I just downloaded the january 2012 issue of PC Pilot on my iPad. To my big disapointment there was nothing about X-Plane 10 in this issue. The only exception was a full page ad.I was really looking forward to read a qualified review, some news and perhaps some tips'n'tricks, but there was nothing. How come?

Is there any way that I can get X-Plane mobile on the Kindle Fire without rooting? I had it on before, but after the 6.2 version came into effect, it was erased. I have no phone for apk's.

Hey everyone, I just bought Carenado F33A BONANZA XPLANE, It's day a night better than the X plane 10 defaults , but one problem I found is the airplane banks to the right or the left sharply when I leave the yoke. Also with the default C172 anytime the flaps are lowered a step bank to the right.I can't trim and leave the yoke in straight and level, this is with standard weather with no wind. I have PFC yoke and pedals. I've tried to play with the joystick sliders but it didn't change that behavior. I have the 3 left sliders all the way to the right for Full stability and 30% for the 3 right sliders on the right and 15% Nullzone. Thanks for any Help.

I have a custom texture I want to install without overwriting the original, so I'm trying to place it in the Custom Scenery directory and write a library.txt file to point to it, but it's not working. Here's what I've done:Created a directory called "Smoke Puff". Inside is the library.txt file and another directory labeled "texture" with "smoke_puff.png" inside. Basically this:Smoke Puff- texture-- smoke_puff.png- library.txtIn my library.text file I have: A800LIBRARYEXPORT texture/smoke_puff.png Resources/bitmaps/world/clouds/smoke_puff.png but X-Plane is still using the original texture. I'll admit I'm a complete newbie at this, so I'm probably doing (or not doing…

I'm having a problem with jagged shadows. See the screenshots:(Look particularly around the right yoke)I'm running on Linux with an nVidia card and the 280.13 drivers.Causes? Solutions? Should I file a bug report?Edit: Here are my rendering options since somebody is probably going to ask:I get jagged shadows with and without HDR.

Hello Team!Any ideas how to do instant replay in XPX? They took the replay function out - I'm sure it's been re-done or something as I can't imagine a good reason to take this out. Thanks!Dennis

  10. HI there,Has anyone had a chance to observe how the new "plausible" world appears somewhere other than the US?In the land "down under" there are a few factors involved I think... e.g. OSM data is probably not as strong, Elevation info also is probably not quite as good.In XP9 it was common to have roads up the sides of mountains etc. and it looked pretty dodgy. Is XPX any better? Thanks in anticipation.Bruce H (Oz)

I have been flying the R22 and the Bell 206 around in the demo ( I think my discs are showing up today, so I can start installing later tonight.) and have enjoyed it so far. This was one of the main reasons I got XPX was to fly low in helicopters! Can anyone recommend some more detailed models (retail or free) that would have more modern avionics with glass cockpits and more detailed panels and operational doors, etc.?I was a flight mech in the USCG on HH-65's back in the early 90's. I have extensive RC helicopter/quadcopter experience and would love to chat with any of you interested in helicopters in XPX.Mike

Howdy Folks! Is there a way to make the runway and taxiway lights a little brighter in XP10? I find them to be too dim. Also, Is there a way of making the "rabbit" approach lights brighter and more fluid? What I mean by fluid is to avoid or eliminate the "tac tac tac" effect and have a solid "rabbit flash" that could be seen from a distance like in real life. Same question for the localizer lights. Usually these don't start flashing correctly until you're on top of them.On another note - has anyone yet experienced the radiation fog effect in XP10??? It's awesome!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!Thanks!Dennis D. Mullert

Been spending time with XP9 since the Caranado Bonanza breathed some life into the sim. I recently installed the free forests update for the U.S. from http://www.alpilotx.net/ then flew around my home turf. Wow...all the 3D forests and clumps of trees sized, shaped and placed exactly where they are in the real world! Who'd have thought it was possible? The only flaw is that the default ground textures clash pretty badly with the 3d trees which undermines the effect to a large degree. What's needed now is a set of treeless ground textures.

  21. Hello Team!Well, what can I say. Yesterday I received my XP10 booklet. I have to say that before installation, my expectations were low mainly due to my old 3 year old system and my fear of it not handling XP10 very well - after all, it did nothandle the demo very well. I decided to jump in and install anyways and not wait to update my new rig in a couple of months. 7 hours later (yes, that's how long it took to install) and after the updates, I was done and ready to take XP10 for a spin. I deided not to look at frame rates period. I noticed how fluid the sim was. After spending a couple fo hours fiddling with assignments and settings, I took a couple fo different …

Hello team!Well, my copy of XP10 arrived yesterday evening and I must say - I am impressed so far - even on my little puny 3 year olf computer she runs allright - of course, with HDR off.Two questions:1. How do I see a replay of my latest landing? In XP9 there was a command under Special/Show replay or somethig like that but that function is no longer available in XP10.2. I know some folks have asked the question of the Hat Switch, but seriously????? No hat switch command? I've tinkered for several hours and I've been able to get the forward, left, right, and back views set, but how about the quarter views? How are you guys setting up your hat switches to work as t…
