I was wondering if it possible to implement the "old" panel from PMDG 744 pax to "new" F version ??why because i prefer the use of this panel but never tried to implement onto the cargo version ...any tips or helps about that.truly yoursPhil

Gidday fellasPretty much headline says it all I obviously run 2monitors an i can get the overhead, FMC, Radio's on one screen Just wondering if i could undock the MCP in the 747X an throw her on to my 2nd monitor as i can do in the 767XPS i tried the search option to no avail for FSX anywaysCheersJosh

Hello all!I have just installed the 747X and I just had my first flight. On the flight I noticed that on the map, my aircraft does not follow the path properly. It will follow it for a bit and then veer off, then go back and forth. It also acts up when doing an ILS approach, I found that I lined up according to the ILS but the map had me to the left of the runway.I have tried a re-install but the problem still persists. Anyone have any ideas? Thanks for any help!Mark

Hi all,I just got the 747-400 boxed version 1.1 installed.The question I have is do I need the 747-400/400F Sounds update or does V1.1 include that?I probably missed it on the PMDG site, but it was not clear if I need to update the sound?

After I installed 747 for FSX, I installed the update for FS9, now the COMM panel and the clock has no read-outs (no lights)in my 747 FS9. I read a earlier question about the same problem, is an uninstall and reinstall of FSX and FS9 nessisary or is there a way to turn on the Comm panel? Jack

For all of us that love the IGS 13 at Kai Tak- there will soon be a commercial product released that will allow for a simple install- and from the previews- a superb amount of detail and great frame rates.As a huge fan of Old Kai Tak I am excited, but the reason I am posting here is that one of our very own, my mate Steve Bell was instrumental in the formation of parts of this release. I just got the boxed version of the 747-400 v1.1 for FS9.I see there is a "Sound enhancement update for the PMDG 747-400 and 400F" in the PMDG downloads but I'm not sure if I need it for v1.1? ok guysis the fsx 747 the same as the older version fs9 in so much that that you have to directly input the way points manualy instead of importing from fsx ? as other simulations can.thanks in advanceDave:)

HiI've just purchased the 747 FSX version and after the installation the MCP won't lit up, it's completly black.The same problem is on the FS9 version now.Note, this happens only with the cargo version on both simulators.On PAX version everyhing is working as normal.I have FSX with all updates and I did ran the updater for FS9 after I had installed the Queen of the Skies for FSX.I use Win XP home SP2Does anyone have any idea on whats causing this?ThanksRS

Hi Everyone,I would first want to wish all of you A Happy New Year and then come up to the topic.When i have set a complete route with all waypoints into a destination, to follow these Waypoints i must use LNAV.Now the question is, when do I press on LNAV, because when i press on that button straight after Take-Off, the Aircraft first makes a 360 degrees turn and then intercepts his route as he could do it automaticaly after Take-Off.Then my next question is about LNAV again, this morning during a flight on the PMDG 747-400 i was flying on 32000 ft with a speed of 300 Knots, using the AutoPilot on SPEED, ALTITUDE and LNAV.Then when he past his second waypoint, he started …

I typically activate the APP button once lined up on the approach and usually make a good ILS landing. On occasion, when close to landing the VORLOC button will activate on its own and things start to get out of kilter. I usually wind up turnng off the CMD A auto-pilot to make a good landing. Whats the deal with the VORLOC? What does it do and why does it kick in on some flights? Thanks, Doug C.

Happy New Year y'all!A quick question for those of you more astute at this stuff that I.I am trying to put in reporting points along a long overwater leg.There doesn't seem to be a way in the FMC to do this, though I am told that the 747's FMC will allow one to put in reporting points every N degrees of long or lat. between two waypoints... am I missing something in the manual?I know the other question has been covered before but I cannot find it in the Forum Search.. how to I correctly enter complex Lat/Long waypoints. Manage fine with the whole degrees like N35E27, but the FMC refuses the N3501.57E2725.1Thanks for the help, and all the best for 08.Peter Lloyd

Just reinstalled all my pmdg products again after a problem with my pc.I am using fs9.I finally reinstalled the 747 freighter with the latest update.However, I read in a post previously that there should be 3 different airfiles in the cargo version to simulate the 3 different engine variants.When I go to the cargo version folder all I see is one airfile relating to the GE engines.Is this correct or should there be 3 different airfiles.Regards,Dimitri

Hi I am having a serious issue while using VNAV in the 747X in FSX. After entering a flight plan, verifying performance and takeoff metrics...i am seeing the followingWhen you select the VNAV page in FMC..the CLB page says "0KT CLB" All of the numbers in the page look correct but why does it say "O KT CLB"?? Shouldn't be something like "ECON CLB" or "250KT CLB"?Now the real problem is when you engage VNAV, after TO and at 800 feet and Flaps 5 setting, CLB is engaged and the MCP speed setting incorrectly is set to 100!!! This is not the speed shown in the LEGS or RTE page of the flight plan..or in the VNAV CLB pages. ofcourse as soon as this happens you can no longer use…

I fly entirely in the VC on my rig (Triplehead2go) because I can't use 2D panels any more. I am thinking about buying the Aerosoft boxed version of the PMDG Beech 1900C and D. Do these aircraft have really smooth VCs?Thanks!Jonathan

Hi !I have a question regarding your PMDG OPS "747-400 FSX Technical Specs & Performance" page. There is a Performance Chart which compares several System Configurations and how they perform with FSX and the 747-400X. I saw that Machine 6 seems to be the system that performs best with the 747-400X. I'm a bit surprised cause this system is a vista system. I was mentioned before that Vista has a OOM Problem and less performance with FSX and the 747X. There is also no comparison between the same system running XP. Would it have less FPS? The CPU is a quad-core CPU, does this work better with VIsta? And what about the OOM Errors, did they appear.I ask all this questions b…

can anyone offer any suggestions,i can not enter airways in to the fmc it just says "not in database", and they are valid airway names. I made a plan in fsbuild using airways with nav aid entry and exit points , sent it to the fmc which loaded it fine but only listed a few of the numerous airways in the flight instead just showing "direct" in the via entry section of the route pages. I tried to enter them manually but it would not recognise them. I just wondered if this was normal or if there is some particular teqnique that im missing, ive looked at the manual and it does not go in to any further detail on this.thanks for any advicekav

I've been having problems with the autoland on the PMDG 747-400X. Although the ILS localiser and glideslope were being picked up by the PFD correctly, the autoland tracked the localiser about a half-dot to the left, with the result that the 747 landed on the grass between the runway and the taxiway. It's a weird problem because the ILS is being correctly received and displayed; if you centre the bars and manually fly down the beams, you achieve a perfect touchdown; it's the autoland that misinterprets the signals.What's even weirder is that it appears that the problem is linked to an incompatibility between the 747 and Horizon's UK VFR scenery.I've tried all the usual pro…
