    I can't find any reference to this in any of the PMDG PDF manulas - and "Googling" didn't help either. Perhaps someone here can enlighten me?Why do I sometimes get an error showing in the PMDG (737) FMC, usually I think on descent/approach: "PTH DES NOT AVAILABLE".     Per the manual, the NAV RAD button is used for specifying VORs and ADFs. What I don't understand is how this information is used. How can these stations be used for navigation ? Are they supposed to be used for actual navigation or are they informational only ? Unlike other aircraft, there is no NAV function for capturing the course (CRS) specified in the NAV1 radio (I am aware of PB/D waypoints, etc., and their use in the FMC).I would appreciate some guidance for the FMC's NAV RAD button.Zach

    I would like to share a few tips I have found to take some load off of the CPU with regards to the panel.- Do not enter long distance way points during your initial programming of the FMC, update them once airborne.- Keep TCAS off until airborne.- Keep the map range between 5-100 miles.- Keep all navaids (airports, waypoints etc.) off on the Nav display.If you have any other tips please help us all enjoy our flight simming experience more by sharing your suggestions.Have a good day,Alex

    I have been using the PMDG 737 for a long time now and to be honest i never fly anything else unless it was maid by PMDG. Hey when you make a great product you stick with it. Anyway i really liked the fuel planner for the 737 but i just don't understand why they would not make one for the 747 i thought when it first came out it would take some time for them to create one but now there is the 747-400 x for fsx. buy there is no fsx. i need the fuel planner for my virtual airline it asks me how much fuel i used and i don't want to just put in half a tank or 3 quarters of a tank that just does not seem right. so if anyone can help me out with the problem i would greatly appre…

    I have been trying to assign a keyboard shortcut to 737s. I want 'increase autobrakes' to work with Ctrl+Shift+M. I deleted the default assignment, as I never need that as a shortcut. At the same time I assigned Ctrl+Shift+N to 'decrease autobrake'.The latter is fine, but oddly every time I assign the former, it works once, then it disappears from the PMDG keyboard options and shows up as blank when I open that window again. Every time I reset it, the software erases it again.Anyone know how to make this assigment 'stick'? Beats me why Ctrl+Shift+N is OK, but +M is not...Thanks,Martin S.

    Good morning all, I've finally bitten the bullet and purchased the sim add-on everyone is raving about and I gotta tell you all, I am truly impressed. The only problem is I started it up last night for a flight from KIAD-KMDW WN2181, but found that when I advanced the throttle to taxi only the #1 engine spooled up while #2 remained at idle. I was able to use the mouse to advance #2 to takeoff power upon taking the active and the auto throttle had no problems either. I tried the FS command(E,1,2) to try to tie both back into my control but no soap. I was still trying to figure it out when I hit the FAF to 13C and let down out of the clouds in light snow so I figured …

    Hi allI have been flying the 747 from pmdg for a number of weeks now and it is the first complex addon i have bought and it is absolutely brilliant. However i require a bit of help i can ils/autoland in nice weather and have done many flights but when i click the approach hold button and the three a/p lights light up and it has lcoked onto the g/s if there is crosswind or any wind the plane will drift and be carried by the wind. how can i get a/p to autoland a crosswind/windy landing.Thanks very muchRichy Gibson

    Hi,I recently bought the 744x and I must say it looks marvellous! To get acquainted with the aircraft I followed all 4 trc's. After that I did the long haul tutorial of craig read. ( had some spare time.... ;) ). Everything went fine up till programming the approach. In the tutorial the yenni one star is used. This star is not programmed in the KLAX.txt file in the pmdg/sidstars folder, also the fixes are not programmed. I completed the tutorial by adding the fixes and star to the klax.txt file. Now I am wondering, is this typical star not operative any more?? I tried searching using google but could not find an answer.GreetingsNiels

    Hi all,as I understand the Cruise and Flight Planning manual, I go with the planned amximum cruise altitude and expect to step climb to that FL.Well doing this for - say - an 4500 NM trip dependent on Planned Landing Weight gives the fuel amounts as depicted in the graph below. It shows, that you should fly FL 370 for PLW of 410 klbs while for PLW of 510 klbs you should proceed to 410 - if you can (did not check that) but for PLW higher that 520 klbs you should best remain on FL 310 (or even below) for the whole flight.That sounds strange to me and I wonder, what I may have missed.Thanks for any advice!http://forums.avsim.net/user_files/184491.jpg

    Hello all,The problem I am having is quite simple. After tweaking my new card and getting my FPS just right I have but one more issue with the result. The sky has lines running through it. Almost like the colors will not blend but rather fade in stripes to a darker shade of blue (or yellow if the sun is setting). I hope I have described my problem in enough detail for you guys.     Dear Team,I have a problem with my 747 FS9. I have not flown for sometimes now, recently I decided to give it ago. I loaded my 747 everything went smooth, set FMC like normal. During take off everything was OK. After reaching 10000 feet I turned on my LNAV and VNAV and monitor everyting. Then I decided to minimized FS9 and do some work on Vista. 1 minutes later I decided to check the climb and to my surprise the autopilot went crazy. LNAV and VNAV light was working but my Auto throttle was switch off, I need to activate it again by pressing VNAV. Not only that the aircraft itself went decent rapidly (sometimes with -5000 FPM).     hi all,yesterday i did my first long range flight using 744/FSX since i was flying the 744 in FS9.i don't like flying real time on a 10 hour flight, so i use time acceleration (usually 8x sim rate). it is kinda hard to keep ATC happy doing that and there was a "trick" that worked in FS9. back then i would wait until a handoff and then just not contact the next center controller until i have crossed the pond and go back to 1x sim rate. they would then give me crazy headings to fly which i would acknowledge but i would stay on my current course. after a few complaints ATC would eventually tell me to resume own navigation and it was all good.well, yesterday (FSX) ATC just k…

    I have been using FS9 most of the time but, yesterday I flew the 747X Freighter.I was saddened to discover that certain essential controls were not clickable even though the 'hand' appeared over things like the FD, Lnav and Vnav switches?I have asked others about this and they are in agreement.PMDG did you know about this please?     Hi all . I run the PMDG 747-400 CD version. If I plan a flight with a British Airways livery , ATC call me only with the number of flight and not with the company name ( speedbird ) and number of flight . This happens only with British Airways livery . With all other liveries ATC calls work the correct way .Please : what can I do ? Thanks .Maurizio

    The Packs sound is drowning out all the other sounds, I can even hear them loudly in outside views. This just started happening lately but I don't know what I did that changed it or if one of my many blue screen of death crashes might have corrupted some sound file.Any Ideas? Jeff P.

It seems that the manual is the same one used for the FS9 version. I thought that there were a lot of changes made to the updated version.     Hi , since the new 737NGX is going to take a while to be relased I was wondering if you guys from PMDG could make a FDE update improving the climb performance , especially on the 800/900 version.I know that one or two guys did it on their own , but they were prevented to release here at avsim because PMDG would not alow any changes on the software. So , if you are not going to do it , at least let somebody else do it. That way we can make better use of the software in hand and stay "pacient" waiting the NGXFernando

    Ok here is the problem. when i was running xp and flying the 737-700I aways used to put the overhead panel on my left monitor and fly on my right monitor. i made sure that dual monitors were checked in the pmdg options section. then all i had to do was bring up the overhead panel right click select it then drag it to my left monitor were it would adjust itself to the monitor size and everything would be fine.but now im using windows vista and flying the 747-400x i went through everystep as before but when i right click i do not get an option to grab it and bring it over. if i do just take the whole screen and bring it over it does not fit the monitor and a quarter of my o…
