I thought I had the 737 FMC down pretty well, but while flying up the Florida coast at 4000 feet, I keep getting a FMC chime and a "reset MCP altitude" message and I don't know why. I am at 4000 feet and have the legs - VKZ AR1 BLUFI COMET ATHOL OMN KIZER ORL KMCO set. I also have a hold set at ATHOL at 200 knots, 7 mile legs, and at 4000 ft, my current alt. On my way to COMET, I get the chime and message, but on the Legs page each fix from COMET until the descent point has 4000 set as the altitude. The descent point is past OMN. My MCP is also set to 4000. Every time I try and reengage VNAV I get the same message. I enter 3500 in the MCP window just to see what happens a…

The more I fly the 744x, the more I appreciate the technological involvement that went into this product. Truly amazing.To be honest, its quite boring going back to flying any of my other a/c's.I see that someone had made an "imagined" Swissair livery for the fs2004 model of this a/c, but unfortunately this will not work with the FX model. Anyone know where I can get this livery for the -400x?While on the subject, are there any other products that come even close to the PMDG models?

Dear PMDG,I have been reading through the PMDG forum and see that there are a number of people having difficulty contacting PMDG support. Sorry to say, I have been having the same issue with apprarently my e-mails not getting through all the time.I did receive an e-mail reply from Paul Gollnick regarding one question I had but during the last week, I have sent several requesting reloads for the 5 products I have purchased. Since the FS9 747 is out of the one year reload - I purchased the EDS's for the 747 and 747F for FS9 on 4/16/2008 and promptly sent off an e-mail with requests for reloads on the following orders: 93334, 96057, 99013 and 99144 which cover the EDS for 74…

Hi guys.I've grown incredibly fond of the PMDG 737-600/700 in the past two weeks or so, and absolutly love it.But, since yesterday, I've had some unfortunate problems with it, it seems.I can load up the aircraft in the menu, no problem. I was planning a flight from YMLT to YSSY in the Virgin Blue livery, and when I started up the sim, it crashed.Every time since then, it crashes every time I load up the PMDG aircraft, and happens with no other...I've tried switching in-game from another aircraft, and the same problem still occurs.I looked up the 'technical information' part in the error report it offered me to send (which I can't, because FS2004 is on another, offline com…

EDIT: I know realize I have probably misunderstood how these touch screens work (the manual for the screen was not available). You don't need key assignments since your finger works simply as the mouse pointer. My question is in other words moot! :)I know, it's probably not called FMC in the MD11 but still I wonder? :)The reason is that I have long contemplated getting the hardware FMC from Engravity but considering it's price (I'm sure well worth the money, but still muchos dineros) and the fact that its layout is locked to a specific FMC, I'm a bit hesitant. I realise this is not a forum for Squawkbox, but since I and many others fly PMDG products online through VATSIM, I am hoping this post won't be deleted.I just want to ask, does anyone know if the FSX version of Squawkbox will be free, as was the case with the FS9 version?

Just a question really, pretty much like the title states, was the APU external sound ever considered during the 747 or 747X development? With the APU running and no other traffic, when I'm outside the aircraft it's pretty much silent on my versions...Not a problem really, just asking out of interest really.CheersCraig

I just purchased the Beech 1900D. Does it not have a check list? I couldn't find one. I did find the specs info but not a check list. Maybe one isn't really needed?Also, do the fuel pump switches work? I thought this was a full operating version and as such, purchased it. I have the 737's and expected this one to be up to the same in simulation function.I'm not saying I'm disappointed yet, but would appreciate some info.Thanks,Jim D.p.s. Hi All:I was wondering what the most up to date FS9 Firmware version is for the Aerosoft glareshield complement? I have version 2.2, Serial #11.Is this the latest firmware or is there a later version? If so, is it worth upgrading to? If so, how?Also, I have the MCP, EICAS and EFIS all powered via a dedicated UPS so I can turn it on and off without difficulty, and so it gets metered steady power. Do most of you leave the units on 24/7 or would you advise turning it off and on?What is the definitive process, to make sure that the devices are recognized every time? Hi,i am quite a beginner and i used the already start-up option for my PMDG 747. When i click "FLY NOW" and everything finished loading, the 3rd and 4th engines on the 747 always fail, only 1st and 2nd engines are working.Why is it so? Is it something to do with the gauges? Pls advise. Thanks

Dear PMDG developers,I noticed that there is to much bank-angle when i fly at cruise alt. with the 747X. I fly with LNAV and VNAV turned on (FMC flight-plan). Even de bank-angle bug at the MCP is set correct (10 degrees for example), but it still makes fast corners as it is a cessna. I saw some real in-flight video's of 747's, but they turn very slowly. Is this a bug???

It's taken me a while but I have finally found out how to set-up the aircraft to open/close all the doors/cargo doors and all the loading equipment but have one set of stairs missing as follows:Rear left-hand side doorway just under the start of the tail and after the rear left cargo door now opens BUT I cannot find the stairs, can anyone help?Either which key press I need to set-up or what the key is if it doesn't need setting?http://forums.avsim.net/user_files/187879.jpg

Hi there,For some reason, the 74X autobrake setting makes absolutely no difference to the rate of deceleration.Autobrake 1 gives me the same rate of deceleration as Autobrake 4. The aircraft comes to a very abrupt halt!Anyone else have this problem???Martin Neep

Colleagues,Imagine that you want to takeoff from airport A, fly to airport B (somewhere nice and quiet!) for practice approaches, circuits, T&Gs etc, to then return to airport A for the final landing. (I know that this goes on for 747 training in the real world at an airport in the UK...). How does one program the FMC in order to have the approaches at B in the system but then also the route back to A and the approach there? You can't have two destinations? Also given that one might wish to do a number/variety of approaches - visual, ILS, NDB etc at B. D/L'd the 747 last weekend. Didn't get to installing it till tonight. Turns out my package is apparently corrupted.
