Hello, all.I'm impressed with the capabilities of the new aircraft, both from the FMC and the flight "feel" in general. Unfortunately, I'm lost as how to use the FMC. I downloaded the tutorial (sorry, but I forgot who the author is) and read through the example given a situation from KDEN to KLAX. I'm still a bit confused. Is it possible for anyone to walk me through more carefully what I need to do to fly from say, KSFO to KMIA? I understand much of the information given in the tutorial (picking the dep/arv airports, choosing the runway, alt, fuel, etc..) but I guess I don't get the part about the computer actually flying the plane. When do I switch over to autopil…

Don't think I've seen this anywhere before. Last night I was doing some practive out of KSLC with the lovely weather they always have there (31017G32 was the winds if I remember). Anyway, it was a nice x-wind takeoff. When I initially got airborne a gust threw me back down on the tarmack. I got airborne again but had a bank angle that caused my right gear to be on the ground a second or so longer than the left. Once in the air the right gear refused to come up. Since I was just doing a visual pattern basically I just left all 3 down for the duration.

Hi Guys! New to the forum. I've been flying the PMDG 737 since the -600/700 release, and first, hats of to the guys who've developed it. I've noticed a few messages that happen on some of my flights, when conditions require me to change certain things inflight. messages like:1. Overspeed Disconnect2. Descent Path unavailableAlso, How do I get the aircraft to overfly a waypoint in a turn and not abbreviate the turn? In short, how do I get it to overfly the waypoint before starting the turn? And hehe.. This for the lazy people.. Don't NG's have autotune? Will appreciate any inputs from you guys.thanks!Mike

So hello everyone in PMDG world,I have a question for you all. Tonight i was doing a flight from KSEA-KORD on the 737-700. I had everything perfect, LNAV and VNAV set the entire flight. The autopilot was flying the plane and i was about 150 nm out from KORD when the engines failed. I don't have random failures on in fs. The warning flashed "fuel", and all of a sudden the engines turned off. Then i glided down to KORD and all the systems turned off, and i wasn't educated enough how to turn them back on because i was panicking about making it to ORD. So i tried to lower the gear and didn't work so i crashed pretty much. My questions is is that my fault, like i didn't follow…

as a newcomer to flight sim and the 737, can you please help me out. when planning a flight i assume the fuel requirement is calculated for me and shown on the nav log? am i correct? then when i enter the amount into the FMC, i get the "insufficient fuel" prompt. ive even over compensated and still get the message until the FMC likes the final and random amount i have inputted. neil c

I have just rewritten the GG on the basis of a lot of constructive and positive feedback which is much appreciated. Thank You All.I have also added a set of Checklists for your use.Get Ver5+Checklists at :http://homepage.powerup.com.au/~speedy/Hope this helps you enjoy your simming experience all the more and I thoroughly recommend flying online with VATSIM as well as it adds a lot to the 'Immersion Factor' or realism of your flying.Rgds,

After hitting "S" to move from the Flight Deck to an outside view of the aircraft the normal noise vanishes and is replaced with a horrible crackling sound. Continuing to hit "S" gets me back onto the Flight Deck but the crackling continues.Please........what's the solution?Cliff

My route: GCTS - LPM (VOR) - BV167/15 (NDB) - BV167/8 - GCLA, CRZ ALT 10000.BV is the NDB needed for the approach to GCLA. I inserted the two BV-waypoints (one 15NM, one 8NM on "radial" 167) for speed management: I restrict speed at the first to 200 and at the second to 160 by defining speed constraints. The aircraft correctly flies LNAV and VNAV up to the 10000 ft.Then I intend to go up to 15000: I set the ALT on the MCP to the new cruise level, cahnge the CRZ ALT on the FMC and use LVL CHG. During the LVL CHG, I switch back to VNAV (don't know if that's correct, it was more a test to see what happens), and the FMS correctly catches the new CRZ ALT, all systems nominal.De…

Hi,As a Aerowinx PS1.3 user I am very interested in PMDG's new 744.Is there any communication left with Aerosoft Australia regarding interfacing with their MCP/EFIS/EICAS combo? (I know they stopped production of the MCP, -maybe the new PMDG 744 can change that) ?Best regardsFlygenring DenmarkPS: It is good to see Qavion on the Beta team :-)

I'm using the pmdg now for about 4 days, and today I tried to do the fuelplanning by myself instead of using the fuel planner. I looked in the manual how to do this, but I can't find how much fuel I have to put in which tank. I only know the minimum for the center tank is 1000 lbs. So, what are the rules?

Hello Captains, I am an amatuer painter and i am trying to put my skills to work. I am still learning and I have just almost completed my first real airline paint scheme: Southwest Airlines Silver One. I need to figure out how to change the reg on the nose gear doors and then i am all set. Remember I am an amatuer so make the criticism easy. Hehe. Let me know if anyone enjoys the look. I couldn't QUITE find the right silver. lol. I have attached the pictures. Scott P.S. Feedback is welcomed. :-wave

I just bought a new computer and the Landing and Taxi Lights at night or dusk seem to have a blend or shades when projected on the ground, I have attached a pic to view this problem, I have the current software for everything such as Direct X and video card driver, All other aircraft appear normal. The old computer had no problems with this issue. Doesnt appear to be the Panel cfg , may something I can ajust in Aircraft cfg or display settings ? I installed it like I did on the other computer just cant figure whats going on, here is the specs on my new rig, Thanks for your time and help. Hi !I don't now if somebody else has seen it, but yesterday i saw a docomentation about the 747-400 on Discovery Channel. They talked about technical Specs of the 747-400 and asked Guys from Northwest Airlines about their experiences. One technic guy from Northwest explained the specific wing performance on the 747-400, like the winglets. To mind back to my tread about Flexing wings ( some said it isn't necessary) the guy explained that the wings are some feet below to the level of the windows on ground and the even flex up to some feet over the window level when in the air. It also has to do somethign with the amount of Fuel in the Wing Tanks. So i still think Flexing Win…

Hi Robert,First of all, congratulations for your award winning products. I introduce myself, I'm a Fokker 100 pilot (Air France) and contributor for the french magazine "Microsimulator" dedicated to flight sim. So I'm really proud to check your products in order to inform the Microsim readers, generally hardcore simmers. I'm looking forward flying nextly your "queen of the sky".Today, I just report a minor bug to fix, perhaps in the patch to be released shortly, regarding the autobrake weight off wheel logic. As soon as the bird is airborne, the autobrake rotactor should return to "Off" position. This is not the case and it remains in "RTO" position. I've noticed the bug …

I wish that in the future of PMDG they could incorporate two things:1. Executible downloads of all fixes and new A/C.2. A PMDG recommended 'Download Accelerator' for those of us who have 56k modems. Not too much to ask..Regards,JackKGSP

Hello. Is there anybody out there who can tell me how to enable backcourse hold when I get an ILS pattern. I have tried the app-mode, but the aircraft seems to turn away from the airfield.

I am a veteran PSS pilot but a newbie to PMDG's excellent and challenging 737NG, and a couple of things are bothering the heck out of me: First of all I have programed the Stairs into the MSFS Assignments menu as instructed, but nothing makes those stairs budge. So far I have only been using the default aircraft...where do I find the "User Interface" to see if they have this capability. Then there is the issue of the Virtual Cabin. The only thing I can find on this in past posts is that I need some kind of an add on in the way of a comera to visit the cabin. Surely there must be a better way than that! Vernon Brown

Greetings PMDG,I have been considering acquiring the 737NG for quite some time now and was wondering if a joystick or other flight control (pedals, etc.) was required to use/fly the 737NG since I do not own such devices. In other words, is it possible to fly the 737NG with only a keyboard and a mouse (yes, I know, it's unrealistic)? It is possible that this question has already been answered; I did search PMDG's website and forums, but with members listing their system requirements (often including joysticks) as a signature, the search would result in pratically every thread that was written here.Thank you in advance,Nicolas in CYOW
