Hi I recently changed from chrome to IE11 due to the far superior download speeds however cut n paste worked for a while and then stopped although I can paste to notepad no probs Also the quote button goes through the motions but doesn't quote. Any ideas anyone?

Hi, To put you in the picture I've had several issues migrating over to win7 64bit ultimate (in some respects I'm sorry I did) but anyway I think I have just about ironed out most bugs/glitches but I have one that's really annoying me, I cant save a basic fsx config. example I have ultra high detail on most things but pmdg 737 hangs when I select this so I have to manually alter aircraft graphics to high which works ok but if I save it and close fsx and load it up again it's as if it didn't save it, no matter what changes I make in my config it doesn't appear to save them.??? Any ideas would be much appreaciated as I'm now losing the plot after everthing else th…

I have my trusty MSFF2 connected via a USB to my computer running FSX\Gold but I don't feel any forces? Is there any way of correcting this? Please guide me. Berlopez

Can someone please point out to me where I can find the Windows joystick dialog? I need to know the number of one of my controllers and the number of a button on it, which both dont seem to correspond to the joystick and button number as I see it in FSUIPC. According to the manual I should be able to find it in the Windows joystick dialog, but either searching my computer, or searching on internet dont give me any results at all... If someone could point me out where to go would be great.

Yesterday I updated some important updates for Windows 7 64-bit, but when the computer asked me to restart after updating, the configuring updates function while starting up kept running at 23%. I just left it running overnight, hoping it would be finished in the morning, only to find this process got stuck (the blue activity circle wasnt moving anymore). Only advise I could find was to shut down the computer and restart again, to let Windows finish the configuration, but this didnt happen and checking my updates, several updates are still pending. The help files said to just restart the computer again to let Windows finish configuring, but the computer just starts up w…

Hey guys, I'm having an issue with a couple of addon installers freezing at 98-99%, CIVA INS and the Super 80 Pro. I'm trying to figure out what could be causing them to freeze up. I have Advanced System Care Ultimate, which has never caused a problem before, and Malwarebytes, which I think could be the culprit, but uninstalling both hasn't helped. I'm looking for a little input. I'm getting ready to build a new computer. My OS is Windows 7 Pro 64 bit, but I purchased this as an upgrade from back in the day I had Windows XP. I have both serial numbers, but was hoping not to pollute a new clean HDD with old OS files. Some Googling suggests that I can make a change in the registry to make the system believe there is an old OS and therefore continue the activation without problems. I've seen this discussed in articles/interviews with Microsoft and I do legtimiately own XP, so it seems that this is both possible and legal. I currently have 4 drives in my PC, listed below: 250 GB SSD - OS, FSX, Orbx, Other small non-FSX programs 120 GB SSD - FSX addons (REX and Planes) 3TB HDD - iTunes 1TB HDD - Storage and where my USERTEMP and WINTEMP files are written (saves writes on the SSD) The set up for the OS, FSX, and the add-ons kind of developed over time and as I look at it now, it doesn't make sense. Hi Guys!! My setup has two hard drives a 600Gb fast drive which has all my FSX and related add-ons on it and the main 1Tb drive which has the OS and my other non-FS programs on it. Recently the large drive failed and I had to replace it. After I thanked the Almighty that all my FS stuff was safe, when i started up the computer most of my icons on the desktop were gone including that for FSX. I wanted to play fs98 so i installed it and everything set up and ran like normal so I went to download the patch and when I try to install the patch I get this error Cannot find existing installation of Microsoft flight simulator 98. Installation aborted

It's been suggested to me to use a PC registry cleaner regularly on my computer. Search engine links seem to point me to all kinds of supposed "unbiased reviews" that seem to imply there's only one good cleaner and the rest are garbage. Any recommendations?

With P3Dv2.3 around the corner I decided to do some spring cleaning (well, summer cleaning), and prep also with a fresh install of my Windows 7 Ultimate 64. After 4 years figured it was time to clean out the cobwebs! So I have formated my new 256GB SSD just for the OS, performed the install of just the motherboard drivers so I have the LAN and such. Hi time repairs here new to all this but I have a problem with fsx that has so got me down I'm tearing me hair out. In fact the bald patch could be written in as a new landing strip..... Basically, I would like to shift some bits,is saitek instrument panels, rudder controls to free up the main PC but for the life of me I just can't get simconnect to work. The title probably does not make much sense so let me explain this better. I just purchased a new 256GB SSD to replace my old 128GB that I use only for Win7 OS on my desktop. I was running out of room! So I got to thinking this could be a good time rather than install a backup I have onto the larger SSD, do a new full, clean install of Win7. So then I thought, on performing the actual installation first on my 2nd PC (I have two desktop PC's), install the OS and all the programs, and then move the SSD over to my main PC? After 10 years of using XP and the last 4 of using it for FSX, I am going to be switching over to Win 7 64 when my new build is done. Having never used it before and not really knowing much about it aside from the few things I read around here regarding it and FSX, it leaves me with a few questions regarding the initial setup prior to or after FSX is installed. Just a general query; If the software is the only change, when moving from XP to Win7 can I move my overclocking settings over as is or would I be better off just to start new in Win7?

Has anyone any idea how to restore EventViewer? Every time I try to run it I get a message : 'Event Log service unavailable. Verify that the service is running' but there is no reference to it in the Services. I can see the .exe in Windows/System32 but get the same error message there too. Help!

Tried to install FSX on to my new build today and all went smooth until activation time. An invalid error came up and I have tried everything in the book, I've called and they couldn't help, I unchecked the Compatibility box, and I've completely re-installed. I am at a loss of where to go here. Any help would be appreciated!

Hello! Somehow I managed to block Virtuali from running their programs in my windows 7 OS. So now I wonder how can I unblock them so that I can run GSX again? I have tried everything, set it to "trusted publishers", turned off anti virus, switched off windows firewall? But I still can't see addon manager under addons menu in fsx? Help me somebody! Well, this is a nightmare! After loading FSX, my laptop will do an abrupt shut down without any sort of heads up! It usually happens within 5 minutes of loading. This is the worst! CDT would at least give me some chance to debug the system! But no! The system does a very brief and frantic harddisk I/O and then just shuts down! Here's a brief story of my situation: I use my Samsung RC530 laptop for simming (on a tight budget folks). It follows that the laptop isn't a dedicated gaming rig. I'm writing this for those scared of the prospect of reinstalling every add-on they had in FS9 to get things to work in Windows 7. The big elephant in the room is one doesn't have to reinstall everything. What I found is if an advanced FS9 simmer has their FS9 setup exactly like they want only a few things have to be reinstalled outside of FS9 to be back up and running in record time. All your texture, traffic, scenery, and 90% of everything else just needs to be copied over. I read that the retail package for Win7 stopped shipping last year. I have XP and want to move over to Win7. I figured it would be a good time as I am installing a new HD. My primary use of the PC is Flight Sims and related web browsing. The title on display at the various web-stores is always saying OEM. I want to get Win7 Home Premium 64 Bit, but the variations of the title out there is confusing. I can buy a new build PC from my friendly vendor with Win7, but I want to keep my current E8500 and GTX650Ti and just overclock the puppy. All I want at the moment is the software changeover. Ok i'm close to re-installing windows 7 and tweaking it following tweakhound to solve my CTD fsx and have a more stable playform and then install fsx! Has anyone done this and is it successful?

My current OS is XP Home (on a E8500 and GTX650Ti) and I pretty much stay with the FS9 world. I am still on the fence on going to Win7 as my home PC is primarily for flight sim only. I can use my work PC (OS Win7) for any web surfing, like now, if necessary. Outside of the security issues with web surfing with XP, are there any real benefits (like increase performance) by moving over to the Win7 OS for flight sim?
