I have been facing facing this problem ever since I downgraded to windows 7 due to performance and haven't been able to find a solution, every once in a matter of minutes the wifi connection says that the connection is limited and I have to manually fix the issue by resetting the wireless adapter.

Is there a solution to permanently fix this problem?

	Thanks in advance.

I have an old Alienware Aurora R4 desktop, running Windows 7 Home. The last couple of months it has been acting oddly during booting up, alternating between locking up at the BIOS splash screen and booting as normal. What happens is that, after having booted up normally, if it restarts/reboots (cold or warm) once it reaches the BIOS splash screen, where you can select F2 or F12 (or the hidden F8) it beeps once then the computer just hangs there. Nothing works: no keys, mouse; no input at all. Pressing the power button immediately kills everything: the machine instantly shuts down and all power off. Pressing and releasing the power button after that, and the computer does nothing at all for about 3-4 seconds, before turning on as normal.

It does this on a regular cycle, alternating between locking up at the BIOS screen and booting up to the desktop. I tried everything to fix it: disabling all services except MS ones using msconfig; unplugging all peripherals, including mouse and keyboard; assuring all software and drivers--including BIOS--were up to date. I finally pinpointed the problem: the wireless USB network adapter.

I've tried two different ones: Netgear and Belkin, and the same thing happens: If either are plugged in (and I've tried four different USB ports with each) the computer goes through the alternating freeze-and-normal boot cycle. If I unplug them, then the computer boots normally. If I have them plugged in, then unplug them before rebooting, the computer boots normal and without the odd 3-4 second pause. I just can't have them plugged in during a boot.

I can't seem to find anything online that addresses this, so I thought I'd try here.

In light of my specs, I am looking for the best complementary antiviral, registry cleaning, disk checking, disk defragmentation, driver updates, game booster software to go along with Windows Defender--software that will allow me run FSX and Active Sky Next for FSX without serious RAM issues. All of the current software I've come across (Norton, McAfee etc.) will pose excessive RAM usage issues for me. Thanks as always.

So i recently installed Win10 64bit (guess why) on my long serving Win 7 system and intended to keep both OS in a dual boot configuration. There is a tutorial which told me this is completely possible and Win10 recognizes a Win7 system at startup and asks which one to boot.
I have 2 SSDs, created an unpartitioned space on one of them and, using partition wizard, and switched its partition grid to GPT, installed Win10 and this works. But: Win10 doesnt find Win7 at bootup as intended. To get into Win7, I had to manually change the boot HDD in BIOS setup.
After a bit of switching around, the Win7 OS doesnt boot anymore. Selecting to boot from "Windows boot manager" in BIOS brings me to Win10. But when i try to manually select the Win7 SSD after that, i am only being shown a white blinking cursor and nothing happens after that.

So does anyone have an idea how to get my Win7 system back, or to make the windows boot selector recognize that installation?

I currently use Windows 7. I'm upgrading my entire system to get ready for FSX 2020 and because MS has stopped supporting Windows 7, so a lot of stuff I use will be effected going forward, including my tax software for next year.

I'm building a new computer and using a lot of newer parts from my old computer, including my HDD c drive and b drive (which house all my programs like FSX).

So this is what I'm doing and what I'm concerned about.

New case, mobo, chip, memory, and m2 ssd hard drive to boot from on a new fresh Windows 10 that I have put on a thumb drive for the build.

My old computer has Windows 7 with a C and B HDD drives. FSX is installed on C drive with extras on my B drive (windows 7).

*** I think if I build the new computer and add my old B and C drives, none of those programs will work, plus the operating system will be Windows 10 from my New SSD m2 drive.

	Questions:

	1. Will simply renaming my boot drive to say "A drive" and leaving my old B and C drives labeled that way give me any advantage on getting FSX, etc programs installed on my old C drive to work, such as in the Windows 10 control panel?

	2. If not, is there an app to solve this problem so I don't have to lose all my settings and everything on reinstalling all my existing c drive programs?

	3. Is there a way to handle this upgrade without losing anymore of the hair off my bald head, when I start pulling it out during the build? 🙂

Any advice would be very much appreciated! I'm getting ready for FSX 2020!

Anyone ever use EaseUS for this? It's a transfer program.

Most flightsim and add-on makers have already offically droped win7 along with MS, thus make running their product on win7 untested and under one's own risk.

Still, some actually running well under win7, but some was already definitely NOT working on win7 anymore.

So are anyone still using win7 intersted in making this ongoing list? Whether it's for us diehard to avoid unnecessary purchase, or to encourage one to go for WIN10

I certainly can't buy and test them all, here is what I know:

	Hello everyone,

I am currently trying to solve a problem with ChasePlane. The program has an auto-update function that launches itself each time on startup. Because of a programming error (imho) Chaseplane deletes itself (the old version) before successfully downloading the new version. Therefore the program uninstalls itself upon launch.
Support points me at antivirus or firewalls blocking the update download, but I dont have anything like that running. I placed the whole machine in the routers DMZ, deactivated windows firewall and DEP and do not have any antivirus installed.
However, something still seems to block Chaseplane.exe from accessing its update server.

Is there any general way/tool to test the internet access of a specific program on my computer? Like a connection monitoring tool etc?

I got win 7 running on a coffee lake pc !!!

using only these 3 extra items I purchased 2nd hand

	1) a ps2 mouse and keyboard needed for installing windows menus as the coffee lake usb 3.0 or 3.1 are to new for windows 7 to regonise during the install

costing about 4 pounds for the ps2 mouse and 4 for the ps2 keyboard

	2) a cheap 4 port or 7 port usb 3.0 pci-e card you can plugin in to you motherboard that will give you mouse and keyboard functionality in windows once windows is instaLLED

	costing about 14 pounds

once windows is installed you wont be able to use the motherboards built in usb as windows 7 wont regonise the new ports

but that ok because you've installed a usb pci-e that will give you 7 usb ports

I need to do this as I needed tileproxy for my scenery thats work perfectly in windows 7

tile proxy runs on prepar3d v3 win7 using this method

boot F8 select disable driver signing enforcement

	disable UAC in windows

and run Prepar3d v3 using FS estoninia start in legacy mode

this could be useful info for anyone whos bought a new pc and needs to get windows 7

installed using an easy method ( no skill required !!!)
