Does anyone know how (or even if) to update any of the navaids in FS9? Case in point: I was flying from KALB to KMCO. One of my fixes was Savannah (SAV). PMDG and FS Navigator have the correct and current Lat/Long for the new SAV TACAN location, but FS9 does not. There was a disparity in the route via PMDG FMS and what FS9 was expecting me to fly.I know I could just "take it like a man" and ignore the ATC and go about my merry way. But, in the interest of realism, it should seem we could update the FS9 database.Thanks!/R,Hawkeyeted

Could someone please tell me if there is a way to update the Standard navdata database with the airways and such, because when I use the VACC flightplan center to file a flightplan I always check it in FS9 flightplanner, but some airways are just replaced aswell as the intersections.

Hello EveryoneI'm using Jeppesen's Flight Star to do my private flight planning and there is also a wonderful and quite exact profile for the 737-700. But there aren't any profiles available for the -800 -900 versions.I saw in some of the tutorials that there are other users using that tool and I wanted to ask if someone has got a profile for our "bigger" planes? Thanks already...Martin

Hallo All!I studied hydraulic manual of real 737 and I got feeling that it should be possible to operate flaps using electrical hydraulic pumps B only. I remeber that it was possible within PMDG 737 600/700 as well. Now, in 600 to 900, electrical pump is working, hydraulic system is presurized, but flaps does not move.Is this a bug?

Hello EveryoneWith the up and coming release of 747-400 Queen of the Skies I thought I would post a question about why an airline would choose one engine type/manufacturer over another? The differences in FS are a different discussion, I am wondering what happens when an airline buys a plane, what factors do they weigh up? I assume things like initial cost, fuel efficiency, maintenance costs, life cycle and so on but what else. Are some better suited to short hops and others to long hauls. For instance you can get the 747-400 with three engine manufacturer flavours, namely Pratt and Whiteney, Rolls Royce and General Electric, but you can't get the Rolls Royce engines on t…

Hey all, lately I've been using the Speed DES profile but I'm wanting to change to the Path DES profile. Everytime I activate the Path DES, I get a message a little way through the descent saying something like "PATH DES UNAVAILABLE" and it switches back to speed. Anyone get this before or know the cause?Nick B.http://www.precisionmanuals.com/images/forum/800driver.jpg--AMD Athlon XP 3200+ @ 2.2 Ghz400W Power supply3x 80 mm Case FansSoyo VIA KT600 Dragon PlusnVidia GeForce FX 5200 128 mb2 x 512 PC400100 GB Western DigitalMicrosoft Sidewinder Precision 2

Hello, Captains,At times, when descending in VNAV, the FMC informs that "DRAG (is)REQUIRED", because of too high speed. What to do? Just press > and raise the speed brakes? In real airplanes, I don't think this is a normal procedure, since abnormal changes in attitude can cause serious body damages.Any info is quite welcomed.BPilot

Hi there, I hope you're doing well. I'm wondering if it's possible to extend the flaps while still in VNAV mode? I notice that if I extend the flaps while still in VNAV it promptly disconects. Is there any way around this.. or should I just re-enable VNAV again once I've extended the flaps? I'd love to do the approach in to KASE RW15 which requires a final leg with a 9 degree glideslope on short final... Thank you in advance :-) And where's that juicy looking 747?!?!?!Sincerely, John P.Vancouver, CanadaLook at the final legs and crossing altitudes... http://forums.avsim.net/user_files/79880.jpg

Captains-In the interest of trying to keep some semblence of order to suspected problems/research/fixes, I'm going to anchor this post in hopes that it helps communicate some important issues.During the past week we've found some annoyances with the 8/900 that we are working to resolve. Rather than have 300+ threads for you to search through, we thought it might be helpful open up a 737-800/900 MAINTENANCE STATUS BOARD.The Maintenance Status Board can be found by going to http://www.precisionmanuals.com Click on SUPPORTClick on 737-800/900 Maintenance and Technical SupportClick on 737-800/900 Maintenance Status Board. The Maintenance Status board is a new tool that we are…

I am noticing a problem with the high altitude climb performance of the 737-800 and 737-900. For starters, I am using the load utility software to set the aircrafts payload and determine my zero fuel weight. After programming the FMS and taking off, the first thing I notice is that the TOC prediction on the ND is incorrect. The TOC prediction on the CLB page of the FMS is also incorrect. If I am climbing to FL350 the TOC prediction is always too close to the aircraft symbol on the ND and the aircraft usually levels off well after the point (although the point continues to remain slightly in front of the aircraft symbol). Furthermore, the aircraft is almost always una…

I remember reading about FSBuild 2.1 requiring someone to write the aircraft performance data in order to have the PMDG B1900 as one of the planes in FSBuild. I anyone working or making any progress on this? I fully realize that no one from PMDG would be spending any time on this (and no one would want them too with the updates and 747 coming) but anybody else working on it?

Hey guys,Is their any chance of someone doing a repaint of the PMDG 737-700 in a Freedom Air livery. Freedom air is a budget carier operating out of New Zealand to Australia and Fiji. The use 737-300's but a fictional 737-700 would be great for New Zealand flightsim fans.RegardsDaniel [email protected]

In order to explain my question in the fewest words, I need to use an example.Take a sample flight from KMHT to KALB with the following route:KMHT MHT V490 CAM KALBThis is not unusual for how you'd be cleared. Then, in actual practice, departing off of runway 35, you'd be given a clearance similar to ", fly heading 230 join V490". On the Honeywell NZ5.2 FMC software we have in the Challenger, I'd press the LSK next to MHT and then press LSK1 to "make MHT the 'from' waypoint" while still in HDG mode. I could then arm LNAV and the FGC would command flying heading 230 until it intercepted V490.Is there a way to do this on the 737 FMC? I'm stumped looking for it.Thanks,cz
