Does one of the fuel pumps need to be on for APU operation? I believe I remember reading somewhere a long while back that one of fuel pumps from the number one tank should on when using the APU but I can't remember exactly. Thanks to anyone who can provide me with information on this subject.

I know, I know, I read all of the 'spoilers dont deploy' posts.I calibrated my joystick, in windows and via FSUIPC (v3.3).My idle position N1% is 20.3 with the joystick, the same value when I hit F1.I do the approach, instrument or visual (I prefer visual), APP ON, spoilers ARMed (green indication in main panel), ATHR ARMed, autobreak OFF 1 or 2, Vref+10 set.I disengage AP at 500' AGL and proceed visually. At 300' AGL ATHR OFF and control with the joystick.Vat(at threeshold) Vref+5, I retard the throthle to idle (joystick) hit F1 - the engines take time to spool down to idle.I tried 1, 2, 3, 4, 5 times --- the spoiler DONT DEPLOY.I have my PMDG NG up to date. So, what is g…

Hi there:I was having a discussion with a friend at the airport, and we started talking about landings. Anyways, we ended up disagreeing on the following:1. He claims that for maximum braking, a 737NG would use the RTO setting during landing. I happened to disagree, since RTO means Rejected Takeoff ONLY. So, who's right?2. He says for normal flight operations, 737NG's use full flaps (flaps 40). However, I seem to recall that you usually don't use that setting unless it's needed... For the most part you use flaps 30 as landing flap. Again, who's correct on this point?Clarification from a real pilot or someone who knows the plane well is appreciated.Daniel P.http://www.prec…

I just would like to express my gratitude to PMDG for the excellent service they've given over the past week.I reinstalled my pc, and of course backed up all PMDG stuff except for the ....... 1.3 version of the 737NG.It took just 1 mail, which was answered within a couple of hours and I received a new download link.I am sure there are quite a few software manufacturers out there which don't even come close when it comes to 'aftersales'Anyways, thank you again!Henk Biesheuvel

I`ve just bought, downloaded and installed the B1900D plus Service Update 1 and must say that I am very impressed, not only with such a beautiful aircraft but also the fabulous additional liveries.Under the circumstances therefore, it might seem that I am being somewhat "picky" BUT I was disappointed to find that the Gauges and AutoPilot do not expand into larger visuals when clicked upon. The problem with getting older is that ones eyesight just ain`t so good and I personally find any way of increasing the gauge size (albeit only temporarily) is very, very useful.Does any have any knowledge of a "patch" or addon programme that would assist in overcoming this small problem…

Hi Robert,First of all, congratulations for your award winning products. I introduce myself, I'm a Fokker 100 pilot (Air France) and contributor for the french magazine "Microsimulator" dedicated to flight sim. So I'm really proud to check your products in order to inform the Microsim readers, generally hardcore simmers. I'm looking forward flying nextly your "queen of the sky".Today, I just report a minor bug to fix, perhaps in the patch to be released shortly, regarding the autobrake weight off wheel logic. As soon as the bird is airborne, the autobrake rotactor should return to "Off" position. This is not the case and it remains in "RTO" position. I've noticed the bug …

HIFirst of all great product. Now a quick query, im ued to flying Airbus's and this is my first real go in a boeing, my question is if i select a heading and altitude and arm AP then plan responds fine and locates this course, however if i touch the joystick it seems to override the AP and allows the plane to be moved manually even though AP is engaged,Is this normal in the 737 or am i missing something as the Airbus diabled any feed to move the plane when AP is armed?Thankssteve

Hello,I have a problem about my version update. when I check my version, I see that I am using version 1.1 . I obtained this inform. from airconfig file. I tried to install 1.2 to 1.3 installer but received that error msg " Pmdg_737NG_main.gau is not a valid previous version and could not be upgraded " How can I solve this problem ? ThanksOzgur

Maybe I missed it in the docs, but I just upgraded to the 800/900 version of the software and I am unable to arm the spoilers using the traditional "Shift+/" command. Additionally, after I armed the spoilers by clicking on the spoiler lever, they did not deploy upon landing. Any ideas guys??Thanks!!!FlyBoy Phil

Anyone have any recommendations to replace the horrible sound when in flyby view? There are plenty of sound sets available - and basically the PMDG default set seem quite good but the flyby (which is default FS9?) is marginally horrible.Anyone found a good replacement - and if so, which one is it!Cheers

Other than the quickie interim update, I thought that there was supposed to be a big definitive update for the 737NG avail on July 4th. Has this been delayed, or cancelled, or what?* Orest-~~~~~~~~~Orest SkrypuchCYFD - Canada

it would be very nice to be abble to put random failures for each of the already existent categories, but without assigning a time after which the failure occurs.could it be possible to say: random failure in the next 40 hours for example?Philippe

This may sound like an elementary question, but it has been bugging me for a while. I mostly fly the 700, and have always had a great experience.A few times, after planning my IFR flight plan with FS, I have arrived at my destination to find that I have been cleared for a visual approach rather than IFR due to wind. I know this is normal, but what I'm unclear on is the proper procedure to make sure I setup my approach properly. Here's one of my examples:I planned a flight from PHNL (Honolulu) to PHTO (Hilo). The flight level was 16000.Upon contacting appproach, I was cleared for the visual runway 8 (due to wind) (tricky approach due to the sloping elevation). Of course,…

Hi,can you create a repaint for the 737-800/900 of the *new* Lan Chile Livery please? Here some pictures: http://www.airliners.net/open.file/616829/Mhttp://www.airliners.net/open.file/589992/M/Thanks a lot,Fabian

Hello, first of all thanks for your support.I would like to know what procedure you use to generate the flightplan and program the FMC.In short terms You can't plan a flight using sid/star until cleared for ifr flight as you still don't know which runway you're going to use till the last moment.the same will happen during approach: you'll only be able to pick a star only when cleared for a certain runway. As I haven't fully programmed the fmc yet, this is the procedure I would use. Please tell me if I'm doing any mistakes:I would plan a flightplan without including sid/stars into the fmc.wake the aircraft UP and as soon as the ATC tells me the runway in use, modify the FMC …

well i have been doing some experimenting just before and i decided to take the PMDG 737 600 with NO VC for a flight and i noticed that there is a huge differencethis ac is so much smoother than the 900 so it begs the q, is it the VC of the 900 or the 900 plane itself,it looks like i am unfortunately stuck with 2D and flying the 600/700 only.

PMDG,Will the panel bitmap graphics be photorealistic for the upcoming 744 and will the captains position be the default view for the 2D panel?Cheers,Alex Macdonald - BAW014

I mostly use the 2D cockpit. What i would like to see is a zoomed view of the lower DU. The normal view of the lower DU does not match the style of the zoomed cockpit view when using it. Is it possible to enlarge the lower DU so that it looks like the zoomed panel? Just an idea.Gino

Hi,When I flew jump seat last week in a 737-800 from SAS, they informed that the plane had just been updated with the latest MCP and standby instrumentation (the artificial horizon is now a mini-sized PFD).Of course I would like to make the same modification to the current SAS layout but two things are "stuck" - so any assistance is appreciated.1. The menu line in the "Style selector" does not contain any modify... command.2. Is them 800 package updated with the new versions of MCP and Backup instrumentation ?Thanks,Thomas

Hi,Lately I noticed on my last VATSIM online flights that my TCAS shows yellow traffic advisories when on the ground before takeoff even though there are no other a/c around.Anyone else noticed this or knows what the reason might be?
