I remember reading about this in a thread a while back. I filed it in the back of my mind for later use but the grey matter is not up to much these days. I am using the MD11 in FSX and am running on Windows 7. I have CH yoke, throttle and saitek peddles. I have the full version of FSUIPC with most of the levers and whot-not calibrated in FSUIPC. Flap lever on the MD11 works better when that axis alone is mapped through FSX.For some reason I need to reverse the toe breaks to get them to break when pressed. If not reversed the breaks are constantly on. I am not able to release the parking break with a dab of the toe breaks. This happens during all stages when on the…

While I'm patiently waiting for the NG2, I thought I'd give the old PMDG737 main 2D panel a facelift. It was actually made for FS2002! If I only had access to any photoreal panels, I would use that. But I think the original FSX B737-800 2D bitmap looked a lot better than the old PMDG737 bitmap, so I swapped the bitmaps. Then I moved the rest of the gauges around with FsPanelStudio. I found the photoreal sideview bitmaps on Stellan Hilmerby's page. The colours don't blend too well, I know, and the panel layout is wrong, I know, but this panel will serve my flights well until the NG2 arrives. And I doubt the NG2 will have a 2D panel at all. :( :(

Everytime I open the FSInn Control Panel to log in to the VATSIM server I get the subject warning for all the add-on liveries I downloaded from the PMDG Website for the B1900D. I have five liveries for the 1900D dowloaded beside the "default" PMDG livery that comes with the purchase of the aircraft. The warning that is generated does not list the PMDG liveries of 2D, VC, and VC/Cabin as an error. Only the add-on ones. Hello everyone,I have the PMDG Boeing 737-600/700/800/900 and last time I experienced something strange on the 737-600/700/800/900. I guess it's because they have a new panel, different from the old one the 600/700 had. Now also the 600/700 have, because I updated the panel with the one provided by PMDGHere's the problem:When opening the FMC/CDU, I always have to enter some numbers, like runway-data. Unfortunately my keypad ONLY had shifted down. So this means when pressing number 4, I get number 1. The thing I don't understand that it is not like that everywhere. Well finally after 5 years my ACER Ferrari 3400 has died and my other laptop, a Toshiba A200, just doesnt keep the frame rates up. With Flight Environment set to full cumulus and the slider half way manages about 12 to 15 FPS and less of course in the VC and the airport areas. I am currently running FS2004 with PMDG aircraft.So I have been thinking about a HP DV5T with 4GB RAM, 320 GB SATA drive, a NVDIA 9600M (512 card) and screen res supported is 1680 x 1050. Is it a good buy and will it enable me to migrate to FSX or is there something better? I should point out that this is going to be an FS machine pure and simple and other such incidentals as the Internet and MS Off…

I read in a flying mag where they were discussing if a microsoft flight simulator geek could successfullyland a 747 if both pilots fell unconscious. They interviewed a pilot who said that even if one knew how to land in a simulator he probably would not even be able to adjust the seat properly because it is complicated.Well how complicated is it? Are there not some seat moving controls somewhere? Where are they and how wouldour MS geek be able to adjust his seat properly to save everybody and land the plane? :))ThanksAl

Maybe I should have posted this with the other topic. Ah well.I have read on numerous forums, and spent a lot of time reading up on, what is supposedly the correct procedure for VOR/DME or any non-precision approach (instrument) into an airport, on the 747.I have recieved mixed feedback. One theory is to use LNAV all the way down to your MDA, and also VNAV from the FAF to MDA, (whilst cross checking with solid VOR indications), as this will be more precise than hand flying or using HDG SEL, for example.What techniques are being used by people on here?

I admit I haven't follow PMDG forum in a long while, basically since I switched to FSX in April '08. I used to frequent this area back when I used FS9 and the PMDG 737NG, but since the FSX version has yet to arrive I haven't been following along.With that being said, there was a new aircraft released a few weeks ago called the L-39 from Lotussim. I haven't bought the product since that particular plane isn't my thing, however I was interested to see if PMDG may plan to develope for upcoming products a few of the features that they use. So I just did a flight on fs2004. CYYZ - KLAS. And after being cleared for the ILS runway 25R approach, around 500ft I disengaged the autopilot and continued to fly the approach manually. but at the 200 to 150ft mark all the sudden all the trim levels the autopilot had set for the approach suddenly returned to there neutral settings, and I was thrown off the approach path and forced to make some wild maneuvers to complete the smooth landing (which I was able to do :) ).Now I have had this happen a few times but it's starting to make me wonder if I am doing something wrong on my final.So any thoughts and what might be causing this to happen?Thanks

Hi all,For quite a while now I'm fiddling about with the problem that I'm not able to see my buddies in the TCAS display when using the PMDG B737 800/900 and as well the B747-400 (both in CD version with all updates available) . We are using FSHost and Teamspeak for our virtual sessions. I tried the settings in either mode (FS2004 and FSUIP, the latter I found recommended in PMDG OPS) in the PMDG options menu but without any success. There is no problem with other payware in use (e.g. Aeroworx B200, F1 ATR72-500 and ISG1 gauges) and even the usual freeware TCAS does work fine. Offline the skies are crowded and I don't have any trouble operating the system as such.Maybe so…

Hey everyone,Unfortunately I have a problem with my 737NG. After loading the aircraft into FS2004 the battery is empty and I only get power to the cockpit via Standby Power. I neither can start the APU nor connect Ground Power to the aircraft. This happens for about two weeks now, maybe caused by installing the Captain Sim 757. The time before the 737 was all right.Do you know what I can do?

Just another question here for a MS flightsim Geek who has found himself pressed into service to land a 747because both pilots fell unconscious after a terrible inflight airline meal!! So if he finds himself sitting in the cockpit and the 747 is under autopilot what can he do to radio fortower or control center assistance? Should he try and tune the radios to 1215 emergency channel or what? How canhe do this? Which buttons near the pedestal allow him to tune frequencies and broadcast his request for adviceon how and where to land the plane?ThanksAl (MS Geek)

Is Sorry, my computer wigged out. Question: Is there a way in the 744 (or MD-11 for that matter) to make the preferences in the menu stick? It seems like everytime I load a plane, it doesn't have my preferences (custom 2 minute alignment on the IRS, etc.) or keyboard shortcuts? Do I have to save that somewhere else? Is it the liveries? I.e., if I fly the such and such paint job on the RR engine, and then fly a different one, does it not stick? Kind of annoying re-programming everytime. Thanks, Doug

hello everyone..i have bought PMDG's 737 :)it is working very well but i have just one problem which is very anoying...when i am trying to land using ILS i am setting the frequency and the course and switching the VOR LOC it is not lining up.. it is parallel but not on the center line..little bit right. could you understand..?=\ i tried it on airport with or withnot scenery and it doesnt work on the both..and i tried with the 747 and it does work:( please..thank you very much:)

Hi,I have already bought a B737NG 600/700 download version when it was released.Afterwards I had to download the upgrade to version 1.3.Later on I bought the download version of B737NG 800/900.I have put both on a CD as back-up. They have been used and installed in FS9 on subsequent XP PCs without any problem. Now, I reinstalled FS9 on a Vista PC.I reinstalled B737NG 600/700 and everything went fine.Then when I try to install B737NG 800/900 I get the message that I have the CD rom version (see pic) and it doesn't installCan somebody help me?Thanks

hello everyone, i know this is not a forum issue, but i came across an NDB approach chart for GCLA LA PALMA, in the canary islands, but i have looked everywhere in fs9 go to airport and cannot find this airport, i know this is nothing relevant, but i was curious why it appears to be missing as are the canary islands in total. many thanks in advance for answers. richard welsh.
