Hello there,I have a couple of questions for the PMDG team, or anyone who can answer them. After my recent livery release I have noticed a few question popping up about the cabin windows at night. To be more specific when the landing lights are turned off they also turn off the cabin lights (not polite for the passengers you know). The landing light splash and the cabin lights are located on the same texture, is there any plan to change this around so that turning of the landing lights doesn't leave our passengers sitting in the dark wondering whats going on? One more question I have for the PMDG team is the following. Boeing has recently (within the last year) changed …

Found this tip over on the MSFS forum. for FS9, go into your Autogen folder and change the name of the file, bgl to something like donotusebgl.bak. Start FS and see if you get a framerate increase. I went from 12 to 17 at KSAE looking at the Terminal in spot view.Worth a try for thoes having FR problems.

Hi Pilots,Im trying to write a SID for London Heathrow to Southampton.I have a SID chart from the CAA. The route is described as:- Streight ahead to intercept LON VOR R259 until LON D7 then turn right onto WOD NDB QDM 272Degrees. At LON D13 turn left intercept SAM VOR R036 to SAM VORThe actual chart uses LON D7 LON D12 LON D13 LON D15 SAM D27 SAM D24 at these ranges are altitude constraints. Now to my question. R259 means Radial 259 I guess. This is 259 Deg from the VOR so so i put 259 into the SID or 259 - 180?Most of the LON Dnn's are not in the NAVAID file and are reportes as errors in the FMC, how do I go about entering this into the SID? I know about fixes but for so…

After many flights, this is the first time I noticed this green line that shows the radial of the VOR that I have tuned. I've used VORs many times but never saw it before. I have no idea how I was able to get it to appear.I haven't seen it in the manuals....anyone knows how I can turn it on or off?Anthony

I'm confused by the difference in the max takeoff weight shown in the load manager:http://forums.avsim.net/user_files/35092.jpgAnd the max gross weight shown in FS9.http://forums.avsim.net/user_files/35094.jpgIs there really a 20000 lb difference between max gross and max takeoff? Here's the excerpt from aircraft.cfg:[WEIGHT_AND_BALANCE]reference_datum_position= 52.730, 0.000, 2.120empty_weight_CG_position=-48.170, 0.000, 0.000max_number_of_stations=50empty_weight=83000.000empty_weight_roll_MOI=1411540.000empty_weight_pitch_MOI=1821510.000empty_weight_yaw_MOI=1518876.000empty_weight_coupled_MOI=230.000//station_load.0=28480.000, -48.350, 0.000, 1.050//max_gross_weight=1535…

Ok, on Ray's assurance that I would get plenty of help around here, I purchased the product. First question is: Other than the 3(+1) install files, the SU1 Full and the current SID/STARS database, what other files/data should I have? What about these FMC updates. Then so you can see how new I am to this...Will somebody please explain the SIDS/STAR stuff from the basics.Thank you,Mike "Ranger" Stinchfield

Hello there,SOME CONSIDERATIONS:====================First of all, I considered many times to ask for a refund on the 737NG, PMDG released a product in beta stage for costumers, I don't know the exactly reasons, but I think I has to be a good one.(commercial strategies, maybe?)BUT with service pack 1, the product is getting closer to what I expected to my USD 40. And their commercial support is doing great since the release also, I think it have chances to become a "must have". :)MY QUESTION - FPS - 2D PANEL VIEW=================================Is PMDG working on the FPS issue? There are plans for updates to improve general FPS on the panel views?Thats because I get about …

my question is...should we allow ourselves to run the center tanks dry at all? From what I've read (Bulfer FMC guide and, in particular, the link below) at least 1000 lbs of fuel should be left in the center tanks to keep the pumps submerged to avoid a explosion/fire risk (sparks igniting the fumes-it seems to have happened to Boeing aircraft on a number of occasions)?http://www.b737.org.uk/faaad.htm-takeoff: switch center tank pumps off if <5000lbs-clb/crz: switch center tank pumps off if <1000lbs-des/ldg: switch center tank pumps off if <3000lbsRegards,Martijn

Anthony / PMDG,I'm having a lot of difficulty trying to understand how the FMC works compared to the one on the 767PIC. Sorry to keep mentioning that product but I use that as the benchmark for all others. Whether that is correct I'll leave up to you to decide. My latest problem is at ToD on a flight back to Manchester (EGCC) from London Gatwick (EGKK). On the attached screen shots you can see the state of play just after ToD when the FMC had disconnected VNav and warned of an overspeed. Quite what this warning means I don't really know. The engines hadn't spooled back to idle as I would expect when starting a descent. Instead they were running around 65 N1.The MCP altitud…

G'day fellow flight simmersI just thought I would let you Continental fans know that I have completed my version of the Continental Airlines livery for the -700. It features all the goodies you can think of: hand drawn textures including the tail, custom windows, new alpha channels, new engine textures, and more Oh, and if you get a chance count the rivets for me I'm dying to know exact total (I'm guessing around 5000):-lolAnywho here are some pics of the final product :-hahhttp://forums.avsim.net/user_files/34995.jpghttp://forums.avsim.net/user_files/34996.jpghttp://forums.avsim.net/user_files/34997.jpghttp://forums.avsim.net/user_files/34998.jpghttp://forums.avsim.net/u…

I have two small problems with 737, I go to list them: 1) The scalettes/stairs of access with FS9 with that combination of keys you/they are opened??? I have tried them all, those to me known, but they have not succeeded there, in Fs2002 it seems pits to me with the in nose Concorde, I have also tried with FS9 but nothing from to do

When I downloaded and ran SU 1.1 today, my computer immediately crashed all the way to a re-boot. I've downloaded both SU 1.1 and SU 1.1 Mini, but it doesn't seem to matter; they both cause a re-boot.Is it possible that the Service Update files have somehow become corrupted? I downloaded other software from other sites to test whether it was my computer, but all downloaded and installed with no problems. For what it's worth, I have an Windows XP Pro, an AMD Athlon XP 2400+, 512 MB of RAM, a Geforce FX5200 with 128 MB of RAM, an 80 GB hard drive not anywhere near full ...Thanks in advance for any help you can give me.Joel

From my search of the forum it appears that this doesn't yet exist, so I would like to ask the developers about this:What's the possibility of getting key mapping to various 737NG functions, or some programmatical API?I use a number of goflight usb control modules (www.goflightinc.com), which work quite well with default fs9 aircraft, but not so well withvarious PMDG 737NG functions (A/P, etc). Now, one of the goflight modules does allow mapping of external buttons to keypresses, but there doesn't seem to be a way to map keypresses to corresponding NG only functions.Additionally, if an API was extended for NG, I could write an interface which would allow the goflight mod…

The PMDGOptions.DLL issue you're having is ONLY happening when you run the French version FS9. I have been trying to figure out why, but I cannot. Please contact me privately via email at [email protected]

PMDG crew....I'm not sure if this has any bearing, you may have already checked this out. But I thought it worth a mention.Chatting with another FS buddy on the phone tonight, I was convincing him to buy the PMDG 737. I was relating to him the realism of your model, and among other stories of how much fun I was having, I was telling him a story about how I had got caught napping not managing my fuel (something you unrealistically don't have to do with DF) and experienced a flame out en route. It was totally my doing, learning curve as it was only my second flight. He immediately mentioned how he has been flying the default 737 only in FS9 and the same thing has happened t…

LOL... Who can tell me what is wrong with the Whiskey Compass in PMDG's NG? And it isn't even April 1st!"Ya canna break the laws of physics", as Scottie would say. Beam me up Vincent! ;-)Cheers.Ian.P.S. OK, so I'm dumb... it took me a few weeks to figure out... I still think the beta guys should hang their heads in shame :(P.P.S. By the way, why is my windshield wiper sitting on the dashboard in the Landing View??? Isn't it supposed to be on the outside of the window :-lol
