basic information of the .rt2 files is as follows:// rt2 version, route name, and generated date (commented out)Number 1Departure ICAONumber 2Arrival ICAONumber 3-Departure ICAO-waypoint 1waypoint 2waypoint ..waypoint final-Arrival ICAOWhat I can not figure out are the meaning of numbers 1, 2, and 3. If someone could enlighten me, I would greatly appreciate it.Best Regards,John

Gentlmen,When load and unpause the saved Flight, the PanelState etc. are correctly reproduced the saved condititions; however, it seems that the Fuel only are loaded from the Previous Flight condition.Is this very inconvenient and incorrect? Sincerely,Kan-ichiro Fushihara

I read some folks were having to reinstall FS9 after installing PMDG 747X, but I may be mistaken.Until I get a decent computer for FSX I will be sticking with FS9 but wanted to buy to 747X with FS 9 upgrade while the upgrade price is still around.How prevalent is the issue of damaging Fs9 with 747X, or is it just reinstalling the 747? I prefer not to risk either of courseThanksGreg

Hi all,I have just started using the B747X (& FX) & all is wonderful except one thing. I can't seem to save the panel states.I set up the panels as I require, call up Save Panel States from the PMDG drop down list & I click New to get the box which asks me to enter the name & description.I enter the name & description but get an error saying "ERROR- cannot create file" when I click SAVE.Any ideas??Peter

Since reinstalling the 737NG on a new machine two sound files do not function: PMDG_fire_bell and PMDG_minimums. The files work fine when accessed through the file manager and played, but are not activated when they should be while the program is running. All other sound files work fine. I have tried reinstalling again to no avail. Is this something I should be able to fix?Peter.

You spammed me for the 747X telling me I am qualified for a 50% discount (which I am) but when I go to order it the discount is not applied even though I use my valid account info with you. You go on to say that I must contact PMDG product support if the discount is not applied and since this appears to be the only avenue to do that here it is.

I have a saved flight of the B737NG at KIAD 1L. When I re-load it, sometimes I find it loads me into the Cessna at KSEA 34R (!); other times, it loads normally at KIAD 1L but no gauges appear in the cockpit forward panels.A good friend of mine has a similarly bizarre affair with a PMDG B744 saved flight. He saved it at KATL but when he reloads it, he finds himself in the Cessna at KSEA 34R--just like me!What is going on here? Jonathan

I wondered whether someone could give me advice witth some problems I am having.I have a new vista laptop and I have installed the PMDG 737 NG on it.I have remembered to install the updates but I have the following issues:1.On the PFD, the magnenta altimeter reads '100' for both 1000ft and 10,000ft. On my old XP computer, the magnenta would read 1000, 5000, 10,000 etc. This install reads 100, 200 etc.2.On the 'About' screen, my vista version reads something like 2.4 whereas my XP version was something like 3.2. I noticed also that the 'options' screens are different.3. Lastly, and this is not a PMDG issue, can someone tell me where the FS9 joystick assignments are saved b…

Graham-It is a known item- and it will be corrected at the next service update. (Date pending...)For now, the simple solution is to make a backup copy of the dll. FWIW: your post makes the communication sound unfriendly- in fact Wade himself noticed it quite by accident and dropped me an email on it. I know it doesn't support the community driven coke vs. pepsi drama position- but we're actually good friends with the guys over at LDS. (In fact- someone remind Daryl that a) I have incriminating photos of him, and :( The LDS FS9 installer did the exact same thing to us a few years ago. There is a joke buried in this error someplace. ;-)

Strangely, the defaultB747w/FS2Crew doesn't have the same freeze.So, is there a simple way to load a MS FSX-generate flight plan into the PMDG FMU in less than geologic time?Thanks,dan davison

I love the PMDG 747-400 and how much detail the team have put in the aircraft, though the only downside is the fps and it is a very big one =(I'm only getting average 9-10fps with my system(all settings to low). Other 3rd party products i'm getting average 30fps and FSX orginal aircrafts at ~50fpsMy system P4 3.2Ghz, 2GB ram, ATI X1950 512mbAnyways i just want to see what's the fps you guys are getting with your system.Also Is there any tips to boost the fps and make the game playable? I have a clean installtion of XP just for fsx so therefore i dont have any antivirus or any other software installed.thanks

Today, I was flying with apparent full A/P control but without being able to light any of the A/P buttons from immediately after takeoff onwards. PFD displaying SPD, LNAV, VNAV PTH and aircraft responding correctly.Peculiar!Cheers, Richard

I tried a search for this but it was 34 pages so I am going to ask.I have an understanding that in the US you must remain below 250kts below 10000 feet. When climbing out in the 744 heavily loaded for a flight from KSFO to EDDF my VNAV climb speed was 275 which when it reached that speed it allowed me to retract my flaps completely. If it had not gone to that speed I may have had remain in flaps 1 all the to 10000 feet. Is permission given to very heavy aircraft to go above 250kts without getting busted?Thanks

I was hoping to report my first complete flight EDDK-KSFO. All was going so smoothly and well, once I have turned off overything else that I can think of - my task bar has only my network and sound volume icons on it now! But...I have tried many times to restart a long-haul from the Load menu under Flights, and each time I am initially getting a situation where the aircraft is below cruise altitude and commanded speed. The flight then gradually recovers both, but then goes on to climb way above the cruise level and speed gradually climbs to around .966M and I get the overspeed warning. The aircraft then gradually recovers its cruise level but speed will not drop. Eventual…

Maybe someone can answer this question for me.Originally when PMDG produced the 747-400, only GE engines were simulated and engine instruments reflected GE where power is set by N1. Recently, a friend of mine who has both the pax and freighter version told me that all engines types on the 747-400 are now simulated correctly, eg RR is a triple spool engine and should have an N3 indication and RR and PW power is set by EPR which is displayed.So my question is this. My software installation is current (as per the free updates). Do I have to purchase the freighter version to get these updates? Hell0-I just reformatted and am reinstalling everything. I came across an annoying little problem. All of the little aircraft images on the select aircraft page are messed up after the first B1900C. I am running FSX and before the reformat, it just displayed the blank no image available box for the 1900 aircraft but now it just seemingly randomly picks an aircraft images.Then, following the B1900 aircraft, all the rest of my planes are messed up too. Anyone have any ideas how this happened? I have tried removing all the B1900 planes from the Airplanes folder and that fixed the problem so it has something to do with the B1900s.Thanks

There's a waypoint in my flight plan on the west African coast located at N13:43:39 W13:39:50 named TD (Tambacounda). Apparently, the FMC thinks waypoint TD is the top of the decent as it highlights it green and the yellow TDZ alert comes up.I used FSBuild for the flight plan from DNMM to KMIA.Thought I might want to point this out to see if it's worth a look for you.http://forums.avsim.net/user_files/181415.jpg
