PMDG General Forum

I would like an easy step by step tutorial of how to program the FMC. Because the manual does not cut it. But on a more specific note, what is the Co Route option, and how do i use it? and, the manual says something about being able to used pre-programmed routes. This info in the the 3 pictures attached to the post. Look at them, and then tell me how to input the pre-planed flight plan into the FMC.

I'm trying to get a better understanding of flying the 747-400 and obtained a lead for a file in the AvSim library which, when opened, is titled as an "Advanced Operations Tutorial" seemingly written for FS2004. I have my PMDG 747-400 FSX updated to version 2.10. The tutorial also has some addon-files; DLH454.rte, LH454 Tutorial Flight,LH454 Tutorial Flight.sav, and LH454 Tutorial Flight.WX with instructions where to place the files in the FS2004PDMG folders.My question(s) are; Is there a comparable tutorial for the FSX verison? If not, will those additional PDMG tutorial files also work with the FSX version? /s/ Tony Piech

I searched the forum but could not find a related topic for this minor issue.Currently running FSX w/ SP2 with Vista 32bit( SP 1 ) and the 747X with SP v2.10. The only problem I am having is with the PMDG options menu. When I make changes and click the OK box none of the changes save or seem to take effect. For instance, I am not gonna wait 10 minutes for IRS alignment so I set it to 60 seconds but the changes dont take effect. I like the single cue FD indicator but it wont save when I select it. I am sure (or hoping) that this is a minor issue, or that I am missing something really silly.Please note I am slowing moving to Vista and was recently running FSX on XP where ev…

Using FSBuild 2.3. I set the directory right and saved the config file ok. "Created: C: program Files(x86)/Microsoft Flight simulatorX/PMDG/FlightPlans KBOSKORD. No errors. When I go to load a flight from that directory, all it seems to want to read is .PLN files it wont list .rte files. If I use Co Route in the FMC it say's not in database.I used to use FSBuild ok in FS9?Any idea's? Cant figure out why FSX don't seem to like .rte files, tried every thing I can think of.

It seems that my 747-400X has adopted the idea of landing slightly to the left of runways, never at the center line as my LevelD 763 does. This applies to whatever airport or runway I choose. It is a bit annoying because until the last minute I dont know if I should disconnect autopilot to land manually. I know that some airports such as MMMX do not have a center ILS but this behaviour of my 747-400X applies also to airports such rwy32 CYOW, rwys CYUL, and others where CATII and CATIII are possible. Can PMDG or someone else put me on a possible resolution on this. Thanks in advance.Jean-Guy

Since new update, I have noticed an option under "various" in the PMDG General Option Menu showing an option called Autobrakes High Decel Rate with a check box next to it. Can anyone tell me what this is for and at what point do you select and use this option? Any help will be appreciated.Thanks, Perry FincherUSA

Someone here recently added a comment regarding the dome light on a recent video I made with this great aircraft. It was a dawn flight and during system start etc I cannot get the dome light to come on until at least one engine has started. The backlighting etc works fine for the switches on the MCP and the overhead but not the dome.Am I experiencing the norm or erhaps missing some switch. I think the Gen Con switches were off, would this affect the dome light??Chris Ibbotson

Hi Guys,I have downloaded various liveries for FSX (self installers from PMDG's site and some from Avsim) but they do not show up on my Aircraft List, only the house colour ones are there.I can however see them in the PMDG747-400 folder, ie texture.VS and the correct entry was also made in the Aircraft.CFG file. "Show all Variations" is also ticked as is suggested in many similar topics on the Forum with the same problem as me.Am I missing something, running FSX on Windows XP.Regards and hope you can assist.Willem

When i try recording videos using FSX's inbuilt viedo recorder, the screen turns blank but the engine sounds could still be heard....It's the same when i try to load a flightplan in mid-flight.Lastly, is there a way on this aircraft that i can convery IAS to TAS???( FSx built in options do not work)Thanks in advance.

I have the 747 and the LD767. I notice on the 747, the evevator sticks. On takeoff, I pull back the yoke and sometimes the elevators go DOWN!!!. This is verified by the external view and the STAT display showing the inputs for the elevator, airelons etc.All other planes do not have this problem. I just added the new Patch - no help. This makes takeoffs hard. I need to push/pull the yoke many times to get it in the up position for takeoff. Once flying I am OK. Also on landing when I want to flare, if I pull back, sometimes the elevators go down sending me into doom.Any help? Why do I get sporadic opposite elevator action to my input? After several re-installs of the subject livery for the standard 744X model (not -F), I could not find the texture.KA folder called-out by the respective fltsim.x section of the aircraft.cfg. I also checked on Wiki that the IATA-code for Dragonair is indeed "KA".What I figured out was, the livery installer (latest dated 19-May) is putting the Dragonair Cargo bitmaps in a texture.KAF folder. I guess someone wanted to differentiat it from being a true freighter model but forgot to update the texture= line in the aircraft.cfg.Anyway, to get Dragonair Cargo to work you have two options:1) Chage ..PMDG747-400texture.KAF to ..PMDG747-400texture.KAor:2) Change the respective …

More than I expected and definitely more then they mentioned in the PMDG manual. Hi guys I wanted to know if anyone of you have the 8800GT running on FS2004, I ask this because I'm planning on getting the Evga 8800GT with 512mb (Now I'm using the ATI Radeon x1950pro with 256mb with no problems so far) but I've read some forums from nvidia that people using 8800GTS had problems with FS2004 maybe because of the drivers so if you guys know the correct driver to use with the 8800GT for the FS2004 to run well please let me know, others in this forum say that the forceware 169.21 runs well with the FS2004 (Please confirm this.Regards,Victor

Captains-This morning I have updated the 747-400X livery download pages to reflect the fact that we have updated a number of pax/freighter liveries to correct such things as color, alpha channels, or other minor items.You will find that we have added version numbers and dates to the livery pages, so it is easier to determine if you should re-download a livery...Some of you will also be happy to note that VH-OEJ, is finally available. Hi folks,I bought the excellent 747-400X for FSX a couple of months ago and love it but due to some stability issues in FSX which may be attributed to my system overclock I'm considering re-installing FS9. I will continue to try and iron out the overclocks which have only recently given me problems in FS and not limited to just the PMDG aircraft.Will the 747X work in FS9 with the latest FS9 patch or do you require the original Queen of the Skies for FS9 installer. If the later is the case will my license files etc from my 747X version work on FS9. I would hate to not be able to fly it in FS9 ;-(RegardsChris Ibbotson

Hi all,When installing all of the PMDG products in the proper order, number 5 says "737NG 600/700 Model Update (updates the models to 800/900 standards)."Is this update only for those that do not have the 800 and 900 series or do I need to install this update even though I have the 800 and 900 series? Hey.i have tried to innstall 747 PMDG (fs2004)when i get a message :"The setup has detected that version 1.20.000 of PMDG747_400 Queen of the Skies is already installed.This setup installs an earlier version of PMDG747_400 Queen of the Skies (1.10.000).You will have to uninstall the previous version before innstalling this version"i had to reinnstall the 747 because i was gonna install 737 series.i cant find nothing 747 on my pc , its all gone, but when i reinnstall it, i got that message , i have tried everything, deleted the reg in "regedit" , anyone can help me ? plz, i was planning EDDF-KMCO today : (

Hello all.I am having some major trouble with my PMDGOPTIONS.dll.When i installed the PMDG 737 FS kept breaking after about 40 minutes flying. I would loose the tab bar at the top of flight simulator and i wouldn't be able to right click anything on my computer.http://img523.imageshack.us/img523/8788/fscrashgd2.jpgThe problem looked like that.I deleted the PMDGOPTIONS.dll and all was good. Although i lost the PMDG tab at the top.When i installed the 744 the other day it re-installed the PMDGOPTIONS.dll. Now i am getting the same problem as before :( I tried to delete it but when i do FS refuses to run the PMDG 744 :(Any help would be appreciated!Sam

Hi, does anybody have an idea of how this would be achived....To allow the lighting of the panel during day light, as apposed to the 1000000000 candle watt used on police helicopters that has been installed within the NG cockpit. Im not new to the PMDG 737 nor FS, its just that ive got sick of the light! Thanks David
