Does anyone know who the company is that is selling the complete United States scenery on a 500 MB hard drive? It's for FSX but I wonder how that scenery would convert to X-Plane? I did a seach but I just can't remember who it was!

I was looking for some sceneries to convert for X-Plane and saw that this site has some very nice ones already done for X-Plane. It says X-Plane 8 but they work and look great in my 9.70. I have never heard about that site so I think it might be worth sharing:http://www.flightpor...4da74531b4756f3The site is in German but it should be easy to navigate.

I spent the last day tweaking my settings in Xplane X. Did lots of experiments with the rendering options and found that sweet spot for my system. a good balance between Looks great, runs great. Im Very happpy. Did the same thing with Joystick settings and Ive got pitch and roll just where I like it. My only issue is with nose wheel steering. It seems fine taxing around. Once I start my takeoff role, the plane starts to pull to the right and I cant seem to compinsate. I almost always come dangerously close to the edge of the runway. I wanted to set up my rudder pedals for both yaw and nose wheel tiller, but cant seem to do both. Right now I have my joystick twist as nos…

Hi guys.Well first off: Well, I'm about to take the plunge to Xp10 (not to replace FSX at all, but more of a side hobby to my first hobby ;) ), but I'm reluctant because my main reason for taking the plunge is the CRJ200 by Jrollon, and I don't know much about it, and most importantly - I need some kind of reference to what I already have: A FSX running very smooth (very rare CDT) with an outstanding NGX to fly.Trying to find info and review on this CRJ200 (detailed reviews and not just the sales speaches) is kinda hard.So I would love to hear from someone who has already taken the plunge into XP10 and in particualry the CRJ200 (or any jetliner in fact - I wanna be flying…

Being new to XP I wanted to try out converting Scenery I have from FSX to XP. I found this free utility called FS2XP, which im sure most of you are familliar with. I tried it on a freeware airport I have for FSX. Its scenery for Republic Airport in Farmingdale Long Island (My home Airport). Its very simple scenery, So I thought Id try it first. Aside from some graphical glitches here and there, it works better than I though it would. So then I tried Aerosoft Manhattan X and it also works but has many untextured buildings buildings mixed in and some funky stuff going on with the Brooklyn Bridge, but otherwise looks pretty good. Better than default anyways. NO frame rate l…

Back in the day, it was suggested that while MSFS had the better scenery and airport details that X-Plane had better flight dynamics. Is that still the belief today? I'd sure like to get into carrier landings and would consider X-Plane if the flight dynamics were indeed better. Thanks,RH

I have the Carenado C172II and love it. My only complaint is that I can't get the strobe lights to turn on. Is this is a bug? The 3D panel actually has a switch spot labeled "strobes" but it is not clickable. Why? Is this a bug? Shouldn't all planes have strobes? I also cannot turn the strobes on with the strobes switch on my Saitek TPM, which does work for other aircraft. And in an unrelated topic, I miss not having a GPS in the cockpit on this bird, but it's a great excuse to practice my radio navigation skills which need some polishing up anyway. I love this plane!

At least in Brazil, V10 Xplane is ridiculous. The mesh is totally wrong, Rio de Janeiro looks worse than it did in FS98. I wish I knew how to adapt SRTM from FS into X-Plane, or at least make from the ground up, but I have no clue.

X-Plane 10.04 Beta 2 All buttons on the FMS's should work properly even if there are two different FMS's in the airplane. Wind-shear and turbulence model refined a little more to be more complex in it's randomness, and not always quite so strong in what are requested to be moderate conditions, and to change in a reasonable way with altitude. This should help improve wind and turbulence modeling, especially with Real-Weather turned on. X-15 drop and Space-Shuttle-carry missions should work properly now. Right-mouse drag to look around in 3-D cockpit command-look view, and mouse scroll wheel zooms. This is a pretty convenient way to look around the 3-D cockpits. (This …

Ok, this one took me a little bit longer. About 10 minutes. After reading the business about the 747 doing loops in XP10, I decided to have a look at the acf. Saw a few issues, modded them, and here you go.I haven't THOROUGHLY tested it, but it's definitely harder, if not impossible to do a loop.Just drop it into the 747-400 United folder.Feedback welcome. To download it, right click the link, select "Save as..." and start downloading.http://dl.dropbox.com/u/1192596/747-400%20United.acf

So I took off from Madison, WI (KMSN) in my Carenado C172II last night in XPX and tuned my two VOR receivers to fly the airway between KMSN and Oshkosh (KOSH). Lined up for a straight-in approach to runway 36. 50 feet from the runway my screen goes black.... What the! Crap. Windows screensaver just kicked in. I was able to hit "P" and pause the sim, then hit alt-tab a couple of times to get my XPX graphics back. My plane was nose-down about to smack grass. Dang it, I hate it when that happens. Mental note... Disable screensaver before starting XPX.

I am having problems setting up views with the PilotView (PV) Plugin. I have the latest version running in Windows7 with TrackIR 4, and have read the accompanying PDF.The problems I am getting are; the view controls on the panel not moving the view (except the tilt view up / down); and when I can move the view (program seems to respond better to cursor keys, PageUP/DOWN, +/- keys) and think I have set up and saved a new view I find that when I call it up the view defaults to, in the case of the Q400, the back of the passenger cabin.I suspect I am at fault not the program and would greatly appreciate any tips other users have on how they setup their views. In particular t…

At the risk of running afoul of the screenshots rule, here is an answer to LAdamson, of what the Telluride approch to runway 9 looks like in X-Plane 10, since he doesn't have 10 yet. :(

Hi,I'll post this here because I am an X-Planer and want to primarily reach the X-Planers frequenting this site.I read your forum and some of the posts in the following topic really spoke to my heart:http://forum.avsim.net/topic/267918-is-x-planeorg-site-hurting-the-x-plane-franchise/page__st__25Some of you may know me as a somewhat long (not super long, just about 3 to 4 years) time member from the other site. I do not like to badmouth anybody and shed bad karma, but I really started to feel the need to be reorienting myself to find a new home for my X-Plane community interaction. I am pleased to find an alternative here and already feel like there is a "fresh breeze" on…

Hi all,I thought I read that there was a way in Airplane Maker to adjust the size and offset for the rendered jet heat/exhaust cones.I'd like to make them a bit smaller and off-set on jets, but can't seem to find the reference for where/how to do this. Thanks!Really enjoying XPXBillKGYH

Is there currently a way in XPX to exclude certain aircraft from being used as AI. If I wanted to fly airliners only (for example) and dont want GA traffic showing up, can I exclude them from being used. I wouldn't want to delete them, just not have them used as ai. Maybe a way to comment them out temporarily? If this is not currently possible, Is it in the works to be address in a future update? Rob

Afternoon all,I've been doing an "interesting" flight from Faroe Islands to Iceland with real weather switched on.Winds on ground 25 knots with gusts to 35, Typical Atlantic strong / gale force conditions for this time of year. Something the real airline pilots take in their stride up where I live in Scotland.X-Plane turbulence seems to be wing snappingly strong for such winds! Flying a 737 is very hard to keep the wings level. Flying any sort of light aircraft results in movements so violent that you suffer from Over-G failure (if enabled). Now I've done plenty of real flights in those sort of conditions. They're bumpy, but not that bumpy.Does anyone else feel that r…

Can anyone explain to me the advantages of the XP10 view system, please?Cause I simply don't get the idea of this "system". And since view-control is a very basic and important thing I expect that it is worth a thought. What I think would be convenient and "plausible" too, is simple: Pan and zoom with the mouse, then fix the view and manipulate a knop, pan again. This would require just a mouse, two mouse buttons and the mousewheel. You start in 3d forward view. Push and hold the right mb and pan around. Release the button and the view is fixed. use left mb to set the knobs. push and hold right mouse button to pan again. Mouse could be used to zoom in and out during pan-mo…
