I have recently downloaded the demo (a yearly event for me, hoping that one of these days the X-Plane product will win me over... but yet again, it has not...) ... and trying the default 744 which ought to fly accurately according to all the background X-Plane has with Austin Meyer etc... "should" fly real. Maybe it doesn't based on it not being an actual design by Austin or anyone etc... with a big reputation.. but simply here's what I find wrong.At empty weights (no pax, 2.5 hours total fuel) - this thing out to fly like a rocket! I took the plunge, and decided to get XP10, just got my copy in the mail and am now installing. I also purchased the Carenado Beech F33 and Cessna 172. Look forward to the full (non-demo) experience. ......now if it would only install faster. :(

I fy @vabb Mumbai - India , if anyone has a screen shot for that area for xpx or anyone know of the scenery for that area which I can check under the demo mode before ordering XPX.

Hi,Yesterday I installed the global version of XP10 and flew a bit round, Schiphol area.I'm running XP10 on a 6 Core i7-980Xtreme at 3.6 Ghz, 12GB RAM, an NV GTX570 and WIN7-X64 at 1920x1200As far as I can tell I have used more or less the default graphic settings (no HDR and AA/AS both to 4x)So far I'm getting 10-15 fps flying the default Baron cockpit view.Is this the performance I should expect using the default graphic settings?

Hi,This is happening to me, I file correctly the flight plan, tune the right ground frequencies first but sometimes I can get the clearence and sometimes in the ATC menu only says "file a flight plan" only, under the same scenario always. I'm running X-Plane 10.04 rc1 in Windows 7 64 bits. Any help or idea is appreciated.Thanks,Alex

I'm beginning to think all the good virtual cockpit built aircraft are not freeware... are there any good airliners with 3d cockpits or not? Any corporate jets?I have been searching online, but nothing that is good for version 10... is that true?I really want to buy XP10 now after using the demo and being amazed with the lightning, storms, lighting techniques and IFR flying .... etc....but don't want to spend all that $$$ till I try out some decent freeware offerings first.Thanks!

So I just recieved XP 10 and get it all installed. Afterwards, I went to the Updater/Installer page on the XP Website and it states I should have used the Updated Installer and then the rest of the CDs for install. Oops.. Anyways, I notice I can also up via the Updater/Installer so use that instead. After the program checks the files, downloads the latest stuff, and finishes installing, my XP10 version is listed as 10.04r1. Isn't it up to .07 now?I checked the "Beta" box in the Updater/Installer menu so I know that is ok.Any ideas, or is this what the version number is suppposed to read?Sorry if this is a silly question.Thanks!*EDIT* Nevermind, it looks like the current v…

Im looking to download some nice, yet frame rate friendly planes to use as AI. Ive found a few so far, but wondered if anyone can recomend some nice ones. Im looking mainly for airliners. (737 - 757 767 etc). Im not looking to fly these planes, I just want them to show up as ai.Rob

Posts in the MS Flight suggest that Flight is bad so I am thinking of going to XP 10. Have not been flying since 5-6 months and as XP10 supports linux I would go for it. Just want to know how good is XP10 and does it cover sceneries ?

Have purchased XP10, and am now waiting for the few days to get the DVDs,while waiting I've been figuring out configuration and procedures. I have notbeen able to figure out in the Beechcraft or Cessna how you can adjust theV/S, I've starred and starred at the panel and don't see anything.Am anxious to get global scenery, the CRJ and Q400, and doing some longerflights :) BTW, Laminar is great, its only taking like 3 days to get my disks!!Thanks,

HiJust found something mainly of interest to flight simmers from Aus. It's a flight planner with all the VFR waypoints and most Aus airports in it. It's in Excel format but it seems to work well in Libreoffice. I haven't checked but it looks like it might be possible to be converted for use in another country. Just bought this beauty this morning. Unfortunatley, All I can do is sit in for the time being because of Activation issues. I read there have been a lot of activation issues with this plane but it is or has been corrected in a new update. Does anyone know if the new version is out yet, or is this still the old activation problem. I opened a suport ticket this morning and I dont want to bother them buy opening another one. Ill wait patiently to hear back from X-avaition. Also does anyone know th eturn around time for a support ticket?Rob

After downloading beta 7, which has helped a lot, my grey hangers, towers and all the roads and runways have turned medium to dark brown.Has anyone else experienced this? Other than that, this beta seems to be the best one yet. Although I still have some shimmering, not nearly as bad as before. A couple of times the weather has changed itself, and had to reapply a couple of button assignments once. This was after the download and making sure everything was as before.

My budget is limited and I am looking at the HD 6750 1GB for my current sig rig (please see my signature) , will this card be powerful or good enough to run XPX on high sets @1600x900 ?

Hi,Just downloaded the latest update 10.04r1, and performance (for me) has definitely improved a lot over the course of the updates. I can now run global shadows and still get good frame rates.One thing though with the global shadows, with a setting of medium or high, I get shadow lines on the ground which follow the aircraft about half a mile behind and half a mile in front of it. Does everyone see this or is it something wrong with my system?Thanks.

So I succesfully downloaded and ran the X-Plane demo. It started with me in the cockpit of a 737 at the beghinning of the runway. I applied throttle but the rudder or whatever is being used to steer the plane on the ground seems to be stuck on hard right because the plane immediately statrts trying to turn right. As speed increases to plane starts spinning to the right until I decrease the throttle to idle. I checked the control setup but I can't figure out what controls the rudder. Either I'm doing something wrong or the plane has ben listening to too much Rush Limbaugh. I'm guessing the former. Any help would be appreciated. Thanks for reading.

I tried to open the installer that I found in the X-Plane.com website. But it happens nothing: the error message is: No such file or catalog. I want to try it fastest as possible.

I have noticed some places list XP 10 as just that, "XP 10", while others list it as "XP 10 Global".Is there a difference?Also, can anybody recommend a place with decent and fast shipping options for delivery to California?Thanks!
