Trying to reinstall FSX onto a new SSD and I get the disc error can't read UDF file...#####? Brand new custom built system. Any ideas? Thanks, Mark

Just read last night that MicroShaft just announced that they have stopped shipping retail packaged versions of Win 7 as of the end of October 2013, so what's in the retail channels now is all there is. The OEM versions will continue to be sold UFN...but those versions are permanently tied to the hardware they are first installed on, and multiple reinstalls/transfers to new machines may not be possible. Given the major butt pain Win 8 users are having with FSX and P3D on Win 8/8.1, I ordered another copy of Win 7 from Newegg when I read the article... Regards

Hi all, I'm trying to get Real ATIS going on a Window 7 64b system. Has anyone manage to do this. Can it be done on 64 system?

For some reason my FSX will not for the life of it add anything to the scenery library. When i'm in the scenery library, I click the item I want to add, and it just opens the folder, and doesn't add it. Yes, the scenery has both the "scenery" and "texture" folders. But it still does it.I just bought Aerosoft las vegas X, and it won't add it! And I really don't want to add it in the world scenery and texture...

Hi and appologies if my question has fallen on the wrong forum. I have an old Windows XP which I can use my FS2004 and IFLY B737NG on satisfactorily, however the IFLY B737NG will not work on my Windows 7 64bit I have the FS9.1 update, have disabled my security features turned the UAC stored my files outside of x86 and everything else I can think of, so if possible i'd like to find out if I can somehow transfer my FS2004 and attached IFY B737NG from my Wind XP to my Wind 7 I wonder if anyone can help me Many Thanks Richard (Nagoya)

Is there a file to copy fs keyboard and button assignments to new install?I tried FSX\controls\standard.xml and did not seem to work.I also have FSUIPC and copied ini file and that did not work.However,I did neglected to delete assignments in FS that may be duplicated in FSUIPC.Thanks for any help.Ron

Hi, Has anyone had issues with the windows system clock going all bonkers in this operating system. I have a brand new PC built for FSX use only and the system clock is "bent". Yes, the time zone is correct, all Date/Time settings is correct. On the hour the clock resets back 60 minutes (this is with and without internet time updates selected) Any ideas? Don Dormehl

Hi guys, I've been having a little problem lately. Sometimes, I hear a random and very short pop in the sound. I've had this in FSX but also in iRacing. In iRacing I sometimes hear it when I run over the grass. In FSX it seems to happen at random times but every now and then he sound just completely skips for two seconds (it just goes quiet) while FSX continues running normally. I presume it occurs with particular sound files at the moment they load and start playing. But again, it doesn't happen all the time it's just a very short pop I hear every few minutes. But it's of course getting real annoying when the sound just stops playing for a few seconds. I've …

I already have a Disk Image of my Windows 7, but I'm wondering if I can just backup the actual FSX directory (50GB or so) and delete it, to free up some space (Got a little tired of FSX, going to have some fun with DCS - WarThunder) (Don't worry I will be back) But I've read a lot of topics on this sort of thing, and I as long as I don't try to put my FSX directory into another HD it should be ok... Like if I just drag it right back on to the same HD it's on right now everything should work right with the registries right? Or how is this going to work? I have not bought a boxed computer in years and do not know if a laptop with win7 will run FSX. I currently have a Q8400 intel with a ati 4650 video card and 2 gb of ram on a 10 year old ADI 19" monitor. Except for all of the fan noise from my 10 year old computer box 6 fans, FSX seems to work ok locked at 30 FPS. I am running XP os.. From what I have read in the forums, win 8 is not a good way to go at this time with FSX and staying with win 7 is much better. Can I get the same or better performance from a laptop computer and then plug in a larger (24 plus inch) monitor) when running FSX? Terry

Hi i have this problem..see screenshot. I had Vista 32 with Geforce GS9500. Now i changed machine and i run win7-64 with Ati radeon 9550 but issue remains. it seems a problem with fog or haze. I had REX textures, i tried AS2012 and issue disappeared for about 8-10 flights but now the problem is still there. I really don't know how to solve it Thanks for help

Not really sure where to put this but will try here I've been playing around with my anti virus software ( I usually turn it off when loading programs I trust ) however on doing this today my Av would not restart now I got it back by doing a system restore from this morning so nothing lost thankfully . On checking my AV supplier, virginmedia it would seem that they are now wanting to charge for the av they supply in the future,by changing their av supplier from trend micro to F secure.They offer the first year for free from F secure. I'm having problems getting FS98 to run on a new Windows 7 (64 bit) system. It installed without any major problems and when I tried to run it after installing it on the new system, it seemed to start up without any problems (the default Meigs flight screen appeared just as it should. When I switched to one of my saved flights though, the scenery outside the cockpit went black. Using the S key to switch to external views only produced totally black screens. Switching back to the Meigs default flight didn't fix the problem. I tried using the compatibility mode to run it under both Windows XP and Windows 98 modes. I've been having an odd problem lately, when starting up FSX is brings you to the main screen to select everything you want for the flight. This screen seems very prone to errors. The main problems I have are CTDs when trying to select weather, and very long loading times when I click on an airport waiting for the runway options to load. Whats odd is that once I'm in-game I never have problems loading any of this stuff. Anyone else have issues along these lines? I had this start happening on my old PC with FS9 after I had it for a long time as well...

Hi, everybody! Help to solve a problem please: I established Win8 x64, I Established FSX - graphics beautiful, there are no friezes! BUT! There is no sound of toggle-switches, jolting at running start and several more trifles. Gives out an error of DirectX. The latest updates from MS introduced a new option in the disk cleanup dialogue. It enables you do get lost of the unnecessary files from previous updates and only was available via some extra tools before. Now this wasn't really newsworthy but I could get rid of over 6gb on my small laptop SSD which is quite the gain. See this example shot of where the option is. That's after cleaning of course, so perhaps check how much free HDD/SSD space is available for you. Note. It might need a reboot to really show up as new free space. That reboot will also feature the 'don't turn your PC off' screen for a second, so I guess it's really cleaning up. After cleaning, yo…

Despite uninstalling/re-installing several times, I'm having major issues with it in that I could be just reading though the posts here, and all of a sudden it jut freezes-up. Everything is locked. Only a re-boot brings me back, Even then, I could go and have a BBQ by the time it loads a page. I have had to revert to version 11 just to get this post made. Having just completely re-formatetdmad re-installed the OS, I keep getting this CTD with a BCCode 124 error. Anyone any idea what is causing this. Previoulsy I had it flaggging up every time Firefox 21 went belly-up within minutes of surfing. Reverted to version 18.01, and this happens again. When I switch to IE, no CTDs. Help? Thanks

This is driving me nuts for a few months now and I cant put my finger on it, so thought I would throw it out there to if anyone knows info about this issue. As per the pics, when FSX is running (windowed) which I need in order to switch to programs like PFPX etc, all my dropdowns are always so corrupted. Cant make anything out and they dont function in order to choose something. The examples were of PFPX but are not limited to it. It happens in any windowed program and with dropdown menus. When FSX is shut down, they all function normally. Logic states that something in FSX is causing this, but a brand new install of it shouldve gotten rid of it. Something im overlooking…
