Hi, I'm having trouble deciding between getting a reciever and a set of speakers or getting computer speakers that are 5.1. Does anyone have any suggestions for which route I should go. I'd like to keep the price around 500 or a little more. Also, any suggestions on good 5.1 computer speakers?

Hi all Question on Win7 if i may. My computer came with Win7 64bit preinstalled when i bought it a while back. If and when i upgrade to a newer computer should i buy a boxed version now (whilst its still available) so i can continue to use Win7 64bit as i don't think i want to use Win8. Just in case i can't get retailer to install Win7 as all new computers seem to come with Win8? I like using Win7 and it might be handy to have a back up for existing computer as well if i don't use it in the future. Will Microsoft shut the lid on it anytime soon which i doubt as XP is still going? What do you Guy's think?

I just wondered if my system would run fsx, with medium to high settings, with the Quality Wings 757. Is this the Most Frame rate Friendly aircraft or is there another? Good day Can any One tell me is it possible to connect to Computers ( Both have O7 ) on them using a USB cable ?? I have the USB cable and i did connect them but nothing happened , if any one can give some guide lines please I am running to many Apps with FSX so i decided to run some of them on my Old Laptop thank you

A salient lesson here for anyone interested. Had .NET Frameowork 4.5 installed and running quite happily. Went to install a Stardock Fences freeware program, which would not install as it repeatedly kept asking for a v2.0 .NET Framework when I already had v 4.5. DId not make sense. In the end, I had to purchase the application before it would install correctly. I do wonder sometimes do program developers deliberately sneak in bugs to freeware programs to force freeware users to buy a full version? H'mm. However that was not the end of it. Soo, I been tweaking and reading diffrent things online, for month`s. But nothing really seems to work. Im at Heathrow in my CS 767-300, and im getting 24-29FPS in VC. Is this were i should be? Fsx is on medium/high setting, and no traffic. -JT

My well used Fujitsu Siemens computer quit. I bought a Dell VOSTRO 220. The guy put in a Nvidia GeForce 7600GS for somehiht I could afford. I'd like to know my DX Preview box is not to be found???? Is this card Dx 10 compatible. I have win7 32 The box doesn't show under Graphics\Settings...? On my system tab from CP I can see it has Dx11 which belongs with this OS... I am looking to cut down on the number of processes that are running, and hoping someone could assist on 1) how to work it and 2) what's safe to turn off. WTM shows me running 42 processes at the moment, but I do have this IE page open. I've got Vista Home 64bit. I considering upgrading to Windows 7 Pro 64bit. Has anyone done this, and is there any improvement of FSX's performance?

I'm not really sure if this is the right forum to post this, but this summer, we are going to travel, and i can really lug like a 10 pound laptop around to play FSX (yup, I use a laptop to play on it.). And since I can't do that, I was thinking of compressing the main FSX directory (which is about 24 GB in size) with WinZip to put into my 16 GB JumpDrive. Now my question is, if I compress FSX into a .zipx file, and then uncompress the folder on another computer where I will be staying at, will it impact the files whatsoever? My guess is no, but I just want to make sure. And if I can, which method of compression is the best apart from 'Best Method'? Any comments are a…

Hello folks I sure hope you can help me , I have been dealing with this network problem for a month now. I have four computers networked together , all in the same workgroup. As far as I know all drives have been shared and secured. To prove this I can go from one computer too the next which I could do, I could go from 1 com and get files and send them to another no problems. But it wont stay that way , now all of a sudden I cannot get into this one computer files ,it says I need a username and password. Don’t know why I never gave it one . Hi folks, I have a strange issue. I usually have two monitors attached to my computer via ATI Radeon HD 6870 graphic card and eventually (when I fly), I connect a CDU hardaware via motherboard VGA port, which resumed in three monitors. The strange thing is in Win 7 Screen Resolution menu I see 4 monitors. If I click "Identify" button, then I see 1, 2 on main displays and 4 on the CDU display. So, where is #3?? I need to solve this since I'm having problems when I try to position the NGX CDU window (once FSX loaded) into my CDU monitor (from www.flightdecksolutions.com). Please. check the picture below. Hello all Don'y know if this is a problem or not, and it's hard to explain. I run W7 64 and all in all everything is fine, no BSODs no crashes of the system. However I have noticed one thing, for example if I leave the cockpit screen and maybe change to an external view or look at the briefing board during a flight, windows 7 appears to keep the outline of the windows which I have viewed in the backgound, nothing in them, no graphics etc just external lines of the viewed windows. It seems to store up all previously viewed window outlines. It doesn't affect the sim in anyway, I just wondered if this was a W7 thing.... as it never happened on XP, and does i…

Hi I really need some help with this problem. I am in the middle of a fresh install of FS9 onto my new Win7 64-bit computer and everything has been going very well until now. I have followed all of the advice in these forums and have had the User Account Control switched off (slider to the very bottom) continuously since I started installing various addons about 3 weeks ago and my FS9 is not on C:\Program files ..... but I am installing it on a separate drive (D:\FS Games\FS9) as all the threads have advised. I have just installed two USB headsets into my simulator. I bought a mixer that combines the audio feeds from the two USB devices attached to the headsets and outputs them to each of my headset's headphone feed. It works great and each headset can even talk to other one! But, my issue with Windows came when the volume was way too low. I assume that the mixer splits the audio strength because the mixer is not an amplifier. Is there a way to increase the gain of each USB headset in Windows or should I buy an amplifier? I have already gone into enhancements of the headset's sound settings and checked "Loudness Equalization." That helped but it is still too low? An…

Just encountered a strange problem with my computer today, I will try and describe the problem as best as i can. Ok Here goes A.) The Problem- when i turn on my computer Windows attempts to boot Normally right after the Starting Windows Splash Screen i get a black screen with a cursor in place of the Welcome Screen (Stays there does not go any further) (No Welcome Screen) B.) Ok, so here is what I'm trying to do: Recently, I've added a second USB headset to my Flight Sim. I am using two Logitech G330's. But, the first headset is the one I use to talk and listen to ATC. The second is for people who come to fly with me side by side so that they can hear what I am hearing. I am using a splitter to split the headphone line on my headset into two feeds, one plugs into the first headset, one feed into the second headset. That works great. So both of my headsets have a mic and headphone cord that plug into a box that is a USB to the computer. So, I focused on the second headset. Please help. I run Win 7 64 on my laptop. Have FSX deluxe installed from the DVD and registered. Downloaded and installed SP1 just fine. Now, downloaded SP2 and when trying to instal it I get an installer error. I have attached a pic of the error. Can anyone help me? Some add-ons wn't work without SP2. Thank you.

Just built a new PC for FSX. It's an i7-3770k OC to 4.5ghz with 16GB Ram. I have Win 7 Ultimate 64 bit installed on the SSD which is the main C: Drive. and a 2TB HDD for my storage drive where I install all my games onto. I followed a tutorial online for SSD optimization and I believe I have no pagefile set. For my kind of setup would it be better to ahve some sort of page file defined and if so what size? I am noticing i have random OOM errors while playing FSX at times and I think its because I have no page file set. Please help.

Hi, I was able to right click on a wav file in XP and choose Sound recorder or recorder I think and adjust the volume level on a particular wav file. Can this be done with Win 7? I can seem to find sound recorder and the only recorder win 7 has does not allow to increase or decrease the volume on wav files.

I am installing FSX on a new 3770k with Windows 7 64 bit. Do I need to right click on the setup file and install fsx using XP compatibility mode or does it install fine in win7 mode? I appreciate any recomendatons on this, Ted

Hi, Looking for a bit of advice on how to go about this please? My system is a lot slower than it was last year mainly becaused i've installed so much non-fsim stuff on the system. I want to get it back to just fsx and scnery and plane add ons and I also use my system as a source for sampled Piano sounds for my piano. The system was installed and overclocked by wired2fire. What do i do? i've looked for a guide that tells you how to rebuild your system from scratch but cant find one...can any one point me in the right direction please?
