Please correct me immediately if the following statement is incorrect:On the B1900D panel with only extra Jetline 2 gauge there is no Nav/Gps switch, disregarding the one that comes with the jetline radio stack. If that is true, and I am sure that it is, then for some users, including me, (I believe it is to do with your startup flight) when you engage APPR hold then the plane trys to fly you at a random heading yet descending with glideslope into a hill, and nav hold also puts you at a random heading. This is a known issue, to solve this all you need to do is flick that NAV/GPS switch and problem is solved. But it isn't on the panel. I've assigned a hotkey to it, but I don…

Hy,I would like to suggest a little improvement in the 737NG cockpit that I haven't found in the PMDG but still exists in other similar commercial package. As you know there's a situation when the flight displays in the cockpit are in a "stand-by" visualization. For example, you can see that situation in these pictures on airliners.net.http://www.airliners.net/open.file/508388/L/http://www.airliners.net/open.file/516595/L/In my personal opinion with this improvement, we should add much more realism in the 737NG PMDG. What do you think about ?? We can hope to have the improvement in the near future ??Thanks for allStefano - Italy -

I somehow got this message in the FMC, and was unable to log off. That meant that I couldn't access the FMC and it messed the remainder of my flight. Any idea how to Log Off of ACARS if you accidentally go there? Thanks.

I would love to download the 800/900 upgrade but have a few questions:1. If I download this product in 30 days, will the download have ALL the recent updates that have just been specified in the above email from R.R.??2. Can I use DAP as a download accelerator and not have PMDG websites look upon it as a threat and kick me off of the connection?I did get an ...unofficial...answer to this one from another member but not from PMDG.3. I currently have 'GetRight' download accelerator software and Vince emailed me last month and said that 'download accelerators' were a threat to the PMDG servers and would not work.....Is that fact or will the DAP accelerator work...Thanks agai…

The Dreamliner special livery, already seen on an Air Berlin -700, is now on a new Korean -900. Looks even more elegant on the longer bird - and it's seen here heading for Farnborough:http://www.airliners.net/open.file/621363/L/I enjoy flying Air Berlin -700 Dreamliner repaint... hope we will see a repaint of this beautiful -900 soon!

I have to say, that since I mentioned this in another post here, I have been thinking it over. This is not something I have read in a navigation tutorial, nor does it involved complex geometery to do.I made this up, and I wonder if anyone can give me comments on whether it would work in practice, and if so, under what cirumstances would it fail to work. It's not very good for navigating from Point A to B, but it will tell you where you are (or were) at a fixed point in time, fairly accurately, say, within a sqr mile.http://www.campbell-multimedia.co.uk/temp/dme.gifIf you know you distance from 2 DMEs on the sectional chart, then you can visualise or pencil in a circle aro…

  11. Hi, starting my takeoff roll I have noticed the plane wants to go right, then left and it takes all my concentration to keep it straight on the centre line until rotation. I have installed the latest upgrade, but I will observe closely next time just to see if it happens again. Maybe it was a one time thing and just a matter of reloading FS9. Just wondering if anyone else has noticed this. Also, I use Ken Salter's indespensible FSAutoStart, but I doubt it has anything to do with some program I have closed.Regards,Tom Stewart

Hello, Im a bit confused on those upcoming updates.I bought the PMDG 737-600/700 NG in a retail store and the 800/900 add-on straight from the PMDG site.So I have the complete package of PMDG aircraft.About those updates will they be just for 600/700 & 800/900 virtual cockpit? Lets say in the other way: I always fly from the 2D panels, do I still need those patches or they just for VC flyers? Thanks in advanceFabbi

My trade is computers and during my degree I have studied a thing called HCI, Human Computer Interface.Computers can do things very fast and accurately, humans can't. With humans there is usually a trade off balance between, speed and accuracy, dependant on experience and human performance (tiredness, environment, spirit, energy levels etc) All of these things I am certain aviation authorities are aware of.However, computers need to be commanded in what it is you want them to do. It ends up after analysis that this is the time when a computer is wasted, waiting on a slow human. HCI is the study of the interface point between man and machine.Something that has struct m…

It just occured to me that the big iron in every flght sim I have played doesn't have a standard rate turn indicator.I would assume this means real airliners don't have them, or they are not a primary intsrument for some reason.I then thought that maybe as most turns and courses are flown on autopilot and it knows how to fly a SRT, then its OK.However having watched several (lots) of different sim autpilots negoiate a 180 turn in holding, I'm not sure this is so. Bank angle limits etc. will effect its turn rate.Any pointers on how exactly to maintain a standard rate turn in the big iron?

Hi PMDG TeamI love and spend so much time with this add-on it is causing my family to go "nuts" :-) Thanks for a great effort.I fly the 737-800 in 2D panel mode. Last night I took a short hop in the VC to just compare things. One thing I noticed is that the VC side views appear almost as soon as touched the keyboard. In the 2D panel, the side views take much longer to load and there is a lot of HD activity. Two questions, why are the load times different and have you guys ever thought about using the VC side views with the 2D panel? I noticed that Eaglesoft did this very thing with their Citation X.Thanks Again for a really great plane, and looking forward to the upd…

  22. Hi allcan anyone with a similiar system to mine inform me what sort of performance are you getting with the PMDG aircraft in external and VC view.I am getting horrible stutters which makes this ac virtually unplayable, but when i chose a default plane like the 737 it is all smooth,so it boils down to my CPU / GPU not good enough or the PMDG is too demanding with too much high textures etc.

I can't seem to get the FMC for the 737ng to access the SID/STARS databsae. I copied the file to the SID/STARS folder in the PMDG directory of FS2004. I enter the ICAO code for the departure and destination airports, then I click on DEP/ARR key to set the departure route and nothing is there. Can someone tell me what I'm doing wrong?Alex

Greetings team,This issue was briefly touched recently in one of the posts but I would like to expand on it a bit more. There is a private charter operation called PrivateAir serving transatlantic flights for Lufthansa in their 737-700 and A320 extended range aircraft. One route I am aware of is KEWR-EDDM flown daily non-stop. Since they fly business-class only aircraft their TOW is lower than regular 2-class 737 aircraft, thus allowing for extra fuel for the trip. Now the question for the PMDG model is if it allows for the nonstop flight on this route with full fuel, or would there be a need for the model modification to accomodate extra fuel required for the trip. I guess…

Ever since Richard Harvey said it actually isn't that hard to write a program where you can share a cockpit in Fly!II, that is I sit at my computer flying as FO and a friend at his computer flying as Captain in the same virtual cockpit, I've dreamt about it. Now I read at the avsim front page that gates.to are making this kind of utility for CoF and of course I'm starting to drool thinking of how fun that would be in a PMDG airplane. I realize that it's too late for the 737, but have you given any thought to having both pilot and co-pilot stations in the 747? I realize you can do it in VC but I'd rather have it in 2D too like Flightfactory has it in their Super King Air …
