First of all, I ahve to say, the PMDG 737-600/700 is probably the best add-on I've ever seen in FS2004. However, I do have a slight problem.When I'm in the virtual cockpit, I can't hear any sounds when I press a button or pull a lever. For example, when I lower the flaps in the virtual cockpit, I can't hear the clicking sound that I would in the 2D panel. I used to be able to hear them, I didn't do anything to the settings or anything.Any help will be appreciated.-Jon E.

Please help. I am new to complicated aircraft. I have made progress and can now get the J41 loaded properly and started w/o burning up the engines.As I roll on takeoff how do I handle the throttle and the condition level??? Do I move them together or move one ahead of the other???Thats when the engine smokes. I am not applying the throttle and condition lever properly. I know it is a stupid question but cant seem to get by this point. I am having no problem with applying the stop latches. Thanks in advance for any advice.Frank Neeley

Hi, one question concerning importing flightplans: I use FSC in a network configuration. With every other aircraft by PMDG it isn't a problem to plan a flight, save it and load it in the FMC of the 747 and MD11 right away. That doesn't work with the J41. I have to reload the aircraft, before the according flightplan can be picked from the list in the FMC. Why is this happening?Regards, Ingo

Hello, first let me say that this is a great product!!! This plane really handles well on an approach and is generally very stable.My question to you is, how do I use the TCS system? There is a reference to it in the AOM but I cant seem to find the button or any keypresses to use it. Has it not been incorporated?And secondly... I cannot ever seem to save a flight plan from the FMC and have resorted to using FSBuild instead. Whenever I type in the flight plan, turn off avionics, start engines and then turn back on avionics, I have to turn the FMC back on (off course) but it seems to lose my flight plan. It remembers everything else though. I have selected Save Flight plan …

Although PMDG decided not to go for 2D cockpit / panels, I was wonderingwhat the cause of their decision was ?Is it so that 2D cockpits / panels are so hard to build then ?Because I was always under the impression that the VC the hard part was...

I made it into Dutch without any problems...well sort of.When I initially tried to leave cold Bay, I melted two engines attempting to get them out of start locks. Not something I'm braggin about tho. :( However on the second attempt, all went well.What a rush going into that short strip. The bird performed awesome and I sure had the confidence she would.What a busy plane I tell ya.

Reading through the posts here the last couple of days makes it clear PMDG really screwed the pooch with this release. SOOOOO many people with blown engines. The amount of money PMDG has lost due to lack of foresight is astounding.Had they been smart, they would have added a tiny bit of code that would deactivate the J41 product every time an engine is blown up / melted. A message box would appear letting the customer know where they could purchase a new engine for a measly $2 which, in turn, would re-activate the product. Rebuilt engines could be purchased for the bargain basement price of $.50 (but are time limited). Re-built engines are the perfect purchase for those w…

Thanks for the great sim of the J41. The little bit of time I had last night I enjoyed it fully. But I wouold appreciate if someone could answer a question for me.Robert mentioned early on that there was gonna be a New Failure Module either included in the J41 release or shortly after because of development timelines. I have asked a few times on this forum, but never got an official reply.Is PMDG still planning to develop the new failure module Robert talked about a while back for the J41?Great bird, it has brought me back into FS again.JB

Hello I would like to ask why there is no keymapping support in the excellent J41Not even support for standard FSX keys.It is so sad to see such a brilliant and advanced product with no hardware support at all.This also worries me with regard to the NGX as I believe this will be built using techniques from the J41.Please tell me this is being rectified. How do you get the throttle levers into reverse prop position without having to use the mouse? With my throttle levers (GoFlight GF-TQ6) In the low idle position the throttle levers for the 41 do not go to the lowest position therefore i cannot apply reverse throttle? Help please :( Using the mouse to do this while land is not the way!David

FLight plan entered (via stored fps) : EDHL HAM G5 NORTA B293 WRB T152 GED EDDFNow when I enter the VNAV pageHighlight DATA > Press ENTER to go to the VNAV DATA PAGECRUISE ALT : highlight and enter 15000 ft > Here the 15000ft doesn't stay there and it always shows "------"TRANSITION LEVEL > Change it to "5000ft" and press ENTERThen of course I need to come back immediately to correct that "------" entry in the CRUISE ALT field... As I made an error by adding the STAR and transition to the original flightplan, thus having it twice, I tried to remove the waypoints, only ending up deleting the plan...So I attempted to add the STAR and transition by hand...I was already past the initial fix of the STAR, LRP, and the sim promptly froze...No chance of shutting FSX down, had to restart the machine with the reboot switch... couldn't even get to the task manager or back to desktop...I'll need to have a look at this again. Has anybody else experienced lock ups ar CTDs with en route changes to the flightplans?Andrew

I have been following the tutorial from the start o a number of occasions but each time I get to switching on the FMC I only get a small yellow rectangl near the centre of the screen.Can someone please advise what I'm doing wrong here?CheersWG

Firstly thank you for a great, much needed turbo prop simulation. However there are a few issues / questions I have -There are 4 AP warning lights on the coaming next to the FCS switches, according to the manual they should light up upon AP, YD disconnect and also for an out of trim situation. They don't appear to work. AP disconnected and no illumination. They should also test light up when the standby FCS switch is held in? Again this doesn't appear to work.A question about the flow controls for the air conditioning - do they actually affect the engines in an observable way? Good morning PMDGMy old monitor is out of order. Now I'll buy a new widescreen-monitor. Does the 747-400 (FSX/FS9) and MD11 (FSX/FS9) support widescreen monitos?Or what additional software I've to install it?Thanks for your support on this question.Best regards Marcel

I see there's no checklist available in the kneeboard. Was this left out intentionally? If so, I sometimes prepare my own checklists in a text file and place it in my aircraft folder. Problem is, I don't know how to name it for the JS4100. Can you help me with this?Thanks,Curt Branch

Hello fellow Simpilots and Developers!I studied your tutorial and the AOM with interest. Nevertheless I am searching for two functions for which I did not find any description:1. Is there any possibility for a DME Hold Function on Nav1 or Nav2.2. Is there a possibility to commence engine ventilation e.g. for cooling down the EGT after stopping for restarting the engines earlier?Thank you for this great airplane and your hard development work.

Hello, I was wondering if it's entirely necessary to load up the PMDG demo flight every single time you want to start the airplane up from dark and cold?Would this be the correct procedure?:1: Load the PMDG demo flight2: Select airfield of choice 3: Adjust time/dateAnd only then you'll be sure every panel state is proper? That's quite a lot of extra work IMO. First you load the scenery from the demo flight, then you load the place you actually want to fly and then you'll need to load the time/date textures if needed.
