Hello, What is the best OS for FSX??????I currently have Windows XP HE SP3 32bit and it runs great, frames slider to unlimited, 45-55fps with no stutters, but when I tried Windows 7 HP 32bit, The frames are around 60fps but often dip to 30, hence; STUTTERING!!! I would much rather prefer Windows 7 because it is the newest, but these stutters are really annoying. I CANT lock frame rates because in complex aircraft like PMDG MD-11 they will go down to 8fps, but when i set it to unlimited it hangs around 50 with occasional dips to 30. How can i fix this?? I already tried disabling Aero Theme, and setting Windows for maximal performance, but that doesnt help....... Will insta…

Decided to reinstall FSX and everything associated with it on my 64 bit Windows 7 machine, but obviously did something wrong when removing FSX, because I get the "Error Ox80040702 Failed to load: GameuxInstallhelper" failure message. I found and followed the Microsoft help page at http://support.micro...kb/968365/en-us, but it does not specify exactly which registry keys to remove, I have removed those at HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE|Wow6432Node\Microsoft\microsoft games and HKEY_USERS\S-1-5-21-1455015182-1347811041-367054334-1001\Software\Microsoft\Microsoft Games but still get the error message. When ever I move the hat switch the sound changes both in the NGX and the MD11. It sounds best when I am looking at the NAV/RADIO stack. When I release the parking brake the sound is somewhat muffled. If I move the hat switch to the left the sound increases in my left ear. Is this an FSX issue? ThanksDon

HiI migrated to win7 64Bit OS and i have a problem with eyepoint settings each time i change something in the controls settings. I had a problem first both in FS9 and FSX under WIN7 64bit OS by that the entries values for the EYEPOINT were negative values.I wrote about it in "Hardware Controllers & Drivers" forumhttp://forum.avsim.net/topic/347944-pressing-and-holding-joystick-buttons-doesnt-create-continious-response/ So now each times i change something in the Controls settings the entries for EYEPOINT are being deleted in FSX so i have to open the Standart.xml file and fix those entries manully.And it is quite frustrating. The preview desktop working has stopped working for me. I can still click it and minimize all programs, but I don't have the transparent preview option. I now trying to reinstall my graphics drivers but windows keeps on interfering by installing drivers of it's own. Any suggestions?

How can that be? I keep running (on occasions) into an OOM while running WIN7 RTM x64 with 4GB. Everytime this happens taskmanager shows me a RAM usage of 1,96GB.So...it's the 2GB limit again. In XP there was a trick in the boot.ini to up the /userva, but in WIN7?Do I need to add the IncreaseUserVa in the BCD? Or do I need to add the /LargeAddressAware behind the fs9.exe command?

Hi, Last week I decided to try on the Directx 10 preview option and when I start FSX everything works well until I hit fly now, my screens start’s flickering (black screen flickering from one screen to another) and I never get to have the first normal screen. During the flickering period, if I hit ESC key I get the end of flight menu and I am able to go back to the setup free flight screen. I have 4 screens connected to 2 video cards (GTX 480 and GTX 8800). I know they both support Directx 10 and I am running W7 64 bit ultimate. I am also using a Triplehead2go (analog) matrox box. If I put the preview option off, everything works find. Anyone add that problem befor…

I'm putting this topic because I noticed that after the updates my windows 14/06/2011 7 lost performance and is directly affecting the simulator. Start with maximum performance and then my FPS plummet .. this occurs after 2 hours of flight. I make flights that go from the house of 06h and had never given it. I have a good knowledge of the FS is 9 or X and still can not believe I've done some sewed wrong, 'cause even keep the same add-ons ever. Someone noticed this in your win7? My Windows 7 is the ultimate 64. I appreciate the help.

Hi, Sometimes my computer shuts down and reboots. I have the kernel power event 41 error message. It is very frustrating. I have not been able to pinpoint any factor causing this problem. A quick Google search has not yet given any significant clue. It is a known problem which is described in the microsoft windows 7 forum but as to be expected the MS solutions are useless. Has anybody experienced that?Thank you

Hi,Recently I moved FS2004 from WinXP x86 to Win7 X64.In full screen mode I do have a strange issue. A few of my add-ons have a 'stick-to-FS-window' which run inside FS.For example the P/B application below:The app is selected through the FS menu's. When I select the app in full screen mode, my whole FS display become black and unresponsive. Hey Captains!I need your help! Can I install FS9 and FSX on the same Windows 7?I thought about creating two partitions on my HD (C: and D:) and installing FSX on "C:" and FS9 on "D:" Will it work fine or are there any issues?

i am using FS9 with windows 7. when doing a long haul, the computer screen will go into sleep mode. is there a way to prevent this from happening short of going into the computer settings and setting the screen saver to never?

Hi All I just bought a new computer, and I have installed FSX. But, when I start FSX it starts building the initial files and then it crashes. I have tried reinstall FSX which is stupid, because it was already a new installation. I am runnung FSX in compatible mode, UAC is disabled, and just to be sure I still run it as an administrator. I have updated the grafics driver. I tried removing my Flight Simulator files folder, so no previous files are the reason. I have tried installing the acceleration pack, but nothing. I am usingWindows 7 x64.Asus Geforce GTX 570i7 processor. I am a bit lost here, so I hope you can provide a next troubleshooting step. TanksBo

I've been involved with several online multiplayer groups and still cannot understand the jitterbug issue: From a distance of, oh say a mile or so, a fellow player's aircraft will seem to be normally displayed. Then when I get up in close formation the other aircraft has the jitters. Kind of like it's really really nervous having me around. Only seems to occur sporadically so it puzzles me when it crops up.I am running Win-7 64-bit on a pretty good Core i7 box that doesn't seem to have any FPS issues (35-45) in multiplay or Free Flight. Some of you may remember me; I was an occasional poster to this site a few years back, before the video card on my WinXP machine died. I bought the wilco citationx some months ago and it's always given me problems with the FA animations. If I load the cit.X from default,that is I change pplanes from my Cessna 712 for the cit.X teh FA does all her duties at the advertized times in the box. If I load the Cit.X as it should be after loading my defauilt flight the FA is Frozen in the aisle through out a whole flight, regardless what I do.It just stands there.Now I experienced this ( Attached file) the other day after loading it directly. The other day i had to re-install my flight simulator again! I'm using Windows 7, 32bit and FSX so my question is this.I read that you could set up another user account specifically for FSX which would help FSX run quicker. I set up my new user account called "flight sim"and installed FSX and all my additional aircraft which all work fine. What i would like to know, is this. Is there any way to stop flight sim working in the other main account, as at the minute FSX works fine but the add-on aircraft, especially from PMDG and Quality wings don't, and FSX then crashes. I recently successfully installed FS2004 and FSX in a new computer which has Win 7 - 64 bit - Home Premium as the Operating System.I thought perhaps the procedure I used might be helpful to anyone who is contemplating moving to the WIN 7 - 64 bit platform. 1. Turned OFF UAC (user Account Control)2. Created a new folder on my C Drive (I only have one and it is not partitioned) and named that new folder FS Games.3.Directed the FS2004 installer to make the installation to FS Games. A quick question... when installing win7 64 upgrade version, should i completely install vista64 (with / without updates) and then install upgrade to win7 or just install win7 with the quick boot method. Am i missing anything in vista?. Also as a secondary question should i install hardware (soundcards ect... ) under vista or just install into win7 once it is finally installed. Anyone have any experience with redoing their systems? As a quick note this computer is for fsx only... no mail but lite internet. I've heard a few horror stories but I'm hoping it works out.I've decided to clean install 7 rather than upgrade from Vista, hence a lot of my settings and files will be wiped out. To combat this, I have ordered a 1 TB hard drive for backing up FSX among other things.This is the BIG question.
