Hello, Captains,I'm looking for some literature or hints (MSFS) regarding the ATC terminology, such as RNAV, DILS and all the other stuff one sees when selecting an approach from ATC, and how do they relate to the FMC.It should ne simple, but I can't find any. Thanks,BPilot

Well its very easy to do, I made this discovery on the weekenddont change your panel view till you reach your cruise altitude. Its that easy! I have tried this on several flightsover the weekend and just completed a three hour flight from YSSY to NZAA tonight. I hope this helps out anyone else havingthe same problem. This problem occurs only after a flight reset - not with a fresh flight. When approaching V1/Vr, The THR HOLD annunication changes to MCP SPD and approx 60% N1 is commanded leading to crash unless autothrottle is selected off and full throttle applied quickly! This fault has become apparent as I am flying SIDs repetitively to check SIDSTAR file programming. It became apparent that occasionally it would not occur but, more often would - but never on a fresh flight.A previous post discussed many possibilities but none explained this. I have now discovered a critical piece of information in that CWS P is somehow engaged (uncommanded - and annunicated on the PFD in tiny yellow t…

HiAfter many hours in the PMDG, I still have two questions:- Is it possible to increase the update rate of the gauges in the virtual cockpit beyond the limit of 15 ?? I have moved the slider in the pmdg menu to max, but I still find the fps of the gauges a bit too low to be realistic.- What is a realistic zoom/height etc setting for the view in the virtual cockpit. I always try to get a good outside view, while still having full view of the lcd's.BTW, flying in virtual cockpit is great !- Timon.

Since MS2k2 came out it has been impossible to find a flyable Fairchild Dorneir Jet 328 and in a Skyway livery to boot. I am wondering if/when your company plans to make one of these great airplanes. The B190 is an excellent plane. We have a B717 form perfect flight, a J328 would complete the Midwest Virtual Airlines family and would add to the excellent payware available on the market. I'm sure if a payware version is released before a freeware version you will have a moderate market for them. Thanks for the info

Hi,As I am preparing for todays 4 sector flight another trivia question crossed my mind.Blue light "F OUTFLOW CLOSED" is lit when:a) FORWARD OUTFLOW VALVE is closed, or:( MAIN OUTFLOW VALVE is halfway closed, orc) Both answers are correctGo ahead and choose a, b, or c! :)Off to short story.Yesterday evening we got erroneous fuel temp reading. It was going up and down by 30 degrees. After going through cheklist and contacting mechanics we concluded nothing serious. That is until gauges showed 0 fuel in both tanks (center we did not fill up). All the bells went up. We continued our climb and tried to troubleshoot this one. Neither checklists nor mechanics did isolate/solve …

NAVDATA.AT is doing a very good job, maintening the data base for several addon. I have just a regret ; TOO much navaids are missing in the airac proposed. It's just due to the origin of the data..... My suggestion to the PMDG team is ; - or doing a fictional airac directly from the navdatas (VOR,NDB,ILS and so on ) directly from thoses present in the actual FS9 data base. - sent me the format of the PMDG data files so I can make myself my own full database according to FS9.ThanksMichel

Dear GroupI've recently installed two new airports (RKSI Incheon winged city & KBOS Boston Logan Int'l)after installing those two airport, airplanes always sit down on the grass at start.I use FSNavigator to plan routes and it seems to happen only when I use those flight plans imported from FSNavigator. Also, I've noticed that when I export flight plans from FSNavigator to FS2004, it usually ask me about departing runway, but everytime I try to export plans for those two airports newly installed, I get no departing runway list.I'm just wondering what has to be tweaked for this prob and hope someone could help me out. Thanks in advance.

  23. When the 800/900 upgrade was nearing completion it was anounced that as Microsoft had eventually released the nessesary SDKs the cockpit would have all bells and whistles (i.e. grabable controls, rain drops, etc. in the VC) in addition to the other extras like the glass reflections. Also, as part of the upgrade these modifications would be retro fitted to the 600/700 thereby making the package more complete and fully justifying the need to own/buy both planes. When the 800/900 was released not all the promissed updates to the 600/700 series where included, as it was pointed out this would make the download un-acceptably high to those without a broadband conection (fair eno…

Gents,Two questions on the topic of a Reversed Flight planned in the FMC.1) - Is there any data on the FMC where I could gather the VOR frequencies?2) - On arrival, the FMC did not accept the ATC runway! Every time a message said "Program Error"! After a few attempts - even for other RW's - the FMC crashed, the Legs disappeared and I was left "alone".Is this a known problem or just a coincidence? Thanks,BPilot

Hello fellow flyers,Just had an experience that was "a first" for me. I was flying from CYHZ (Halifax, NS, Canada) to EGLL (Heathro). I use FSBuild, ActiveSky, UltimateTraffic and the default ATC.During the "long" flight, I decided to cancel the IFR as I wanted to have a "quite" two channel approach. I asked for FF so I could call EGLL tower later and ask for a "full stop". I was given permission "straight in" to 27R (which I already had in the FMC). I was about 15 NM out. At about 3NM out with GS captured, gear down, flaps at 30, speed at 157, and dual channel set... I received a "caution" from the TCAS. I looked down and notice a "+2". Ok... no problem... I've been clea…
