Morning all, I have spent the most of the last 2 days loading AI traffic files onto my new PC for FSX SP2. I have read and followed various threads on avsim and AIG for FSX tweaking, i have also used the Nvidia Inspector and set that up i believe as recommended for FSX. I cannot fault the water textures...mind blowing! But i feel like building textures and ground textures seem abit jagged and blurred in places...not quite as SHARP as i was expecting...can anyone hint at what things i can do to solve this matter...ive done so much reading on this and tried various things, performance is still excellent even with all sliders at max and traffic too. On boot up the machine displays in excess of 2000 fragments even though it was Defragged at closedown. If this is ignored and the machine rebooted the fragments increase to in excess of 4000. (Using Diskeeper) Not aware of any processes running in the background. A Laptop running the same OS does not display this oddity. Would be glad to hear from anyone with ideas and or suggestions as to what may be going on in the background. Thanks.

Hi guys, just a quick question. A while ago I managed to mess all my customizable options up, with various menu colors and such going blank white. Now its come to the point where I can't guess where my mouse is, but I don't know how to reset all my personalizations to default,as I can't find any button to do so. Can anyone help me out?

Howdy folks, As the title suggests, over the next couple of days im going to buy an ssd, and a new operating system, and was wondering what is the easiest/best/ to get? i am currently on xp32. Im looking for ease of use, the least problems getting any fs products to work, utx, active sky etc etc, and also the easiest to confiure, also how much space (roughly) does the operating system take so i can work out whether to get a 64gb or 128Gb Just out of curiousity, it isnt really related, but when i push my / (forward slash) i get the / "undo,copy,select,paste" box appearing in my top left corner and cant type until i remove it, any ideas? Hi all Can someone tell me whats is going on here. pls I have a new build after replacing a 2600k. Now I have: 2700k OC 5.0 2 X GTX680 W7 64 bit UT UT2 NGX MD11 ORBX FSDT All was well until I installed all the FSDT airport scenery and now FSX hangs on startup due to the bglmanx Dynamic Link Library. I'm sorta use to this as the 2600K would do it too, but after 3 or 4 start attempts FSX would start fine. Now with the 2700K after about 10 - 20 attempts it might start mostly not.. so I turn it off and go to bed Over at the FSDT forum they say make sure the 2005 runtime files are installed and thats about it. I did find a fix... BUT not a go…

Recently purchased this add on (Wilco 777) and installed to FS9 and X. All workrd well until I installed additional liveries. Problem developed is no gauges in either. Uninstalled/Reinstalled without the extra liveries and have the same problem. No gauges. Anybody out there experienced with this that can recommend a fix?

I recently upgraded from an ATI 4870x2 to a GTX 660 Ti, partially because my old card was starting to die (couldn't hold the factory overclock), and partially because I was hoping for some kind of improvement in FSX fps. There was a good improvement, 2-3 times more fps under certain circumstances with a massive increase in image quality due to the fact that FSX never caps the GPU so AA / AF don't hurt fps anymore, but I'm still CPU bound and capped in the most complex areas at around 13-15 fps, which, even though its much better than the 5-9 I was getting before (heavy, complex aircraft in an extremely complex addon scenery with heavy duty clouds... Hey guys! I just got enough money to buy myself a new motherboard (P67). I currently have a H67 (which doesnt support OC.). I have intel i7 2600K at 3.4ghz, AMD Radeon 6870, and 4BG ram. Right now if i use the pmdg 737 at paris charles de gaulle airport along with paris VFR scenery i will get 19-25 FPS and with and other plane around 25-30. So im thinking if i buy my new motherboard i will be able to overclock to 4.2 or 4.3ghz. Will this really improve my FPS? Because i plan on getting the pmdg 777 and that is going to be a HUGE FPS hog. I just dont want to waste my money on something that wont work. Sorry for the Vista question but there isn't a dedicated Vista forum. I have an older laptop running Vista that I want to try an load Active sky on. My wife has been using it for a couple years so it is a mess but I'd like to give it a shot before I wipe the OS and load Windows 7. A few questions 1. Can anyone recommend a good Vista tuning guide? I cannot find the link to Nick's old guide. The links inside his FSX tuning guide are broken. 2. I understand I cannot use Simconnect with an XP and a W7 rig. Are there any issues using a Vista rig and a W7 rig?

Hi, A rather disturbing event happend when i opend my internet browser (IE8) today. I'm running W7/64 and use Norton 360PE virusscanner and firewall for years, very happy with it, never any virus problems so far ( knock on wood) Maybe until now... Really not sure what happend but it did look very much like a virus to me. All of a sudden I could not open IE8 anymore. Each time i clicked the IE icon the start page would be displayed for a split second and then a Norton Warning message would pop up saying that 'xxxxx.tmp' was blocked to be displayed because it was harmfull.... This would happen each time i clicked the IE icon with 'xxxx.tmp' change into another …

Okay this question i have to ask is based on FSX installation Disc . I am new to window 7 also an i have few other question about this OS. So i have here my 2006 Flight Simulator X Disc i notice in the back of the Disc Case it clearly said Windows XP or Vista. So my question is do i need to buy another Flight Simulator X Disc or can this one also work even dow it does not say WINDOW 7 in the back an i kindly understand why it doesn't say window 7 , its because window 7 wasn't out at that time of FSX release? So i just want to make sure i get right .

I was using my compuetr gingerly yesterday when upon closing a call it all went haywire? It began to restart (?)...But as soon as it got the logo the screen went Black and nothing happened...At tmes I left it there for several hours, but actually nothing happened. I ten decided to switch it off via the switch at th front of the computer and restart that way severla times, Same result!???? Having migrated from Windows XP 32-bit to Windows 7 64-bit, I am noticing that there are many older dated files in the boot drive that seem be left over from the previous version of Windows XP. I performed the migration using instructions posted on the various forums, and did not do a clean reformat install of Win7. The result is a lot of locked files that I cannot gain access to (yes, I am in admin mode with UAC turned off), and other files referencing WinXP. Is there a utility out there to clean up the boot drive without resorting to a reformat of the drive and a clean re-install of Win7? Thaks Dom

All os a sudden soe of Folders have showed with a little Yellow lock at the bottom Right, and are not accesible; I don't know how this happened, as I haven't changed any security settings on my system. Other folder a have a little Blue Curved arrow and are also unaccesible? Last week I re-installed windows 7 and along with the hardware back to default everthing is ok.But my SATA ACHI Controller will not take a driver.I downloaded it,(the web can't find it or windows can't so I show it the driver .My computor went black shutdown,restarted the blue screen come up.Then it booted up and all all it is running really good.Thought you could help......thanks Scott

Thought I had already posted this question but can't find. Apologies if I have. I currently run FSX under Vista and all of my addons ( 4100 Jetstream, 747-400X, MD-11X etc ) are prior to Windows 7 release. Thinking of changing my computer which will be Windows 7 so will I be able to load all of these addons on to the new one without problems. I assume FSX will load OK. Am I correct? Hope someone out there can help.

Hi Guys, Something I have been struggling with is how to get to my HDD on windows. I recently got a custom built machine from overclockers and it came with windows 7 installed on the 256 GB SSD, it also came with a 1TB HDD, although I can see the HDD drive through the device manager and it says its ready for use, however I want to be able to install programs on it and actually use it ie store things on it and have easy access to it as my SSD is rapidly running out of space! Is there a way to get it to show up as a D drive or something that I can see under my computer? Many thanks, Anthony

Hi guys, This is really starting to annoy me now . Around half a year ago I had this virus for the first time called "Exploit:Java Blacole.XX". Few months later it came back, deleted it again. Just done a virus scan and again a similar Exploit:Java virus. I don't get it, as I have deleted all Java software a long time ago. I searched on the net a bit, but couldn't really understand in what way this virus could harm my pc. Softwarewise, or hardwarewise, or both? Maybe it's used to spy my passwords for example my Paypal account, cuz in that case I'm in trouble. I'm using MSE as a virusscanner btw. Any help please? Hello, I have a weird situation in FS2004 with WIN7 Home64bit PC.Motherbord P8Z68V-PRO GEN 3 I5-2500 K .Nvidia GTX560 and GT440,( driver 301.42 ) 2x4gb AMD 1600DDR Memory. When i start FS2004 with Monitors on 1 card everything is fine, a beauty. From the moment i plug in a Monitor on the 2nd card, i can't change Views with W or S on the keybord.( Panel on/off or Cycle View.) Any advise ? Need serious HELP . Hugo

Ive installed FSX on a seperate drive (128GB SSD) called the F drive. Opposed to the normal C drive in hopes of making the sim run faster. However, i cant find the cfg. I know under normal circumstances, it would be under appdata, etc. However, when i installed FSX on the F drive, there was nothing currently on that drive, not one folder. I created a folder called Microsoft Flight Simulator X and thats what the game was installed into. Where would i go about finding the .cfg? Would i have to add a new one? The game runs fine, so im sure there has to be one somewhere on that drive. Thanks- Matt

Hi friends: I decided (I now regret it) to make the move over to FSX a few months ago. I gave up after a week. In the process of making the move, I went ahead an upgraded to DX11. Before I made that upgrade I had consistently achieved 40-60 fps in all A/C, scenery combinations. Now, no matter what I try, I have roughly half the frames. Is there any way to revert back to DX9?
