I was looking at the included Space Shuttle Orbiter last night. NIce looking model. I saw a video of it in orbit in Xplane. How do you get it up there? Can I set an altitude to start off at? or is there a situation that has to be loaded first?Rob

Hi All,Loaded up beta six, and how I have the following problem, that I can't seem to resolve through rendering settings or re-boots.As you can see in the photo, everything goes to a blur about 25 miles out....never had this before. Weather settings don't appear to be the problem.Thoughts, ideas? If others have seen this, could it be a rendering bug in beta six?I run an NVidia card, and i7....all was well until this latest update.ThanksBillKGYH

Guys, I'm using this plugin http://forums.x-plan...ettingNewSkin=3 in XPX, works quite well.I would like to be able to bind the "show" / "hide" to a toggle switch or something in XPX. You can go into the plugin menu in XPX, and under this plugin, there's the options to "hide" / "show" the gps. The plugin must be triggering / assigning something in XPX, a dataref (?), so, how does one go about finding out what is triggering this to hide / show, and then allow it to be assigned to buttons, keystrokes, whatever you like. Maybe button2dataref, is anyone familiar with datarefs? If I can click with my mouse to hide or show the gps, there must be something that is assignable in …

Went to EDDF after the beta 7 update, my first time in Europe. :smile:Try taking of on runway 25R it will give you a lurch in the stomach. I didn't know that one could get a flippy tummy watching pictures. If you have stereographic 3D, (anyglyph won't work in X-Plane), the sensation is even more pronounced.If you are landing the Duchess there better have your speed as low as you can get it or she won't take the bounce when taxiing to a stop!!

I just turned on the damage modeling on a few days ago and found that I have built up some sloppy tendencies in my past simming. Exceding airframe stress and lowering flaps at too high a speed. Ive broken something off the plane in 2 of my last 3 flights and twice spun out of control. Im use to just throwing down the flaps an any speed and not having to worry about it. Bad habits Im going to have to fight off. Im leaving this turned on, so I can't cheat the laws of physics anymore.Rob

After the last two updates X-Plane 10.04 Beta 6 & 7 whenever the aircraft I am flying or the AI aircraft are taxiing or taking off there is continuous tyre smoke.

Hey guysI am furiously creating photoscenry for Florida using Google maps and G2xpl, I might have gotten a little overzealous and deleted something I thought was from my earlier, sloppier attempts, and now when I try to load up the sim, I get this error. Can anyone help me fix or get around this?Thanks

Evening all,Decided to carry out some improvements to my local airport (Aberdeen, Dyce: EGPD). This is very much a "my first airport" attempt, so for the time being I've got no material to show off.Anyway, the question is this: In wed, I can add 3D objects from the library. But in WED I cannot view these objects or see precisely how they are positioned. It means that I constantly have to startup X-Plane, see the object, exit X-Plane, make corrections to position, choice of object etc... and then reopen X-Plane to see if I fixed it. It takes ages.....In short it's not a nice workflow. Is there any way of seeing how objects (especially buildings) are going to be place…

Just installed X plane 10. Works fine, but when I add some turbulence my rudder goes crazy and moves from far right to far left all time. I guess that this is autorudder function, but I have added yaw axis from my pedals so it should not be on? Any idea whats the problem?

Is it ??? If it is, I will buy a new laptop.

Does anyone else find the horrible turbulence is back with the latest Beta 6 with real weather. Just tried a couple flights in various aircraft and the winds were 15'ish gusting to 20, the turbulence reading on data output was .122, and "ALL" aircraft were pretty much un-flyable. It was so bad they were almost rolling over. I'm not a real world pilot, so can someone comment on how hard a small aircraft would be to handle in winds similar to these conditions. To me, it sure feels like we are back to the ridiculous turbulence.Glen

I have a evga nVidia GTX 560 video card, my cpu is an Intel core2duo q9650 running at stock 3.0 Ghz.After upgrading my monitor from a 24 inch to a 45 inch 3D monitor, I have a lot of shimmering, that wasn't noticeable on the 24 inch monitor. I also have to do antialiasing now whereas on the 24 inch I didn't have to bother. LOLMy question, is what setting in nVidia inspector will give me the least shimmering? For antialiasing, HDR with the FXAA does pretty well, some jaggies, but not too bad, I get 35 to 40 fps with that, The 4xSSAA quad render is too much though. Is there a better antialiasing scheme in nVidia inspector that is better than the FXAA, without the fps hit o…

I'm an experienced FSX simmer trying to make the conversion to X-Plane. For the life of me, I cannot seem to get my yoke and rudder pedals to calibrate. I follow the procedure on the calibration page, moving all axes of my various controllers (yoke, rudder pedals, toe brakes, Saitek TPM, Saitek trimwheel). I see the nice green lines that seem to correctly follow my control movements after calibration. When I return to the simulation itself, any aircraft I select (but especially the C-172) constantly turns to the left on the ground when power is applied unless I apply nearly full opposite rudder. I just recently got an Iphone and picked up x-plane remote form the itunes store. It really works. I did my first landing using the phone as the controller with the screen set to full screen and used the instruments on the iphone. It was a lot of fun!. Maybe gimmicky, but fun! I really just wanted it for the moving map feature, but using it as a controller was a woot!Rob

I'm updating OSM data for the downtown area of Toronto and there are some communication towers that shouldn't be there. They are not in the OSM data, any idea where they are coming from, and how do I get rid of them? Tried adding an exclusion in Wed, tower is still there.GlenP.S. For whatever reason, this tower is the same height as the CN Tower, which does have a Communication Tower on top. There is nothing in the OSM data for the CN Tower to "add" a Comm Tower. There are about 10-15 more towers north east of this one that also shouldn't be there, need to get rid of them.

I tried XPX on my Toshiba which has a GT525m 1GB dedicated card and the performance is not that good around 10-16 fps. So I guess I have to stick to my desktop and change my desktop card from a HD 5450 to at least a 6750.So I can use FSX on my Toshiba and XPX on my Athlon Desktop.Anyone where I can get scenery for India which I can try in the demo ?MOD please delete this thread repeated thread. Hi,Nvidia have released an updated driver... on my old Geforce card it seems to deliver a reasonable boost to FPS in XPX. Shudder problem seems to have disappeared as well..CheersBruce H (Oz)

Tune the slider to get the trade-off of quality and performance you want on your computer.
