I have been practicing my RTO procedures with a fully loaded 747-400 under Vista, FSX and PMDG 747-400X. I feel that the indicated brake temperatures are too low.My RTOs took place at EGLL RWY27R with OAT 15C, flaps 20 and a dry runway. Aircraft had a ZFW 264.5 tonnes and a GTOW of 437.1 tonnes. With V speeds of 154/170/191, I accelerated to 154 to execute the RTO. But for 10 minutes after coming to a halt, the brake temperatures all showed only 2. Surely this is not realistic?Cheers, Richard

Hi allI am going to try the new update tonight for 747-400X,but two questions before i do1,do i need to uninstall pmdg 747-400x before install the new update??2,will i have to reinstall all my repaints??Many thanks

On both the FS9 and FSX updates, I get a message that there is a problem installing VS2008 and the installer must quit. So, I don't know whether or not my updates have been successfully installed. When attempting to run the FS9 version, the PMDG navdata loads extremely slowly compared to the previous version. But, the cockpit looks normal after everything finally loads. I have not tried the FSX version yet.I would appreciate some guidance from PMDG on the VS2008 problem.Thanks.

Hi,Following the FS9 B744 update, I did a quick flight from KSEA to KPDX. Reaching about F200 doing about 320KIAS with LNAV and VNAV engaged, the aircraft starting rolling from side to side, up to 5 degrees either side of wings level. I did a DCT TO the same waypoint and for a few seconds the aircraft remained wings level, then started oscillating again. Strangely enough, the track (TRK-MAG) on the ND remained exactly the same.The oscillations stopped when I used HDG SEL, but restarted every time I used LNAV.Chad

I've created a new fuel planner for the 747.- You must have .Net Framework 2.0, 3.0 or 3.5 installed.- The installer is a ClickOnce installClickOnce may be new to a lot of people. It allows you to install software directly from a webpage and the software will check for updates itself. You no longer have control over where the application is installed on your computer, though it will appear in the Add/Remove Programs interface from where you can uninstall the program. Also, would you advise if you already have, or are able to take a look at the FS9 drivers- hopefully producing a cleaner, leaner and less performance impacting driver for FS9 as well? Hi,Thanks to PMDG for the continuing updates to the 747, much appreciated.I got myself set up for a quick (FS9 B744) test flight out of KSEA but the FMC wouldn't accept KSEA as the departure aerodrome because of an error within the SID/STAR file. On checking the SIDSTARS folder I noticed that all the files are dated 2005. The dates in the actual data are 04 Aug 05 to 31 Aug 05 and it says it is derived from AIRAC cycle 0508.Did the update install "new" SIDs and STARs?Chad

Hi all,I'm fairly new to FS and I recently purchased the 744f along with the 744. When I try to take-off in the 744 everything goes normal, but when I try and take-off in the 744f the plane wont lift off even though im at 200 knots, full flaps and full thrust. The tail just drags along the groung and the main landing gear dont lift off at all. I've tried uninstalling and reinstalling, restarting FS, restarting my computer and everything but no luck.It is not just one model of the 744f its all the models.Please help!

After fooling around with the new version, I am getting a strange indication on the eicas re the landing gear. When I open the landing gear page on the eicas and the gear is down after landing, I get an indication the doors are closed and there is no temperature.Should I uninstall and reinstall or just reinstall. I just installed everything fresh. Fresh Windows XP, with latest service packs, FSX with SP-1 and SP-2. PMDG 747-400 X was running after this. Now I installed the new patch v2.10 and FSX is not starting anymore. When I try to start is I see the default startup screen and then it takes a while and a window pops-up saying 'Ein schwerwiegender Fehler ist aufgetreten' (I hope I translate it correct: 'A severe error occurt'). There I can choos to try again and/or send a error report to Microsoft. But it crashes everytime again.Any ideas how to get it working again? I spend many hours of installing FSX with all addons and I don't want to reinstall everything.Regards,JJ

Hi everybodyThanks for the new V1.2 patch, I've installed it and it appears to have taken (AIRAC updated to 0802, haven't had time to actually go for a flight), but each variant (400/400F with each engine type) is still described as V1.0 on the aircraft selection screen. Is this normal?Also, on the FMC IDENT screen, the GE engines are now labelled '-80C2B5F'. Once again, is this normal? Not too much of a show stopper tho, I have to admit! :DChris Dalgarno

Hello,after installing the Update 1.20 (FS9) the autotuning of the ILS frequency doesn't work anymore. The only way to catch the ILS is to enter the frequency manually, ohterwise the NAV/RAD page of the CDU shows "PARK". I'm using the FlyEngravity CDU. Is this a known bug already?GreetingsTom

Hello everyone,I've been experiencing this for sometime now. Everytime I select a heading when the auto-pilot is engaged, the plane flies at a heading 3 degrees off. So to select a heading of 360 MAG, I have to input 357 MAG.I am running FSX with SP 1 and SP2 and v2.1 of PMDG 747-400. I had the problem before moving up to SP 1 and 2 and before moving up to v2.1 of the PMDG 747-400Anyone else experiencing this? Thoughts/suggestions would be much appreciated.Thanks,Tabraiz

I just downloaded PMDG 747X repaint from PMDG web-page. If you look at picture, front of the plane goes white as soon as I open the landing lights. When I shot them it goes back to regular repaint color.Any idea what causing the problem??Sanal

I am trying to install the 737NG on vista from the old boxed version and get the message about needing GDI+ if not using XP. Thing is the link in the text doesn't work so I don't know how to get the GDI+ files. Can you tell me where to donwload it? Do I need them for vista? (I am installing to FS9 not XP btw).Thanks for any help.Andy S

Pete,As always I am a fan of your hard work! Just has to wonder if we are going to see the MD-11 in that Wavy Gravy Livery? I know they painted maybe a couple in that horrible scheme, but almost seems like a vast improvement to the current livery. Hello Robert and team,It's already a few months I've been thinking to ask you this question. As I am an user of your B-744 for FS9 and FSX, I like to ask you why it is impossible to use the numeric keyboard to input data into the FMC. In Belgium (and France, maybe in some other countries too), we use AZERTY keyboards instead of QWERTY and the numbers on the alpha-numeric keyboard are switched. I mean we have to use the shift-key each time to type the numbers (1 to 0). Hi all,I have already posted this but i get no luck. When I try to take-off in a 747-400F with flaps 20, trim 6.0, empty load, full take-off thrust, perfect weather and a runway with a 744f capable length the aircraft will just not take-off. The nose wheel will lift off and the wings will flex how they should. I have followed the FMC procedures and have made sure everything is correct but still the aircraft won't lift off.I am new to MSFS and I really need help.P.S: I do have the 744 for FS2004 installed first and I have tried reinstalling everything in the order which PMDG tell you.

Any plans to release an SDK for the 744X?Payware add-ons like FS2 Crew are substandard (compared to the LSD 763 FS2C) due to a lack of SDK resiltin gin the app being unable to read switch positions (according to their developers when I asked).I have (purchased), love and respect the 744x but would like ot see more add-ons for it.Thanx.

For reference, I'm using the PMDG 747-400X in FSX Acceleration. I have AIRAC 0805 installed for the PMDG FMS.I was planning a flight from Amsterdam Schiphol (EHAM) to Tokyo Narita (RJAA). I used RouteFinder (http://rfinder.asalink.net) to create a route and export it to PMDG 744 format, but found the FMC wasn't loading it correctly.I tried to enter the route manually, but still ran into problems. It refused to accept certain fixes as being part of an airway. I manually checkedthe wpNavRTE.txt file, and it did list these waypoints on those airways.For example, one leg of the route created by RouteFinder was RINOV B954 ULDD.
