Hi allI have the PMDG 747-400 FS9 How do I find the version or update that I have?I want to buy the FS2crew software and they advise us to make sure we have the latest update. I know that 1.20 is coming but what is the latest update?Thanks.Bat

OK first I'm running FSX and Vista 64 not XP or FS9.There is a breif mention of the ACARS system in the manuals Clicking on it in the FMC brings up a few pages. The only reference in the manual says some of this was put in for future use. What is the current state of this feature? How is it supposed to function in the future?

Ever since I installed PMDG 747-400X i've had terrible FPS, and honestly I thought it was my system that was too slow to handle all the graphics etc. involved with the PMDG B744. I really did think it was normal. However! Last night I tried to do fullscreen again for the first time after having switched my graphics card from HD2900 to HD3870X2 and everything was completely smooth (I haven't been using fullscreen because I wanted to use undocked windows)! I even increased most of the settings and it kept going smooth. I tried windowed mode again and it was terrible, but I noticed that when I made the window smaller FPS was as smooth as fullscreen. hey guys, just had a performance related question, im not sure how many of u guys use the 747-400x for fsx, i know most of the improvments r just cosmetic , eg lighting, wing flex but i thought i give it a shot & buy fsx.iv just built a new pc (DX9/XP), the specs are attatched in a text file and was wondering how this compares to other systems ppl use for fsx and would it be sufficient to run it with decent framerates even on medium settings, and also if ati cards handle fsx well or not.just thought id ask before i blow my moneny again, this pc has left me broke lol & iv got ch products yoke, pedals & throttle quaderent on the way...Thanks,Kaveesh Singh

Dear all,I'm flying on Vatsim for a while now, and lately I recieved an instruction from atc I did not hear before: 'Fly a full orbit'.I now know that this is a procedure to fly multiple 360 turns around a fixed point until cleared to leave the orbit. But it is not the same als a holding pattern on present pos. How do you fly it in the PMDG 737-800? Is there a way to fly it by fmc and LNAV? Or do you simply keep turning around you HDGselect button (this would be a somewhat strange method I think)?I don't think I will be instructed to do this again soon, but it might always be helpful to know the procedure if it happens to me a next time.Help would be greatly appreciated, …

I've noticed that quite a lot of the default FSX airports will put a "Heavy" a/c at a "Heavy" gate where there is no jetway.This creates a problem for the crew, and especially the passengers, when it comes to boarding. (obviously deplaning is not so difficult - we all just jump out!!) Is there any way to add the stairs available in the cargo model to the passenger model?Thanks!

I'm still learning the operation of the Boeing 747-400x and have only had minor difficulties until now. For some reason, after powering up and taking off I cannot get the autopilot switch to operate. It doesn't light nor does it show anywhere that it is active. All other systems seem to be in order. Is there something in the set up I've overlooked?I could sure use help on this one since I crashed a couple of times shortly after take off.Jack Fentress

Hello all,I've added an ils to rwy32 (109.70)at PANC. How do I add the frequency to the PMDG database? I have tried & failed! I added the two lines below but to no effect. This is driving me crazy. I thought I had figured out how to get the artificial horizon etc. to come on reliably (set IRS knobs to NAV then ALIGN, enter position in FMC, wait for alignment to finish, set back to NAV) but since upgrading my computer and reinstalling everything it just doesn't seem to work any more. See screenshot attached. I'm pretty sure I've followed the normal startup procedures to the letter.In the Options pages I've set my alignment time to 2 minutes (120 seconds). I can't find anything about this anywhere. My 736 appears slightly lower than the ground it's on. My other 737 series don't. Is there a solution. Sorry if it's already been discussed.Cheers Jim

HiI've been trying out the autoland function and i'm going through some trouble on some airports. I usually plot in a navfix for the runway i'm heading to in the FMC and then align and use autoland3. But on some airports it's not aligning correctly vertically and lands the 747 100-500 feet (maybe more sometimes) before the actual runway starts. I'm thinking I did something wrong with the "baro bug"? Hi all:With SB4, the Aerosoft MCP drivers, the Engravity drivers, 400X 1.2 and XP SP3 all scheduled for release in the very near future, I want to be prepared for FSX.Is there a payware or freeware program that allows for VC camera presets (that can then be mapped to various joystick buttons and the coolie hat) in the same way that Active Camera and FSUIPC allows for in FS9?Or, is there a way to do that already in FSX, and would someone, anyone, be willing to assist a complete ijut?I cannot fly 2D anymore, and TrackIR made me nauseated- so the defined camera views, mapped to the joystick is the way for me in FS9- and one of the big reasons I haven't dabbled with FSX more.…

Hi!I have a severe problem with my PMDG744X. When I enter the FSX, I loaded the panel state like "PMDG747XCold and Dark KESA". Although all displays went black, I can still hear the sound of Engines! so I cut the throttle manually, and the noise faded out.However, The most crusial problem happened next. Hi,I am planning a CPU upgrade, I currently have an E6600.PMDG, I know you already provided informations and suggestions about which hardware is best recommended, perhaps you could help me decide on one of the two CPU's above.My usage scenario is: FSX + ASX + PMDG 747 / MD-11. Currently I don't have any scenery installed due to performance hit. Also I want to be able to play online when SquawkBox is released and add Fs2Crew without performance penaltiles. Hi all, I tried to search for these issues but I couldn't find it, so I guess it hasn't been posted. I have a couple of questions about my new video card so I hope someone can help me out. I just bought the Nvidia AGP GeForce 7300GT with 512MB of video memory and DDR. When I first ran FS2004, it would hang or lock up, and I had to restart the computer. It did this twice. I went to Nvidia's web site and downloaded the latest drivers and that seemed to help. But now, every time I click on something in FS2004, it flickers a couple of times and everything is fine. After I registered FSUIPC 3.80, everything when I plotted a route with SID into FMC, and before even engine start, the active LNAV rounte line in MAP MODE changed when I paused the game.After takeoff the line shifted even more, during climb and turn too.
