is there a way to cause FSX or PMDG to 'remember' the size and location of the various panels?I like the panels to be a certain size and location, which is of course, not how they are by 'default'.it's rather annoying to have to re-size and position the various panels every time a new flight is started.help!

if there's a bit of documentation that explains this, please let me know, but:for some reason, sometimes, after having fueled, the 4 valves which control fuel flow between tanks (x-flow valves I guess) are set so that fuel will not flow.ok, so, use the buttons to control the valves you say?well, half easy, half hard, it seems.the two outer buttons on the overhead control panel are functional for the two outer valves, no problem, however, the inner buttons are non-functional for some reason.why is that, and, how do I control the inner set of fuel x-feed valves?please advise...

Hello everyone, this is my first post on this forum. I'm looking for some help with both versions of PMDG 747 FS9&FSX. I was trying out FSC 8.2 in FSX and I loaded up the FLT PLN in the FMC of my PMDG 747 and it would not follow the route. I've tried it with two different FLT PLN and I got the same results. Aircraft wouldn't follow the flt pln. I have attached a pic to see my set up. I don't have any pics from FS9 but it does the same thing only using flt pln from FSNAV.

HiI have downloaded the PMDG 747. The exe file (PMDG747_400_V1R11.exe) is on my hard disk. when i click it, a small, black window will open for about 1/4 second and close again. That was it - no further installation.Has anybody an idee how i can install my PMDG 747???SincerellyJoerg

Hi,I have a question on how to choose the 'correct' take-off configuration in terms of thrust and flap settings. In my opinion this is the captains' choice but I can imagine there are some guidelines... I found some remarks on the thrust setting in the manual (page 1-13, 'reduced takeoff N1 should not be used when....'). Furthermore, I think takeoff weight, runway length, etc influence the desired thrust setting.Regarding flap settings, is it true that this is mainly based on the runway surroundings; when a runway is surrounded by mountains one uses a flap 20 takeoff to make a initial climb with a large vertical speed???Can some confirm my thoughts or if I am mistaking c…

Hi, All:First of all, thank you all for your help understanding this GREAT bird.My question is about fuel pumps lights.I have the PMDG 737ng 600/700/800/900, and one thing I have notice is that no matter which procedure I use for the overhead panel power-up, the four lights over the aft & fwd fuel pump lever never go out, and they always indicate low pressure. I can continue with the overhead panel power-up and aircraft start-up even with the fuel pump low pressure indicator lights on. As a matter of fact, I can complete the flight without any problems. It just bothers me to fly with four red/orange lights on the overhead panel.I was able to look at some videos on you…

Hi all,On an autoland or manual landing off an ILS the spoilers deploy perfectly and reverse thrust activates normally - as one would expect. The aircraft is brought to a stop and then instant replayed.The problem:When instant replay is played from a position on short finals, the aircraft is shown flying with the spoilers deployed and the thrust reversers deployed.I then tried stowing the spoilers and thrust reversers after landing and instant replay showed the aircraft flying normally however, after landing, the spoilers and thrust reversers did not deploy when in fact they had.I have also tried setting the parking brake after landing and then instant replay, but the pro…

I have the 747 400X but I can't get the cargo doors to open. I assigned Tab+C to "All Cargo" under "Doors", but it doesn't work (I'm using the GE model) Is there something I have to do differently?(I can get the passenger doors to open just fine)Thanks Lenny

For some reason, my SIDS and STARS are either missing, or not complete with the PMDG 737 series, that includes the -600/700/800/900 series. I just tried to do a flight from KATL and the FMS did not have ANY stars listed for that field, nor did it have a complete list of STARS for KMIA, my planned arrival city. I went to a page that wanted me to donate, which I did, downloaded the files, but still have nothing. What gives?

I just can't install the PMDG 747X. Always at the same point of installation progress my Norman virus Control system discovers a "backdoor" and puts it into the quarantine. So the whole thing gets cancelled.Of course I can disable the scanner and therefor install the whole thing but at the latest when I start FSX (and restart the scanner) Norman attacks this data file again and I can't load the aircraft. So my question: Do I really have to disable the scannereverytime when I run FSX or is there any solution of the problem?? Thanks for help and sorry for the Swiss English:)The file: pmdg_s~1.dll

Does anyone have any idea why some Simroute generated flightplans export okay and work well with PMDG but cannot load into FSX? This happens on about half of the simroute flightplans that I download. Would appreciate any suggestions.

Hello all,I am a fairly new PMDG 747 PAX FS9 user. I noted the earlier thread about FSX un-installs causing FS9 to be removed from the registry with interest, as it did this to me also. Although the Flight 1 "fix" allowed me to install the BA 747 livery, none of the Macrovision installer liveries load, despite my having now totally repaired the registry by re-installing FS9, deleting it, and then re-installing my complete original copy. However, although the registry now checks out fine, the Macrovision liveries still won't load.I just get "install can't continue as FS9 is not installed on your computer", or similar. Interestingly, the BA livery does not use the Macrovis…

ok its been a while since i have flown. i am now usinf the pmdg 747-400x windows vista and fsx.I seem to be having a problem finding the Airac and the sid and stars i belieave it is now 801. is it true that we now need to pay for this????? and if we do how much is it? when i went to the navdata sit i did see the download for the airac but when i hit download all i did not see anything for pmdg. can you help me out. also dont i nee 2 seperate downloads one for the pmdg and one for the fsx flight sim. please explain.

Hello,I'm seeing strange things on the FMC (PROG page). Hieroglyphics spring to mind. Product is 747-400 QoS for FS9. I've used the product for over a year now, but tonight was the first time that I experienced this strange output on the FMC. I've taken a screenshot to show what I am talking about. Hi GurusI have a little problem. Some times I don't have much time simming, so I load the 737 from the Default Flight with engines running. Recently I made a reinstall and it now happens that when i load the 737 it i starts with both generators off, and the thrust in reverse mode. Disabling joysticks gives the same result. Hi everone!A couple of weeks ago my PMDG 747-400 started to act very strange just moments after takeoff.All the cockpit preparations, startup and taxi procedures is performed just the way as I always do.After takeoff, during the climb the aircraft starts to climb very rapidly ( sometimes above 10.000 feet/min ) and as a result the speed drops, after a while the speed increases again and the aircraft starts to descend. And so it goes on, up and down, up and down.Also having trouble with the HDG select, after arming heading select the aircraft starts to bank very hard, which of course activates the bank angle warning. Ey all,Well i was told to make a new thread for these questions, so here goes::)a) Sometimes i accidentally (or not) press the V/S or ALT HOLD button while in a LNAV/VNAV path...Now after i've done this, i can't, no matter what I try, get VNAV to engage again.Pressing VNAV results in nothing..and i cant get the V/S button to turn off. When i turn off FD & A/T, all lights turn off..then i press AP disengage..but when i turn on FD it jumps back to V/S! Pressing it wont turn it off & pressing VNAV does nothing either. I checked the manual (AP & FD section) but cant find what im looking for.please help;]:( whats a good way to land on non-ILS runways? Do i just nee…

Hi guys.i have 747 and want to drag someparts to a second monitor.I have FSX and i can drag some parts.But the best of them i cant, cause PMDG dont let me do it.I want do drag PFD and ND to put on MIP, i just started to make it now, and want to put it there.If we could drag the popup views, would be perfect for it.May be PMDG team can think about it.I think its not hard to do, and can help a lot of us to make a best home cockpit.Just can drag and resize this parts.PMDG is the best aircraft to simulate, i think.But to make a MIP with it is a little hard cause any other software works together to help us, use PM systems is impossible, quite expensive.I tested a good softwar…

I've been trying to execute a textbook GA (in FS9) based on PMDG tutorials and wiki ops instructions and have succeeded somewhat but several things keep going wrong during the procedure. I tried 6-7 TOGA procedures at three different airports this evening using an FMC flightplan for two of them and a plain vanilla, non-FMC ILS approach on the third one. First, when I hit TOGA once, I get HOLD on the FMA instead of THR. (I do get TOGA | TOGA on the rest of the FMA). Power does rise however and I observe the letters GA are lit up on the Upper EICAS.Next (within 3 secs or so), the a/c pitches up to 2000 fpm and IAS increases hesitantly a bit, but then suddenly yanks to 40…
