Hi,I'm having a hard time saving a flight in progress (esentially a pause for use at another time - don't always have time to complete a flight at one time). I tried the save situation. When I load that situation in the future, it will usually not work properly and always takes me to an airport somewhere. Any ideas?Frustrating.

Hi all!I hope you're enjoying the beginning of the new year. I'm a simmer going back to the Commodore 64, but new to XPlane. I'm really enjoying it, even though there is indeed a learning curve for those used to FSX.I finally got my hat switch working perfect, thanks to many of you, and I apreciate your help! I'm now panning and zooming with ease.I had a couple of questions, and I am sorry if these have been addressed:1 - Cloud shadows - I have a pretty good rig with good video card, and the sim is running smooth for me with mid-to-high settings. I though am not seeing cloud shadows. I've played around with the weather, time of day, and cloud setups, with no avail. …

“Santa” brought X-Plane 10 this past Christmas (long before we knew what MS Flight was actually going to look like). What I have tried to figure out and can’t seem to find the answer to is how to pan around the VC cockpit in a manner that is reasonably smooth. I have tried mapping the hat switch to “view up/down/left/right” in XP, but I get the view actually switch to a 90 degree angle rather than a (smooth) pan. I’m almost new to XP (I gave up on XP9, more because my Mac Book Pro wasn’t powerful enough to run it- I had the Mac version). Some of the graphics are incredible (other than the low fps I get with clouds)- but if I could actually pan around maybe I could st…

Using some of Mortens hints (many apply for airliners) I have started to take some older version 8 and 9 GA planes and strip them down even more in order to use them as AI planes.http://forums.x-plane.org/index.php?showtopic=55957&view=findpost&p=619066I do not fly FL350 and above, so I need some GA around me. I'll see how that goes. This little taildragger flies nicely, but taxies not very convincing. Well, first try ;)

Need to pick your brains.......I've built myself a simple panel with rotary encoders (with push button) and toggle switches. I have everything I wanted to do, working well. The question I have is, can I take a single rotary encoder and assign it to tune for example Com1, both the fine and coarse adjustment, by using the push button function of the encoder to toggle between the two, thus eliminating the need for two encoders, or a very expensive dual concentric encoder. I've gone through the documentation for this plugin, don't really see what I'm after. I can't figure out a way to toggle between the fine and coarse adjustments. I'm using a bu0836x card.GlenEdit: I'm using…

Good evening Geof,A question about trim in the F33 Bonanza, about how much trim should one give this plane for takeoff? I started using the 3 above U, went to 6 then I have been going almost but not quite up to 9. That is the point that will give me a 90 knot climb.By the way, I did a climbout from 1300 feet to 10000 ft, started with 28 inHg and at 10000ft had 22.5 in.HG. So the pressure is droping it just that the lapse rate is a little slow. I figure the 28 in.Hg is because this is a brand new plane. :(

Forgive me for saying so, and for being so blunt, but what did you all expect??It was stated it would be a Windows beta product...which means paying for extras. What did you think the extras were? Navy ships? Shipwrecks? Landmarks? Scenery? They only ever showed Seattle. They only ever showed 2 aircraft. They used the word "game" in their news releases. They said it was a 80GB install.OrbX said they were not interested in developing for it. (If anyone knows anything, THEY DO.)I mean, there were enough clues to make it as obvious as the amount of fat in a deep fried packet of fries! They did everything short of coming out with an official news release. Now they come out with t…

Hi. I need some help from you guys. I am flying the carenado f33 and while on rwy, it constantly veers left. I need to compensate like a madman to keep from going off the rwy. As soon as I lift the plane veers right. I have been tinkering with settings for hours but it's still the same. Wind and turbulence set to 0. No difference. Sent from my GT-I9100 using Tapatalk

What causes this? Is there a suggested optimal setting to use. I am using latest nvidia drivers w/inspector for FSX and everything looks great. I don't know where these blocks of video comes from. Help please . . . .

I am having considerable tearing and have vSync set to Always On in my video card settings. I tried all of the other settings and still have tearing when I look around the cockpit. I am using an ATI 6970 card and have the latest driver. I did not have this issue in x-plane 9. Does anyone know of a fix for this?

Out of the 3 above mentioned the Carenado Bonanza is of course by far the best. The roll inertia/feel of the Archer III is alo very nice but the problem with the pitch axis is the delayed and exaggerated pitch response if you make big corrections. Generally she does feel too 'heavy' which is actually good as the twitchy paper airplane feeling was one of the worst problems with x-plane.Tried both of Gorans mods and the first update was quite ok but the latest on the other hand is really bad. Don't know what has happened. The roll inertia is greater than on a real Boeing 767 and the associated yaw excursions are really wild. But at least it shows what x-plane can do.The quest…

Hi all,Setting:Compress Textures to save Vram.I left this option on for a while but have since turned it off with better results, graphically. On one of my addon planes, there is writing on the left engine which was unreadable with this setting on,but it's now very sharp and clear.Might help some who are new to X Plane get better visuals..It doesn't make a HUGE difference to the amount of memory you use either on the graphics card, but a 1gig card would be better/(i currently have a 512MB myself)Sure a lot of X Plane users are aware,i started out on version 9 and forgot about it.!

Admins, better delete now. OK, Clouds look good, night looks great, that's where this ends. For all real pilots out there, if you think this is "as real as it gets" GET REAL! Flight dynamics are as far from real as possible, I've never flown a plane (in real life) as unstable as this sim portrays! If real planes flew like this, I would turn in my license. As for the "plausable world", WHATEVER. This sim is a sad attempt at mimicing the real world, It still feels like your flying in a strange, uninhabited, false interpritation of what is REAL. I have an airport in Las Vegas in the sim, that dosn't acually exist in real life, c'mon. Cities are completely WRONG, and…

Go to the "Rendering Options" screen, in the "CLOUD DETAIL" tab, and lower the "number of cloud puffs" slider to a very low value (I have mine to zero). Here's a comparison between default value (50%) and modified value (0%) for the "number of cloud puffs". One layer of "scattered cumulus", 2000ft thick. Note the FPS (first number top left):BEFOREAFTERBEFOREAFTERIf you want to change the density of clouds, alter the "size of cloud puffs" slider. Since I think 50% gives too much density for scattered clouds, I have mine to 0%. Here are the results for both "number of cloud puffs" and "size of cloud puffs" set to 0%:Marco
