    Hey, is it possible to get a Hot Start when starting the 747X's engines without setting any failures or anything? I'm guessing the answer is no because I've tried everything in vain but I would have thought it would have been developed to be possible...Looking forward to reading your replies!

  2. Hi all,The PMDG cola ("only 1,250 calories") has vanished from the FO's side of the cockpit. It vanished during a recent flight KSFO-EBBR. Is there any place to get more? It's one of the favorites of the non-simmers in my family. In a recent issue of Computer Pilot, there was a walk=though demo of the 747X on the CD. Aside from being very well done, there was a walkthrough from a virual first=class cabin into the VC cockpit. AFAIK, there is no VC cabin on the 747X. One can sort of turn around in the pilot's chair and look into the cabin, but there's no way to get there from here. So, is there a VC first-class cabin on the 747X? Or perhaps is it only on the FS9 PMDG 747?TI…

    On the takeoff roll, can hear the "80 KTS" callout but not the V1, V2 or "rotate". This has happened a few times. I have accepted/confirmed the speeds on the TAKEOFF page.What could it be that I am doing incorrectly ?Thanks,Zach

    I currenty own the MCP Pro system and the EFIS unit. I use them with your MPDG 747-400. Up until two days ago everything worked as it should. Then all of a sudden the 747 was stalling in climbs, it would not hold altitude and frequently was climbing wildly past the altitude set. Neither the LNAV nor the VNAV seems to control the 747.I assumed a file had become corrupted so I uninstalled the PMDG 747 I was using and reinstalled it. That did not help so I unstalled the PMDG GoFlight MCP interface., unplugged the MCP Pro hardware and restarted the computer. I checked to be sure my PMDG _GFMCPro.key file ws in the /FS9/PMDG folder. It was. Next I ran the PMDG GoFligh…

    I have had to reinstall FSX and all of the goodies on my system but when selecting the PMDG 747 in the aircraft select menu in FSX nothing happens, the the simulator shuts down as it stops responding.This never happened before ???Any ideas ?O/s Vista 32bit ...Thanks,Gary B.

  11. Flew EDDK-GCTS last night with FSUIPC4.25 and recommended ASX settings for my first successful complete flight. Overall, the experience is much improved! However, on descent for GCTS to 9000 ft at 190 kts, the speed tape repeatedly jumped up and down from 190 kts causing the engines to keep surging and lagging. I am sure that the passengers would have been quite sick!Cheers, Richard

(737 only)Vertical FPV indicates as should be.Have my doubts about the lateral indication.After some experiments, found that during turns, the lateral displacement is dependend on speed. same is true for the Track pointer on PFD heading scale.On this indicated displacement the effect of wind (if any) is "superimposed".My knowledge of FPV (please correct where wrong!) is that the lateral displacement is a function of real time drift.So (for me) during a NO-Wind condition, the indication has to stay just in the middle.     Hi,I just can't seem to find the answer for this one...I believe I have the latest version of the 747-400 for FS9, and I understand that the Roll Royce variant was to be accurately simulated in the cockpit/FMC. I'm not sure how to do this, though. My exterior model is the RR variant - do I have to change something within the FMC, or elsewhere?     Just found this, at least with my installation:Symptoms: 1) Engine won't start, but EICAS displays then as running with normal parameters. EGT does not come down from peak at start and then stabilize, just hangs there at peak start temp. Engines are not moving from outside view and do not produce thrust. 2) Flashing red beacon from outside view quits after a few minutes, even with the beacon switch selected to the 'on' position. 3) Gear will not retract after takeoff. 4) IRS's EICAS message 'IRS (1,2,3) on DC', during and after initial alignment.Cause: Dead battery, APU generators on the busses but apparently not charging. …

  18. Hello everyone.I can't save flightplans with my 747. After having completed the flightplan in the CDU, I press ACTIVATE / EXECUTE and then RTE COPY. I get the message COMPLETE but there is no flightplan there. I neither have any .rte nor .rte2 files on my computer.In another forum someone suggested I should have a FS9/PMDG/Flightplans folder which I don't. I created one but I couldn't save flightplans anyway.So I reinstalled the 747-400 with the repair option and also reinstalled the V1.1 update.     In the PMDG 737 I understand that some functions can be assigned to keypresses from within the MSFS Key Assignments. Is there a list of which functions of the PMDG are assignable this way or is it simply a matter of trial and error. I am aware that all Overhead switches can only be accessed through Key2Mouse -but the window has to be open for that to work. As a newbie cockpit builder -what a pity PMDG 737 is produced this way ( and gratitude to Key2Mouse). I am sure PMDG would open up a substantial market if this problem was fixed.Bill

    I'm NOT sure that the Load Manager is working correctly in my "F" version. I set the cargo load, get the zero fuel weight,etc., and then click "save". It looks okay, but when I click the manager to exit, everything is "wiped out" as if there's no load. Shouldn't it show the load, as saved, even as I click to exit? I ask this because it seems I may be getting overloaded aircraft (judging by flying charactistics). Help please.

    Have been flying several routes with the PMDG 747-400X with great success. I have modified flightplans several times successfully but I currently end up with a Route Discontinuity that I cannot remove and I would like PMDG experts to tell me where I am wrong or is it a funny behavior of the FMC.     Hi all:I was wondering about (RW) APU operations. From what I have read most airlines turn off the APU (and Packs 2 and 3) prior to engine start/takeoff. Yes, some use all 3 packs with no APU (performance allowing) and my carrier (BA) advocates Pack 2 take-offs with the APU powering the pack in isolation.On the way in, however, while SOP to start the APU on the taxi in, when do most operators change over to APU powering the electrics- once on stand, before shutdown, or on the way in before wheel-stop?I have used both ways and do not seem to have any issues either way....but would like to keep in line with (RW) operational procedures.Please chime in.......Best-Carl F.     Hi all,First I wanted to test the "V1 cut" of the Pmdg-failures using the right engine. This seems not to work at all. The panel indicated "failure already happened" , but the engine continued to run.So,during climb, I used the normal Fs failures for the right engine. This worked. I got the aural message "engine failed" and the engine was shut down.But to my astonishment the plane continued straight ahead without any reaction apart from loosing speed and the disconnection of VNAV.     Hi all,Please advise - when I set keyboard commands in the PMDG menu inside FSX for functions such as TOGA etc, the sim has dropped these the next time I start up and fly. This means with every flight I have to re-enter all the key commands into the PMDG menu. There is no "save" button so what must I do to avoid re-entering these everytime I want to fly the 747?I seem to have a similar problem trying to save panel states. They just dont seem to save?Is it because my copy of FSUIPC is not a paid for version but the free download version?Thanks in advance,GregH
