The NG has a new flap arrangement to the older 100 through 500 series. Was the entire wing re-engineered? Is it more efficient than the older variants, and made with advanced and lighter composites (vs. the older alloy builds)?Obviously the avionics is upgraded, just wondering if the wing was too. Thanks,Bruce.

I was just reading on b737.org.uk that Boeing has changed the MCP on the new NGs to a more 777-style panel: http://www.b737.org.uk/glareshield.htm#737-nghttp://www.airliners.net/open.file/580359/L/Any plans to include this in a future update, perhaps with the BBJ? -Lee Barberhttp://home.nc.rr.com/uniuniunium/dvasig.jpg

Hi there was just thinking if there will be patch to make the PMDG B737-800/ 900 packagage compatible in FS2002 to the loyal fans of yours who bought the B737-600/700 for FS2002? This is because we cannot update the B737-600/700 for FS2002 to the B737-800/900? Will this be something to be addressed in the upcomming patch?Regards,Victor

Hello,Could someone tell me how to reject a take off in the PMDG NG? Unfortunately the NG is not reading my throttle position and when I close it to idle it does no override the auto throttle as it should. Maybe in the future PMDG could read the throttle position from FSUIPC much like the PIC A320 so that the auto throttle can be overridden, as in real life. Also, when you have an engine failure and you select an engine by pressing

Hey guysOk, I know some other people have had these problems too, so i'll post my findings. These stutters are only there in the VC models. The stutters do not effect frame rate, I am often still in up 30FPSThe stuters appear to have a regular beat, ie half seconds(not exact)A long time ago, I remember in the -600 and -700 pmDG were trying to fix the problem on VC, which apparent in a lot of users. I seem to remember pmDG said that this was some sort of memory drain, and I seem to remember they said it would be fixed in the -800??? Anyway, I have realised that the exact same happens in the -800 and -900. I know this because in the 2d panel it's fine. As soon as I go into VC…

Hi All,I flew a flight tonight in the 737-900, which was again a pleasure to fly, and noticed that on final approach after setting both NAV radios to the same frequency and clicking both autopilot buttons, I did not get the dual channel mode light in the PFD.I am sure that I have used this before, so is this a known problem or have I missed something obvious.ThanksKeith

Hi All, Just a quick question: I was doing some approaches into EGLL using the LAM3A arrival. I noticed that the version of the STAR that I had did not have the crossing restriction of FL250 overhead LOGAN (which is indicated by the charts I have), so I put it in manually. Upon reaching the TOD, the autopilot initiated a decend such that LOGAN was crossed at FL250 (give or take a few hundred feet). The next crossing restriction is to cross SABER at FL150. However, the autopilot stopped following the computed decend path and only decended at a few hundred feet per minute after LOGAN causing me to overshoot the restriction at SABER. I then recycled the VNAV and the airplane…

I bought the 737NG 600/700 not that long ago, it cost me close to 30 GBP in Game UK. Almost immediately there is this 800/900 upgrade. Some how I feel cheated by this.On one hand it could be said, it's $25 for a longer body. However I hear reports of new electrical systems that will add them selves to the 600/700 as well, so it's an upgrade as well as the longer body. It still doesn't sound like a well priced upgrade to me.Further, I feel it sounds more like all future updates and upgrades, plus even support is now moving towards the 800/900's yet I dont really feel "that" geeky to spend another 15 to 20 quid on what is effectively a minor upgrade and a longer body.I …

I have went through the complete fuel planning procedure a few times now, and once I managed to predict the winds aloft remotely well, (by flying the same weather and route twice :)) I can get to touch down pretty accurately with the planned landing fuel. However I have a few questions about fuel planning.1. Fuel gives you time in the air, which gives you distance, but... alas there is a catch. Fuel costs in weight. I can't find anywhere in the perf sheets or fuel planning procedures (maybe I didn't look hard enough), that accounts for the weight of the fuel on performance and recursively how that effects the fuel used. To explain by example...If I take off with MINs…

Hi folks. I'm a little confused on the variants of the planes. I had a PMDG developer respond to me a while back. But, I can't seem to find the Email. So, I'll just get straight to the point.:-)What I need, is the 737-700 AND the cockpit variant that shows the "Southwest " style cockpit. Mainly, that on the ND; the map takes up approx. 3/4 of the display, and then the Altimeter and Vert. Speed indicator is displayed on the remaining area. In other words, no PFD's ofr ND's. I seem to recall a screenshot a while back that showed that variant of panel. We don't have the PFD's and ND's at Southwest...we have the other variant; so that is what I would like to use with the 700.…

Hi !As i saw the features of a new announced 737 NG, made by a "kindof famous" Payware group, who's name i actually forgot, :) , i was really surprised about an announced Pushback Truck, fully working with over 900 different airport styles. I mean, the 737NG doesn't let me stunning, but the Trucks is everything i ever dreamed of. Wouldn't it be nice to watch the upcoming BA 747-400, beeing pushed back in a Original Heathrow Truck, starting egnies, talk to groznd...would be a lot more realism....PMDG what do you think? Would it be possible to program?ThanksYours Marcello

Hello all:I've been perusing the forums as well as my FMC manual that came with the 737NG 600/700 and the one for the 800/900 I downloaded. What I'm having issues with is the fact that my FMC always will kick of VNAV awith statements of "Check MCP altitude" or "Reset MCP altitude" AFTER I get up to cruise altitude. The airplane will reach cruise altitude and settle in at the preset altitude in the FMC and whatt is set in the MCP, as well as the speeds in the FMC on the cruise page. Now I don't change the MCP altitude, nor the levels in the "Legs" page, or the cruise altitude set on the cruise page, but sure enough it has always kicked off of VNAV soon after reaching cr…

Anyone here flown in TRI Fly2k?Stalls. When I started in sim land stalls were when the aircraft pitched down when it hit stall speed and lost height because of it's downward angle. Simple in those days, attitude meant nothing.I took a leap to fly and instantly was awed at what stalling was (reparted by the manuals) meant to be like. You slow up and more and more back stick and up pitch is required to hold level flight, then, quite suddenly one or other wing will stall first and instantly loose almost all lift, dropping the wing and .. if not carefully corrected result in a spin. If you are in a Cessna, this is a routine training trip, if you are in a 747 at 39,000ft i…

I was practicing engine failures during takeoff today and I had some trouble. Hope you can help me.I lined up with runway 09 at KSAN and activated TOGA. At V1, I cut-off my left engine, use rudder to maintain myself lined up and start rotating at Vr. And then the problems begin: After I get airbone, TOGA is de-activated, and, even if I move my throtlle to 100%, my pitch has to be too shallow that I end up crashing in the hill in front of the runway. What am I doing wrong? :(Thanks,

OK I have multiple values for maximum take off weights. In the Limitations PDF that comes with the CD, I have the MTOW of .. em.. from memory 133,000lbs for the 737-700.If I use this weight if it is lower than the max runway weight, then all works OK, rejected take offs etc. However in the Max weight for runway length there is the figures in excess of 150,000lb and I just downloaded the Fuel planner and it shows the MTOW at 150,000 something. If I use the numbers for the max weight for runway length from the tables in the Takeoff performance sheet, then the plane will barely get off the runway, and will NOT stop on a V1 abort, nor will it get off the runway with an engine ou…
