Hi all,a few weeks ago i decided to upgrade my motherboard because i had some issues with the old one. After changing my motherboard i'm experiencing some strange issues with FSX.All games & programms installed on my computer run fine just like before the upgrade. But every singele time i tried to load fsx the following error appeared:"A fatal error occured".I know that in this case the only solution is to uninstall and reinstall the game..and thats what i did...Then i was 100% sure that i solved the problem. Its true that the previous error doesnt appear anymore but now a new error comes up every time i try to launch FSX.It says that my dx version is not compatible with…

Hi guys, I plan to make a little network across two computers. One is my Fs system (see spec´s below) and the other one is going to be my dad´s old machine with windows XP professional and an pentium 4 CPU. I will connect them via lan and use the second one as a moving map with Plan-G and displaying approach plate and so on. Thus it is imperative that the two systems should be able to speak with each other so that the data can be transferred from one to another. Will this be possible or do I have to get a new windows 7 or vista?

I'm putting this topic because I noticed that after the updates my windows 14/06/2011 7 lost performance and is directly affecting the simulator. Start with maximum performance and then my FPS plummet .. this occurs after 2 hours of flight. I make flights that go from the house of 06h and had never given it. I have a good knowledge of the FS is 9 or X and still can not believe I've done some sewed wrong, 'cause even keep the same add-ons ever. Someone noticed this in your win7? My Windows 7 is the ultimate 64. I appreciate the help.:(

Hi, I was wondering if someone could tell me how to set up a network across two computers, both running Win 7 64. One is my desktop and it's "plugged-in" to my wireless router, the other is a laptop and connects wirelessly (though I can plug it in as well if need be). I want to be able to move files around from one computer to the other and that's about it.For bonus points: Does anyone know how fast I will be able to transfer files across the network from one computer to the other? Thanks!!!

Hi All;My machine is running Windows Home Premium 64bit and currently have FSX saved to C:\Program Files (x86)\ Microsoft Flight Simulator X. Also installed there is FS2004 and CFS3. I know that some addons scenery aircraft etc will not run when saved to the program file so how do I go about creating a new file to save them to? Do I go to Compurter; Right click on C:\ then create a new file or is that the wrong or is there a different way to do it? I would appreciate any advice. Thanks Gazza :(

Hi Guys,I've gone thorugh the whole 22 pages and picked out which was relevant to FS2004 and installing this into W7 64bit but few things do puzzle me?1) The post called Tips to install 2004, this mentions about reading OPA's tips but haven't found anything anyone point me to this please?Various posts mention to install FS2004 into C: drive rather than default (Program Files X86). My question is do I delete the default folder and when installing FS2004 select C: or C:\FS2004? Little bit confused by this one appreciate any tips or what to type:)I have rather alot of payware / freeware stuff for FS2004 including PMDG 737NG / 747 / MD11 will these work? Aswell as Overland Sc…

As I am not an expert in computers I am always wary whether or not to install up-grades etc.I have the SP1 on my new PC waiting to be installed. I know there was an issue with AES.(Have posted a message on Aerosoft to ask if it is solved)Does it affect any FSX & FS2004 products that is aware of, or the PC in general. Is it know what most people have done with this up-date.

I have had and used FSX and win 7 64 bit for some years now, and have purchased quite a few scenery add-ons and aircraft at considerable collective cost. I contracted a virus which corrupted quite a few files and needed to re-install FSX. Easy, I hear you cry but, no. The ubiquitous 'Validation' page appeared but would not allow me to proceed. I contacted Microsoft, to be informed that they no longer validate FSX for 64 bit installations. There are a number of very annoying aspects to this:1) I have never had any problems, issues...whatever with FSX on my platform. It has run flawlessly. I cannot recall any installation problems with any 3rd party add-ons. No assurances, …

Well I was having this problem and I found out how to fix it so I decided to share with you guys who might having the same problem how to fix it. The problem was that sometimes the window were freezing. I had sound and everything on the background but the image was frozen. I'm using Windows 7 but I saw many people with Vista having the same problem and perhaps with FSX as well. How to fix it: Right click on the FS9 icon; Properties; Compatibility; "Deactivate desktop composition" (or something like that). And that's it! :( Regards,Patrick Cramer

I'm just about to take delivery of a newly built system which will include Win 7. I'll be moving from XP. I'm planning on having the C drive as mostly a system drive with an E drive dedicated to FSX and it's various files. I'm OK about moving most of my data from one machine to another but I plan to do a new and fresh FSX install on drive E. Does anyone think that will cause future problems with FSX? I'm assuming that it would read as E:FSX or E:Microsoft Flight Simulator X.FSX or something similar.Any comments will be very helpful. Criticisms too.Jack Fentress

Hi guys, hopefully someone could help me, basically the title says it all. About 1 in 5 power ons results in a freeze at the Windows 7 logo screen during bootup, it's strange and completely random? Anyone else have this issue? To fix it, I have to hold the power button down for a while until the computer shuts off, then I'll just select "start windows normally" and most of the time it will boot right up.Thanks

Hi,I have this strange issue with SB and I'm pretty sure it is caused by Windows 7.Frequently when having filed a flight plan, next time I open the flight plan window, extra chars have been added (randomly):I can remove them but next time some other chars have been inserted. It's no biggie of course but I just wonder why this happens.SB is installed outside the Win7 default program files folder and is ran 'as admin'.Anyone a clue?Egbert

Hi allI've just upgraded from Vista Home Premium to Windows 7 Ultimate. FSX performance has gone through the floor, on Vista I got really good FPS with a little stuttering every now and again. Now using Windows 7 the FPS jumps from 3 to 191 to 89 to 9 to 120, it's totally unflyable, and much much worse than it was using Vista. This is using the default ultralight at Friday Harbour with low settings for the graphics. When installing W7 I did a clean install, then installed the latest drivers, then FSX with SP1 and SP2.Totally confused as to why this is happening. I had read W7 performance should be slightly better. If anyone has any ideas of things I can check it would b…

Hi All,I am new to the forum and am wanting some advice. I have recently purchased a new computer with the following specs: Intel i7 3.02ghz quad core; gigabyte x58a-ud3r mb; 6gb ram; gtx580 video card; sound card; 1tb hdd; dvd; 23" monitor and Windows7 Home premium 64 bit. I am running FSX. My question is this: I wish to purchase some of the PMDG addons for FSX but before spending my hard earned money was wanting to know if they would run under a 64bit OS. Some of the ones I am interested in are 747-400; MD11; BAe JS4100 to start with. Any help/ advice you can give would be greatly appreciated.Kind RegardsGary

I have previously posted this question a month or 2 ago in the FS9 forum and as yet still not having any luck, so hopefully as this is probably a WIN7 issue hopefully someone can shed some light on this and help me out.Twice now I have bought and installed Ground Environment Pro, after the first time I got a refund as I gave up trying but this issue kept niggling away at me and I decided to give it another ago after a complete fresh re-install of FS9, making sure that it was outside of my Program Files. But I still keep getting the same problems despite all the advice I have been given, eg disable UAC, run as administartor etc.Anyway this is what I wrote in my previous po…

I've always been curious about this and wonder if someone can answer my question. I run Windows 7 64 bit and have several programs that run in background, i.e. Norton Systemworks, Webroot, plus sundry other programs like Western Digital add on drive and Printer software. Each of these programs has a process that runs in background, you can see them by pulling up Task Manager and looking under the processes tab. When I go to fly FSX, I always stop Norton Antivirus, Firewall and Webroot. I've never tried going into Task Manager and stopping processes as I'm afraid I may stop a process that is citical and needs to be running in order to keep Win from crashing. Does anyone kn…

Hi Everyone,I have been having a weird problem with my GoFlight hardware "disappearing" after a while in Win7 Ultimate 64 bit. I've installed the most recent GF drivers (W7-64 compatible, they claim), and it still happens. The hardware modules will just vanish from recognition by the GF Config program and by FSX/FS9, and I have to reboot my system t get them to come back. Also, sometimes the lights on various modules stop working. I have their full airliner captain setup with dual EFIS controls. Has anyone else had these problems? (I can't remember if it did this in WinXP Pro 32 bit or not....haven't used it since 11/09). Thanks for any help anyone can provide...Ji…
