  1. hey guys n gals,I've got a query about two probably different things....a) VATSIMI'm noticing a huge difference in performance between flying without VATSIM versus with VATSIM.if I'm flying along on a previously not connected mode, then connect to VATSIM, it seems like the plane suddenly hits a wall of molases, and acts like the air density is being made to be much more dense, therefore more difficult to fly through.I'm mostly talking about the behavior when I'm flying along at .86M and perhaps FL330 or so.what I mean is that suddenly, the plane will have trouble maintaining a certain speed/altitude, and I end up having to settle for something less.eg, right now, I'm flyi…

  2. hi All,i'm currently enroute to Honolulu from Miami in the PMDG 747(FS9) and there is No SIDS/STARS, ILS, RNWYs. data displayed in the FMC on the DEP/ARR PAGES for PHNL. i looked in the PMDG SIDS/STARS folder and the PHNL txt. file for PHNL is there. i got a couple of Program Error msgs. related to PHNL when i entered PHNL into the Destination field on the Rte.1 page but i can't remember the wording. (sorry) i'm using the Navigraph 803 cycle along with Terry Yinglings and Dan Downs 803 cycle SIDS/STARS. is this a PHNL error in the 803 Navigraph cycle? thanks in advance for any info. happy flyin, Tim Wheeler

    Hey there PMDG team, Will we be able to enter enroute forecast winds into the MD-11 FMC to be able to have better arrival time and fuel estimates? I feel this is one of the things lacking in the 744 (although everything else is perfect, and its success is obvious). It's only that it can be quite a pain flying HKG-SFO or somewhere with huge enroute winds and having a real world CFP for fuel figures, zfw etc, only for your FMC to say that you are going to arrive with 0.0t of fuel, whereas, upon landing you have around 12-15t...Will this be possible in the MD-11?cheers

    Getting strange exhaust below the centre of the aircraft. Any ideas?? (It is smoke not light reflection).     Hi all,I have just bought and installed the PMDG 737 600-700 and am very happy with it bar one small blot.The ILS tracks down at a constant offset on the localiser regardless of airport.For example, approaching Coventry and setting the course of 231 deg on the ILS course the aircraft flies a track 5 degrees off centreline to the left with the course deviation bar permanantly one division to the right. It does track down to the touchdown point, but no matter what course is set on the MCP or which airfield it is, it always tracks the same.The only problem then is that at decision height you are slightly left of centre line, but 5 degrees off runway heading.     Lastest addition to the collection: Procedures based on current cycle (0803 13Mar-10Apr) FAA Digital Aeronautical Information and Terminal Procedure Publications (Charts Included). Remember Sonny Bono (of Sonny and Cher)? He was mayor here before his hard landing with a tree on a ski slope and now there is the SBONO STAR and UBABE fix (You Got Me Babe).     I recently purchased the 747 for FSX and am very impressed with it. But neither the default livery nor the other liveries that I have downloaded and installed show up on the fuselage. The wings and tail have the markings, but I can see right into the cabin. How do I fix this?

    Which setting need to be made for the autothrottle to work? Which conditions need to be fulfilled? It sometimes just doesn't want to switch on, and the alert light blinks in red, although I'm pretty sure I did all the settings and checks. It must be something I overlooked, but what? It happened several times already.

    Is it possible to set up (in advance) an intercept-radial course for a waypoint that is 2 or more waypoints down the Legs list. ie " --cleared direct ABC, thence to DEF, then fly heading 090 to intercept the 180 radial from GHI ---- " ?Could a clearance such as this be setup prior to takeoff?     Does anybody knows why FSX keeps crashing when in full screen? It works fine when on windowed mode, but on full screen it keeps crashing to desktop. I think it has something to do with the nvidia 7 series. Anybody with the same problem? Any fixes for that? I'm using nvidia 7800 GS OC AGP card. thanks,Kaue.

    Topic says it, all doors are closed, I actually never used the doors up until now.In the preflight, I opened the doors and cargo with the Ctrl+Shift+1,2,3,4 shortcuts (assigned them myself), then prior to pushback closed, and since that moment I have all my doors closed, pressurization is apparently OK, and I have a warning message Doors Entry R and L on my EICAS.What's up with that?!?

    I recently bought the 747 for FSX. It downloaded properly but the knobs are not working properly. For example when trying to change the altitude on the autopilot panel it only goes down from 10000. All the others do the same they only count downwards and the mouse does not change to a hand instead it turns into a flat double sided arrow. Please help.

    I don't have FSX but possibly against my better judgementI decided to take advantage of the discount for prior customers and get the 747400X thinking that at least I would have the FS9 updates for now. However, after updating my FS9 747 400 with the FSX unifier update I now get a CTD on load. I tested my FS9 747 just prior to applying the update and the PMDG 747 loaded normally. Now to rub salt into the wound after uninstalling the update (using the PMDG uninstaller) my FS9 747 no longer installs properly - lower half of the 2D panel is blank and there is no VC. My OS is winXP. Any suggestions appreciated.Bruceb

    Hi I think I'll probably buy the PMDG B747-400X but it's only by download and I don't know how it' work. I think we've a key to go on a page for the download and then download only 1 time. IT's correct? and the install folder .exe can we copy it in a CD or DVD if we change computer later??? Or someone know where I can buy it on CD?     Hello,In many commercial jet airplanes, using the stabilizer trim moves the whole horizontal stabilizer of the airplane. I also see this in some FS aircraft. However, using the stab trim in PMDG 747-400, doesnt seem to have any animation in the exterior model. So my question is how does the trim work in 747-400? Which part of the horizontal stabilizer is supposed to move, if not the whole stabilizer itself?

    Hi GuysI have the 747 FSX PMDG, I have a problem, which is more than likely self created.I flew from EGLL to VHHH, I now wish to go from VHHH to YMML, using FSbuild I set a flightplan, as I did on the way to VHHH, copy plan etc into PMDG flightplan.I am at the gate, Ground power on, reset the IRS to new pos, and entered the flight plan, FMC says not in database. Tried everything even reinstalling certain things, updated AIRAC etc.Can you guys please help me, as I really want to fly, been through manuals etc, cant find what the fault is.RgdsPaul

    I have recently purchased the 737NG and have had several great flights with it. I belong to a popular virtual airline and enjoy flying on VATSIM. I have nearly 300 hours of VATSIM flying.On a flight from KSFO to KDFW all was going well with the FMC running the show. As I neared the TOD, the FMC and all the CRT screens for the PMD et.al. went blank. As well, the radios will not change freqs and the gear would not operate. I use FSInn and understand from another forum that FSInn causes problems for the PMDG radio panel. However, I have not found any discussion regarding the panels losing functionality late in flight.     Per the 747-400X manual, the prompt for the INTC CRS for tracking a VOR is supposed to appear after entering the fix to LSK 1L on the ACT RTE LEGS or MOD RTE LEGS page so:1. I entered the fix ("ACK") to the scratchpad;2. Upselected it to LSK 1L. This created a ROUTE DISCONTINUITY after ACK;3. I removed the ROUTE DISCONTINUITY by hitting DEL and upselecting it ot the LSK with the discontinuity.4. EXECuted the Route.The INTC CRS prompt did not appear at any time (at LSK 6R). Instead there is the usual RTE DATA>. Per the manual, I think I am supposed to see the MOD RTE LEGS page, which is supposed to have the INTC CRS prompt, but I don't know how to bring-up that page.…

    Hi Michael,You can use any saved flightplan route (*.rte) that you created for the 737NG in the 744. They are input into the FMC the same way you did so in the 737NG.     OkI have a P4 3 Ghz, 3 gig Ram, Nvidia Geforce 7600GT(AGP) with256mb ram. What kind of frame rates should I be getting withthe 737(both 2d and VC) with the following settings in FS...Everything set to Min, Med and Max settings.This includes the traffic off with min, traffic on and set to %50 for medium, and Traffic on and at %100 for max settings.The traffic I am using is PAI stuff.I have also used the edit voicepack to addcallsigns so that the PAI works right.. otherwise i hearExpemimental bla bla bla :0

  25. After take-off at LGAV today, I had no autothrottle and the thrust mode was blank (I know many have had the same problem). Fixed by pressing the VNAV button (which was already lit) and this fixed it.Cheers, Richard
