Prior to landing I sometimes deploy the autobrakes to the 2 or 3 settings, depending on the runway length ahead. However, after applying manual braking and slowing down to a stop, these do not disengage and the switch does not flip back to the off position, as it is supposed to.I had a brief discussion with a 737-800 NG and 747-400 rated captain from SAA yesterday, and he told me that if one applies pressure to the brakes manually when the aircraft has slowed down to a safe +/- 60 or 70 knots, the auto brake automatically disengages.This does not occur in the sim on both models, as I always have to do it manually before the airraft slows down to a complete stop half way d…

The past couple of flights I have taken I have noticed that when I am about 5 or 6 thousand feet from my cruise altitude (usually anywhere from 330-360), using autopilot with VANV/LNAV engaged, the 747x all of a sudden for no reason drops to a really slow climb and almost stops climbing completely. I notice no other issues with the aircraft when this happens, any thoughts?Thanks,Tom

HelloI was wondering if PMDG is thinking about a 2D panel for its 737 which would match with the widescreen format (1680*1050) in FS9?Since I have a widescreen and a trackIR, I mostly use general aviation aircraft with 3D panel (no distortion) but I would like to flight again with the excellent 737 from PMDG, but the IFR is easier with the 2D Panel. And for the time, 2D panel with a wide screen makes distortion of gauges. I think some creator, like eaglesoft and dreamfleet, are proposing 2D panel adapted for widescreen. From reading an earlier thread I see that some people are having trouble with wind smoothing at high altitudes.Just in case you didn't know this already, there is a reasonably complete solution available if you use Activesky X published by HiFi Sim. They recently released a service pack for this product which addresses wind smoothing. It's not 100% cure (the publishers do not claim otherwise) but it has made a big difference in my case. An added advantage of Activesky X is that you can choose to make it use VATSIM's weather stations. So when you disable the weather function in FSInn (which you must do, to make FSInn work properly in FSX) you can still fly online with the …

I've been meaning to ask this for a while, so I hope a FMC expert might be able to give me a pointer.OK, I export a FP from FSBuild-2 and import it into both the PMDG FMC and Radar Contact for ATC. The FP usually includes a SID or at least a few WP's within 40nm of my departure.Radar Contact (ATC), using departure procdures criteria, expects me to fly within 2nm of these WP's until >40nm out from departure, then I have a 5nm threashold.So the question becomes, once the FP is in the FMC, how do a change the first few WP's to be "Fly Over" instead of letting LNAV precalculate the most efficient turn or "Fly By"?Thanks for any advise (examples) you might have...

I fly the PMDG 747-400 and use the Load manager to set cargo loads. It changes the aircraft config. file fine but when I start my flight and check my weights it hasn't changed from the last flight. I do get out of FS9 to set cargo loads and save the file but it seems that FS9 is not reading the config. file when it starts the flight. Any ideas?Thanks, John

I want to fly some converted freighter repaints of the -400 like it's a -400bcf. How can I load the pax version so it is loaded like a freighter, or is that not possible? I am not sure how to spread out the loads like it would be filled with freight instead of people

HiI have bought every product released and have been totally pleased.However, I have to say I have recently been far from pleased with the 'contact' service. Since the release of the new FSX 747, I have tried 4 times to contact PMDG by the contact system regarding my customer discount but have received no replies. PMDG sent me a standard e-mail recently to advise me that the customer discount was finishing. I again used the method of contact to make ask how do I get my discount but again, have not recieved a reply. Because of this poor service, have I now lost my discount to buy the FSX model?Thanks for any assistanceBob

Here's a little quirk that's niggled at me for a while:Suppose a waypoint on the LEGS page shows that it will be crossed at "240/3400", meaning 240 knots at 3400 feet. If I want to cross the waypoint at 220 knots instead, I should be able to enter "220/" into the scratchpad and then line select the "240/3400" entry in the LEGS page of the FMC. This ought to substitute 220 knots for the existing 240 knots. It is a helpful little shortcut.But with the PMDG 747 (FS9 and FSX versions), this only works if the existing entry of "240/3400" is a "hard" entry (in large type on the FMC), as distinct from a predicted entry. At the Seattle conference they said that they did not know when the 737-700-800- model would be finished being redone for fsx . And i don't blame them as i seen a few designers get in big trouble for promising what they did not deliever.All i want to know is there any updated news on this cause i've done a pile of reading for a 737-700-800 from other developers and i decided to wait for the PMDG model. thanks - Louis

I use a reg version of fsuipc to overcome the battery problem within fs9. My current settings are battery unlimited, however this isn't very realistic. Does any have a good setting that would give me battery lasting 30-45 minutes? Thanks

After a long time away from the PMDG 747-400, I just began flying the bird again. Here is my problem, although I use the 747 configuration program prior to loading FS9, and I check the drop down menu for the correct fuel, I still receive an error message.The message is that the fuel level is critical, press Ctrl + X. This message repeats over and over again throughout the flight. When I reveiw the FMC PROG screen it tells me that I'll have more that enought fuel to land, if anything, I'm holding to much fuel on board.I have checked the EICAS for fuel, it shows that I have a smal amount in the forward center tank. I can't seem to get my PMDG747 for FSX properly aligned with the Rwy on landing whatever airport I try. It always some distance to the left of rwys (sometimes 20 feet, sometimes 50 feet, etc). App button is pressed and 3 computers lighted. Landing occurs in the grass (if I let it do its thing) and aircraft steers slowly to center of rwy as it rolls out. Some of the buttons on my Saitek yoke work as they did with other aircraft while others do not work. I know there is a way of mapping key strokes to various functions and I have done that successfully but how do you map buttons on the yoke to specific PMDG functions ? No problem doing this for other aircraft in FSX's Settings | Controls. Is there any documentation anywhere for this ? Add-ons | PMDG menu only has a keyboard assignment menu.Thanks.

Hi all,with my specs (see below) I can fly most of my planes (also add ons like Piper Cheyenne, LDS 767, etc.) with 25 fps (fixed at 25 fps).I have all sliders to the right and I use nhancer for my Nvidia card.Only the PMDG 747, which I bought 2 days before, is giving me only 12-15 fps in the 2D-Panel, in very dense sceneries like Heathrow (add on scenery) only 9 fps.The virtual panel is again 2-4 fps below.I have set the panel performance down to 5 yet, which didn
